Alright, that was his best performance of this season. Sevilla at Sanchez Pizjuan, were down a goal twice.

Apparently he averages a goal or assist every 50 minutes in La Liga this season  Crazily good. And he actually had a quiet start into the game and lost many balls he rarely gives away, e.g. just before the 1:0.

Only does it because he has quality players around him and when they lose it's all his fault too.

How on earth do you manage 28 in 33 goals vs Atletico Madrid?! Simeone has that team drilled more than Nina Hartley, yet the lil guy is still almost managing a goal per game.

Ran 7.8km and still by far the best player on the pitch. That's how good he is. How many attackers can get away with that?

This doesn't qualify as a big game though.
Only does it because he has quality players around him and when they lose it's all his fault too.
The fact that he's scored 3 and assisted another shows that he has his team run everything through him so this game actually proved he's not the best. Don't let romanticism and aesthetics fool you guys.

This guy is incredible, Barcelona for all the money spent and potential in young very talented players, will struggle to replace him once he declines. He is that good, a once in a lifetime player imo.

Might sneak into that mythical 23 man squad to play a Mars XI on the back of that performance. What a volley  and then he fecking hits a right foot curl shot just inside the box..:drool::drool::drool:

A lot of those goals were before they became good, I'm guessing.

Nonetheless this is all incredible of course.

It's an impossible task, they will never replace him.

The Messi years are the most successful years in the clubs history. They're not going to repeat them anytime soon.

Imagine being one of those pseudo-intellectual types that pretend to believe that older players from the past were better at football than this man.

Me neither.

Like, just watch him. You don’t get better than that.

Can't wait until he retires just so it brings Barcelona down a level. I'm afraid we might not see goal scorers as good as him and CR7 again.

He's still a one trick pony really. Just like valencia though he executes his trick better. Sure he might score a hattrick nearly every game, but I havn't seen him score enough overhead kicks or headers to rate him.

Thats the thing though. hes so much more than just a goal scorer. I could watch those little chip through balls to neymar/alba all day.
Of course. Barcelona are gonna be average when he retires. I can't wait.

One can say he has declined a little but his top level was so unreal that it doesn't seem noticeable.

Never heard of him. But I’m always sceptical towards these argentinian talents. Never seem to make it in England.

So we can argue with the same handful of people who are adamant that it's even a contest? Pfft :D

Not really. He used to score a lot against them when they were competing for Laliga and the CL still.
The year they last the treble, he destroyed them
I think he had 18 goals against them by the end of 11/12. All but one were before Simeone's reign. So 10 goals since looks respectable, given how good he's.
