A german man took the jerb of another german man because his german bosses allowed it to happen and they spread the rumours to the german media before it's even official. Probably the most german fussball event in the decade. The winner? FC Bayern as usual. Whenever something happens there it's Bayern that gets the benefits.

Is that a man under less pressure than if he was at a 'big club'?
Yes. That is a man fed up with being at a club where neither the board nor the players show any ambition. A club where top 4 and no trophies is good enough.

Might be a good fit for Spurs. Basically RB & Hoffenheim are analogues of Spurs. Teams that want to compete but not necessarily win things. I guess Levy will have to choose between him & Poch and who is more likely to help keep Kane.

The Spurs job realistically involves a big rebuild in the face of competition that has never been tougher and without many guarantees that you’ll get enough backing from the owner. It’s a poisoned chalice for a manager like Nagelsmann that can’t afford to fail in his next job.

I also disagree that Spurs don’t want to win things. The fan base at least is clearly crying out for success and silverware, which is part of what makes the job so difficult.

Conte's outburst was more about his own standards rather than the pressure being placed upon him by the club. There's a decent chance he'd be staying on at Spurs next season if he wasn't such an abrasive personality. He's more or less made that decision for himself.

No, didn’t know that. See you’ve scored almost 20 goals more? Surely you’ll catch up.
Bayern were ahead by 9 points in December and are now trailing Dortmund by one. The trend is bad and their performances over the last few months were very volatile. Something needed to be changed.

Can't really work out why Nagelsmann was sacked. Still probably favourites to win Bundesliga (even if they have lost twice in five, only lost three all season) and still in CL...

precisely because of this, no? you know something is wrong if we're in april and we're saying Bayern can still win BL.

Oh how Bayern would like to replace him with EtH, I am sure of that.

A lot of rumours today that Nagelsmanns girlfriend is a key factor in him being sacked. The dressingroom supposedly felt as if they couldnt speak for risk of leaks.

His girlfriend was a journalist at BILD. She had previously recused herself from covering Bayern Munich topics, but after Nagelsmann was sacked she has "resigned" from the newspaper entirely.

Markus Babbel, who came through the youth system at Bayern and spent 7 seasons in total as a player at the club wrote an article in Blick where he states the following:

And the second point?

I know his relationship with the Bild reporter is a huge topic in the dressing room. It didn't go over well at all that he was with her. His girlfriend was therefore a big problem for Bayern. There was a breach of trust because some players just weren't able to communicate what they were thinking anymore. Because they were afraid that everything would end up in the newspaper.

The whole interview can be read here: https://www.blick.ch/sport/fussball...roblem-fuer-die-bayern-kabine-id18430215.html

It does go some way to explain away the bizarre need to replace Nagelsmann so deep into the CL competition at a seemingly very random point in time. Its possible that the Bayern hierarchy sits on some information that made Nagelsmanns position simply untenable going forward.

I almost hope it's something to do with this or something similar, because that would make the decision seem a lot more rational.

The Conte release/sacking now just shows how important it was for Bayern to act fast...

Such an odd turn of events.

Would be funny if Bayern fail spectacularly now in the CL and league. Unfortunately, Tuchel is a very good manager so the opposite is more likely true.

There was no guarantee with Nagelsmann either. At the end the players have to make it.

It can get pretty ugly, just ask Casillas and Sara Carbonero.

Well Spurs were rejected by pretty much everyone the last time they fired a manager. Levy probably got PTSD from that and started asking around beforehand. Doubt Bagel Man will take the job though, probably go back to that smug bastard Poch.

So Conte's managed what I these days call "doing a Jose" and getting yourself out of a job!

Yet Conte is getting sacked despite us sitting in 4th in the league. If there was no pressure here why is he getting sacked?
I'm not saying there's no pressure at Spurs. Of course there is. But are your seriously saying that there's the same pressure at Spurs than at Real Madrid or PSG with it's Qatari overlords hellbent on winning the Champions League.

Expectations for Nagelsmann would be less. Win a trophy (any trophy) and it will be a success and as long as they stay in Cl places he'd be fine.

4 managers in 4 years does not suggest it's a total gift of a job with no pressure compared to their rivals does it?
You got knocked out of the League and FA Cup by teams you had no excuse of losing against and went out of the CL in very disappointing fashion and he was basically in no danger of losing his job.

According to Kicker, Kimmich has refuted statements that he had lost the dressing room, however Kicker claims he doesnt speak for the players here and more for himself, who apparently had a very close relationship with Nagelsmann.

You know the way all the blockbuster movies kind of just have the same small group of high-profile actors in all of them?

Football management is a bit like that isn't it

According to Bild Nagelmann isn't interested in new job immediately. He wants some time off to reflect about what wrong and his future.

Well, he currently is getting €10m+ per year for doing nothin, so to be fair I‘d also take my time considering other offers.
