Fantastic news!! I was sure the cnut would hang around well into his late 60s

I'm sure Liverpool will still somehow handle the transition annoyingly well but still...

They'll hire Arne Slot and become even better.

This Berrada chap is pretty effective.

Will this be Liverpool’s post SAF decade incoming?

Great news, but what bad timing.

If they fall away and don't win the league, he'll be blamed for making this announcement now.

Great news. I say that because hes been big for Liverpool, and lets be honest, a great manager, which has annoyed TF out of us. Hopefully they dont give him a leaving present of number 20.

Also hope their replacement is one that lasts 8 months...

Devastated, but this was always coming rather sooner than later.

If we don't get Xabi Alonso as his replacement it'll be back to the old days, and being happy to just competing for a top four spot. Our best young players might be starting to look elsewhere as well.

As much as I should dislike him due to his Scouse connections, I can’t bring myself to.

Been refreshing to have him in the league all this time, the league will be weaker without him.

Should’ve been our appointment after Fergie, he would’ve done a great job here.

I think he’ll take a year off. But that Madrid team is made for his style of play. Depends how well Carlo does I suppose, but not sure you let someone like Klopp slip by for one or two more Carlo years.

As others have said, Alonso will go to Liverpool.

Is time for Berrada to show us what he can do. Time to get Klopp in.
Despite the terrible season for us, if we can snatch COO from City and Manager from Pool, that would be an amazing feat to give us some comfort.

Can't stand the man but I hope he's alright and it's not a health thing.

Having no energy for it seems like the kinder way of breaking some godawful news perhaps.

It's good news for us of course but you don't wish ill on anyone.

Thats Liverpool done then.

Shocked by the amount of people thinking Pep leaving would end City. The only thing that can stop them is the legal process that is ongoing, not Pep leaving.

If it was a health thing, he would have stepped down immediately.

Wow, huge news. He must just be exhausted.
Nine years is a fair slog, and his energy levels must be pretty low. Unexpected, but I suppose it makes sense.

And.... Tuchel is having problems at Bayern......

I'd like to be happy about this, but Alonso will walk straight in the door. If Klopp had stuck around longer, we could have got Alonso before them.
