Kylian Mbappe | PSG

No , it's because He matured earlier than Ronaldo and realised that fancy tricks is for PlayStation not for actual football, Ronaldo did realize it later.

Great summary.
Theres reason why ronaldo got rid of his tricks.
Kinda like why Mayweather became more defensive and less flashy as he got older.
You dont need all that extra jazz to be great.
Although it does help when you are young building your brand.

He was always very efficient. He just lost a couple of chances against Chelsea which happened to be the only game of him Caf saw, and somehow a legend was born that Cavani misses many chances.

To be honest, he was prone to missing some crazy sitters in the past, but he always had a good goal scoring record over a year.

That figures, I suppose! :D

Seeing him live his movement is totally insane!

Yeah that narrative never made sense to me. Higuain, however, you can't convince me isn't a big game bottler. I've seen him miss more big chances in important games than any of the other big name strikers.

Farmers league, needs to prove himself in big games, just a pace merchant, etc, etc.

All nonsense to me. The kid is brilliant.

Tbf, the league is a bit ridiculous, PSG have a +63 goal difference...i mean...they're good...but really?

Agree with your point about Mbappe though, he's amazing. Although i'm beating Ligue 1 a little bit he's completely ran it since the age of 18 in two different sides, went to the world cup and again, ran it at the age of 20, winning it in the process, and then comes back to have his best season so far and showing the world that they've no need to worry about Neymar, Cavani, etc. being injured as he'll win the game for them.

The only mark against him is squandered chances but they don't even matter much because he makes up for it in the game anyway. If anything, the chances he misses are just stopping him getting to a Ronaldo/Messi level of goal return but he's got plenty of time to get there.

It wasn't just a game against Chelsea. I think it was that season in general he had a few games in the CL where he missed a lot of easy chances.

This is the one I remembered best.

True enough. I really hope he does a Cristiano & does a small tour of European powerhouses. He'll be 23 when his contract ends, so there's plenty of time for him to go PSG > Real > Bayern > Milan or something :D

PSG > United would be fine too :p

His conversion rate will go up, but he’s still the top scorer in France I believe. And getting lots of shots on goal is testimony to a player’s quality I think. Teams don’t just give you opportunities. One of my biggest problems with Lukaku is that he’s not even good enough, playing at centre forward, to have plenty of shots on goal. Whether they go in or not is even a different story, but too often in games, he doesn’t look like scoring a goal. We can score 5 in a game, and Lukaku has about one shot. That Mbappé can regularly take shots on goal shows that he’s too difficult for opposition to contain.

I've said it before, but a front 3 of Martial/Rashford/Mbappe would be like porn for fans of fast attacking football. I'd honestly love to see it.

One problem with his finishing is that sometimes he tried to finesse it when he should just blast it. When he understands that, goalkeepers are in trouble.

You really have a hard time analysing Ligue 1 here, it's a bit ridiculous when you read redcaf frequently and read all of these "farmers league" comments.

Ligue 1 lacks good offensive players, that's a fact, but it's not easier to score in L1 were everybody plays tight compared to PL with all the YOLO defenses. PSG with it's exceptionnal front 3 has so far scored 77 goals, which is on par with last year's season of City in PL for exemple. The only difference is, PSG's defense is better than City's and attackers from other teams are far less talented than those you have in PL, hence a huge goal difference because well, team struggle to score against PSG.

Mbappe showed several times he could score against the best team in europe or the world as easily.

If anything it just exemplifies PSG dominance compared to the rest of the league as the next closest to them has 43 less, whereas in the PL it's a bit closer. I never said that the league was a farmers league, but there is no doubt that PSG are so far ahead of the rest.

I didn't slate Mbappe.

I see where you are coming from but the first sentence "the league is a bit ridiculous" led to this answer. The league isn't ridiculous but the context is, basically PSG are one of the top teams in Europe and the only team in the league that can actually keep its best players, particularly attacking players. The other teams are continuously fielding new and young players who despite being talented can't really compete with the regularity and experience that seasoned players like Neymar or Cavani have or the talent of someone like Mbappé which would be true in pretty much every other leagues in the world.

