"Did you see Fabinho against Red Star & Cardiff?"
Figured I'd start a thread. It's a big change losing Mane and bringing in a more unproven player like Nunez. I suspect Klopp will change to a 4-2-3-1 and we'll see Carvalho play a fair bit as a number 10 ahead of Thiago and Fabinho in midfield. This might also be the season where Henderson's age catches up with him. I don't think he'll have over 50 appearances in him this season (but nothing a little puff on the magic inhaler can't fix).
Ins (so far but I think we're done)
- Darwin Nunez
- Fabio Carvalho
- Calvin Ramsay
Outs (so far)
- Sadio Mane (not confirmed but he's basically a Bayern player).
- Divock Origi
- Sheyi Ojo
- Ben Woodburn
- Loris Karius (yes he was still a Liverpool player)
- Marko Grujic (he should've been sold years ago).
I've seen us linked to Wijnaldum on loan which wouldn't be the worst idea. I think we could do with another midfielder.
I expect Minamino to leave and Joe Gomez has been linked to Aston Villa but I doubt we'll let him go. He was a useful player to have in the squad last season. Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked to United (the answer to all of your problems) but I don't think he'll go. Klopp likes having him around to start in a few games here and there.
I don't know if we can win the league. City signing Haaland is intimidating but they're going through some pretty big squad changes themselves (Sterling, Silva and Jesus linked with moves away). I'd like to think we'll be up there but a lot depends on how we adjust to not having Mane. He's been a Liverpool player for most of Klopp's reign so it's a big change. Salah and Firmino might well play their last seasons for Liverpool as well.
I think we're the only side capable of challenging City as things stand, but maybe they run away with it and it's done by Christmas.
