Bale would be one of the better signings we could make then. He's a true leader who can pretty much do it all by himself in attack, just give him the ball and he makes shit happen.
Yeah, he is one of the few players who can play at a good level even with a disjointed attack. Can create half a yard for himself and score a screamer from 25-30 yards out. The only other player in the world I can think of who's done that at a consistent level is Coutinho.

i would say no more than 15M if Bale is 70M. What has Martial done last 2 season? People are still talking about his potential when he is already 22. Henry was Arsenal striker at this age (season 99/00) scored 44 goals, and Bale ripped the EPL apart when he was 24.
we all tend to over value our players a lot and less those of others, and maybe a few months ago I would have been happy with 80 million, but in six months everything changes a lot in football.
110/130 for Bale seems more reasonable.
The problem with English teams is that few teams can afford those prices and salaries. In the case of Martial I imagine that they will sell him with some kind of buy back clause

70m pounds is not enough. Is not that what Liverpool paid for Van Dijk?. A player who has won the Champions final in half an hour and who has very good numbers despite not playing too much. One thing is that Madrid are willing to sell and another is to give him as a gift.
If Bale is worth 70, then according to merits we could bid for Martial by paying 35?
Then we should pay a 70M upfront fee with any others fees possibly 30M based on appearances and Balon D'or. Look Bale is a great player no doubt but he is incredibly injury prone and we do not need another Sanchez situation where

Van Dyke was 26, but yes I see your point in the current market but 150M pound players are not left on the bench for the last 2 CL Finals. We should at worst offer 70M plus another 30M based on appearances and Balon D'or winner. Maybe Madrid don't think he can play 40 to 45 games of 90 minutes all season and are worried that his body will break down again. With Sanchez not looking the greatest decision so far, the club should insist on protections within the Transfer Fee, especially where Madrid are concerned!!!

I hope we don’t sign Bale, wouldn’t mind William. I just think we have a few gaps in midfield and at fullback that need to be addressed.

Wages would make this next to impossible.
All we need is a new official hand towel sponsor

But in all seriousness, I think we can afford his wages. If he's pushing for a move, he might be willing to negotiate wages and include more bonuses. The only issue I would have in this potential transfer is any talk of De Gea going the other way.

Truth be told, if not for the whole fax machine saga, DeGea would've won a few CL titles already. So it may not be too difficult to turn his head and I'd hate it if Real use him as a negotiating tactic for Bale too.

How much does Alexis Sánchez earn? Bale about 15 million euros after taxes. That's 250000 pounds a week?

No, not Lisbon..Lisburn!
That team photo on Saturday night when they lifted the trophy and he could only squeeze in the back row, speaks volumes.
Would love him here but at what price given his brittleness

Are Spanish players taxed more than in the UK? Or am I thinking of another country?

I think in the unlikely event we signed him, he'd have to take a smaller basic wage, but we'd top it up with bonuses and a bigger slice of the commercial deals than he'd get anywhere else (a pretty standard Arnold/Woodward move).

Unlike Ronaldo, I don't think he's just making comments to get a new contract. He wants a guaranteed spot on the starting XI. Last summer also the same issue had existed and Jose did openly confirm our interest in him. Maybe Zidane promised him regular first team spot which made him stay. He may now be feeling let down and won't easily be convinced by them again.

But if he were to put in a transfer request or something, Perez will only make it harder, much much harder if Bale says he wants to join us (Morata last summer). Perez will ask ridiculous amount of money or Big Dave in return. imo, Perez would rather block / make transfer very hard and see him rot on the bench than let him leave.

No question about us going in for him again. Injury prone or not, he's too good a player to miss out on. Jose wants him, Ed wants his big name signing and immediately solves our RW problem. Bring him here for anything around 80, idc.

I love how the Guardian article says his relationship with Ronaldo is not so good now. Yeah sure how dare he score twice in a champions league final and steal the attention away from king cock.

Not really concerned about his wages. Pretty sure Ed has already lined up a chorus of potato chip companies to sponsor Bale's salary. Lol

I think he will be a RVP type of signing - exactly at 29 will be more fit if he plays more smarter and doesn't run like a leopard all day long , he just needs to preserve himself a little bit more and Jose might manage him well .

I want him at United - Alexis Lukaku Bale

Big game player. But it's not a give that we're the destination. Chelsea, Spurs and even Liverpool are possibilities if they fork out big.

Bale is definitely affordable because we are paying Alexis Sanchez considerably more than what he is on. Alexis Sanchez is on around £450k a week with all his add-ons.

Bale will not come in just on his own though, we will have to clear some wages for him by moving on the likes of Darmian, Blind and Shaw.

Spurs would have to break their salary structure to get him and that would cause all sorts of issues then for the rest of the big players there. Liverpool have bigger issues to address in defence and after they sort out that I don't see them having the funds for Bale. Chelsea haven't been buying all around them in quite some time so the only way i see that move happening is if hazard goes the other way (which is a possibility).

I don't think Bale will want to go from winning the CL to playing in the EL even if it's just for one year. Spurs can't afford to pay Toby what he wants so I don't know how they will afford Bales wages, I don' think pool can afford his wages either.

Spurs and Liverpool can absolutely not afford him. Their wage structure would be completely shattered.

If he's coming to the PL it's United, City or Chelsea.

We have to be massive favourites if he does actually want to come back to the PL. I don't think he suits City's style of play at all and Chelsea's poor season and lack of CL will go against them.

Avoid.

Every year we have a glaring problem that needs fixing, but then the Club gets distracted and tries to just sign the most marquee player available regardless of where he plays.

Sort the defense out. Full backs who can actually run and center backs who can pass a football, then you'll see our current attacking players improve a lot. Obviously Bale is tempting, but it's a temptation that needs avoiding.

for me if hes coming back to the premiership then its to us. never thought he would be available, but if theres a chance we should be in for him, said it himself hes been fit most of the season but just aint been picked. hes the kind of player who can score a goal out of nothing and we need more players like that. just now it only really Sanchez we have that could do that and he's not showed that here yet. fee who no's we usually get done with the transfers fee's anyway. but 80m to 100m i would reckon. wages you would expect him to be our highest earner if he did come and would warrent it for me.

He would fix the right flank problem. But is it a glaring piece of the pitch that needs fixing or is the full back and central midfield positions more urgent? I would rather see us fix the midfield and full backs.

Leg At Rehab (Gareth Bale) Too much of a sicknote and would be lucky to play half a season

If you think a RW is more important than the full back areas then we watched different teams last season.
well considering we aint had a proper RW for years then it might well be. we can sign better full backs but cant imagine Jose is going to let them go all out attack all the time. something hes never ever done. if hes had 1 full back thats attacking (Cole, Marcelo,Maicon) he usually had the other side more defensive (Ivanovic, Arbeloa) so if we got Sandro i cant see a RB coming in.

Bale would not only fix us in the final third he would absolutely elevate us, he is a great player and we don't currently have too many of those.

More like the other way around Bale + 80M and you can have DDG.

Or on second thought, no you can't even have DDG for that.

Feck off 150m for a player you use as a sub, is turning 29 and has a history of major injurries. You think we are mad or something.

Keep Bale, and we will keep DDG.

Even if this were to happen, it wouldn't rule us out from bringing in new full backs. All the rumours point towards Mounrinho agreeing with most the fans - We need new full backs, dynamic centre mid and right wing.