Would be fantastic with a creative midfield. It's my FIFA front line

He misses a lot of good chances for a striker of his calibre. His movement is the best in the world of any striker by a distance though so he gets a lot of good chances. Huge fan of his but he's definitely prone to missing easy chances.

I was making more of a general reply, triggered by your post I admit. On the previous page someone wrote :
"Since hes playing in a farmers league can anyone get comparison of the number of champions league goals he has compared to Rooney,Ronaldo etc."

Reading "farmers league" over and over again is a bit... exhausting, even if i should expect it on a Man Utd Forum.

My main point was just the fact that's it's not particularly easier to score in L1 than it is in PL.

You watching the games? The product is dreadful. Roustan on commentary helps drive that point.

That's not even remotely my point.

I've watched Burnley beat Totteham 2-1 (allegedly one of the best PL team) by kicking the ball as hard as they could hoping it'd fall in the feet of their attacking players though. Great quality football, great show, fortunately, Tottenham's defenders were terrible enough to let them score.

If I could have any player in the world play for United it’d be him.

Knew he’d be world class from first game I seen him. A joy to watch.

Messi
Ronaldo
Neymar
Cavani
Lukaku
Kane
Lewandowski
Aubemayang
Suarez
Morata
Aguero
Costa
Zlatan
Lacazette
Benzema
Higuain

That's 16 but hey ho.

Not trying to be a dick by bringing up old posts, but does anyone still think any of this lot are better than him?

Messi, Ronaldo, and debatably Neymar for me. He’s better than the rest.

He's a phenomenal talent. His pace and power is something else. His ability to be able to notice pockets of space and make runs in behind, at such a young age, is also incredible. The best player of the next generation

Yeah he's better than all those players except for Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar.

And if Neymar keeps getting injured and continues losing pace, he'll surpass him soon.

Some of the names in this list are ridiculous ^^

Isn't it strange that Griezmann isn't in the list? Also I think that Griezmann is one of the better players.

And against Barcelona, and multiple other big CL games.

Kun, Costa, Kane can be considered better. But Mbappe hasnt peaked yet.

He will not leave the PSG and the L1 without having accomplished two objectives :

- win the CL, that he can do it this year
- and be the top scorer in the history of L1, on a base of 30/35 goals per season it will take 7/8 years

Isn't it strange that Griezmann isn't in the list? Also I think that Griezmann is one of the better players.

You can argue Griezmann I suppose but if I was picking a side I’d have Mbappe ahead of Griezmann all day long.

Griezmann is a system player, Kylian transcends those.

Even if anyone argues that they are equal in talent, the latter would obviously be the player to pick.

I think he's mainly wondering why Griezmann isn't in a list mentionning name as absurds as Morata, Lacazette, Lukaku or even Suarez this year when he truly is a world class player and far better than them.

Griezmann will always be largely underrated but this season he's been amazing, he totally carries Atletlco. To me, he's easily in the top 5 of the best players in the world in 2018-2019 (so far). And god knows his personnality annoys me...

Have you spoken to him personally?

- Very doubtful, can't see PSG going all the way, they're still lacking something
- I don't think he cares about that record at all  I give it 2 years before the actual rumours starts and 3/4 before he leaves because PSG will probably offer him 1B a week to stay...

I seriously doubt both of these. Winning the CL with PSG is certainly worthy, but why would he want to linger at PSG for 7/8 years. Others have mentioned it, but PSG is a big fish in a little pond. Unless he goes to England, Spain, or possibly Italy, his only other option is Bayern, which is in a slightly stronger league, but it's more of a lateral move in terms of what the league itself can do for his stature.

So why would he want to sit around in L1 for 8 years for a b-tier record, when he could go to Madrid, United, City, or Barcelona (Those are probably the 4 realistic candidates for him), where he would not only be able to go for more meaningful records, but the stature of those two leagues would vault him to the top of world football in the next 4-5 years when you have to think the incredible duo of Messi and Ronaldo start to slow down.

It's also possible he'd stay at PSG, because of their financial clout. However, at some point you think he might get bored of seal clubbing.

Still think that Griezmann is the third best player in the world (maybe even second if Ronaldo continues regressing). Mbappe will be better than him soon though, and better than anyone else.

And Harry Kane scored a brilliant solo effort goal.
