My biggest worry is that Liverpool will make a move for him. He's got the potential to be England's next top striker.
It's clear he loves this club too as he mentioned Ronaldo and Zlatan when building his ultimate striker.

I think the plan is Cunha as the main striker at first, and then to ease Delap in. Cunha is the main signing up front for us this year I reckon. This lad is backup/development/rotation, and is a better option than retaining useless Hojlund for that.
I do not agree with the claims we need someone experienced. For example, Weghorst and Ighalo were useless. We need someone that can score goals. It is pointless to buy a 30 year old just for the sake of “he has experience” if that player does not score many goals. So goal scoring ability should be the criteria and not simply age.
Would be absolutely crazy buying a player that has been so productive as an attacking left sided attacker and moving him to a position which he has struggled in at previous clubs . Not going to happen- I hope
I get it from his point of view, it’s just a sad state of affairs. In years gone by these players would’ve been climbing over each other to get here.
Yeah it's just the reality of where we are right now. 8th last season and 16th this season! We don't have quite the same pull factor anymore sadly!
I think they mean 'has experience of scoring goals'. Which Wout sadly lacked, despite his age.
The fee might be "pennies" but his contract won't be, espeically if there are a number of teams after him
Except Weghorst did have experience of scoring goals, he scored 140 goals for various clubs before he came to United

Yeah but that unfortunately means another year of Hojlund which I can't bear to think about. Zirkzee clearly isn't a number 9 and like our resident Wolves fan said Cunha isn't the guy to lead line either. So in that case how are you going to deal with the situation next season?
Cunha isn’t a striker and the wolves fans here confirmed he’s not good as a striker. He plays where Rashford did, off the left
His stats per 90 are still better than Delap’s. I’m not claiming he would set the world alight but we need someone with more experience leading the line FFS. I don’t know why we don’t have Jonathan David wrapped up already in all honesty. We really need two strikers. In which case this signing would make a lot more sense.
He plays for Juventus in Serie A and Delap plays for relegated side. Delap is also 21 and made his debut in the league this year. Frankly his ceiling is higher and his output given that context is more impressive.
The point is it shouldn’t be either/or. We need a more experienced striker whoever it is even if Delap comes in. Or do you think Delap and Højlund as our options next season is sufficient ?
I think he'll be a good signing. I'm talking a 20 goal a season signing. People tend to overlook his qualities, but he is a good all-round player both the ball and off the ball. Will fit in quite a lot better than our current lot.
As you say, worse case we sell him to Everton, but I genuinely think he will surprise the fans here. Watch this space

That will be true for most of the options we'd be looking to sign; nature of the beast. He'll be much cheaper in terms of wages than someone like Oshimen, or even Jonathan David, who would be coming on a free.
I'm not against the signing just the fact he would be the guy leading the line which is far too much pressure
Ability aside can he handle the pressure leading the line at United? Hojlund looked like he had some ability but the pressure has crushed him
Garnacho has talent but pressure of having to produce every week is crushing him
I guess we’ll find, out the gamble on Delap has nothing to do with his ability and everything to do with the mental fortitude to deal with the main man pressure at the most high pressure and most scrutinised club in the league.

Yeah absolutely nailed it with this post, we have an experienced striker for him to learn from and he could flourish without being weighed down by pressure

Based on what? Your own mad ideas? Where have you plucked this from? I don't see anything making it out that this is the clubs plan. He's not a number 9, and how he plays doesn't really show that it would suddenly click for him in that role, it doesn't play to his strengths.

I think this would be an excellent purchase. Hoijlund can’t hold the ball up. All our attacks break down as soon as the ball goes to Hoijlund. He does not allow our team to push up because they don’t get a chance to. With Delap, he makes the ball stick and is able to push the team up with his ball running traits. This instantly puts our team under less pressure defensively which means our entire team can push up to attack as a collective.
Pretty much this for me as well. I’d feel more comfortable with Delap if we have Cunha and Mbeumo by his side.
I don’t think it’s unrealistic. Amorim recently talked about the importance of a left footed player at the right 10 in his system. I can see us going for Mbeumo or Semenyo if Garnacho is sold
Thing is Semenyo rarely plays on the right.

Pack it up and let’s never sign any player again. What they’ve done before proves nothing since they’ve never proved that they can score goals while playing for us.

It’s not about offloading him if he doesn’t fit in, but the reality is we already have two strikers we’ll maybe have to move on. What we need is someone who can step in and contribute immediately and I’m not sure he’s that player.

i also think he would be a very good signing. Clearly Gykores and Osheim are beyond what the club can afford to spend. Delap could become the next Alan Shearer or Harry Kane.
Nobody is paying that if he "fails" here. He'd have to do more than hes done at Ipswich to be worth it
