Scouse bastards just can’t admit how absolutely devastated they are they were beaten. They’ve craved a PL title for so long but it’s been a damp squib as they’ve pretty much secured it with barely any excitement so this unbeaten run was their quest. And they fecked it.

First title in 30 years and nobody gives a feck anymore and they hate it.

We had a close run in at the end of the 92/93 season, under the lights with Pallister securing our first title in 26 years whilst the Vermin win it not with a bang, but a wet fart.

Big deal. Liverpool had a 21 point lead in the league. What will make or break their season, is their showing in the Champions League.

Those Arsenal invincibles drew a lot of matches and they were knocked out of every other competition. Besides that, I'd rather be 26-1-1 than 20-8-0.

Meh, they lost a game and will stroll to win the league. Not ruling them out for another CL final again either.

The way they're walking the league this year, this record would've ended up being the difference between it being a legendary league win and a "well done for breaking your 30 year duck" kind of thing.

It's and incredible year for the Pool, and all credit is due, but I'm glad we're hanging on to that one.

It's strange that you would come on here and claim that every one of Utd's PL wins were "tainted" with "yeah but you got beat". You can't go spouting rubbish like this on here. :nono: Utd had some truly great teams and the fact that none of them went unbeaten for a whole season doesn't diminish their PL wins one bit.
I think it's the fact you're all pretending you're not bothered about it which is cracking people up laughing.

He's right, I'm absolutely devastated. How am I gonna cope with it remains unknown? Praying the same scenario happens next season only we lose the last game

so when we lift it, we're desperately hurt like now.

Quit crying about it. Just accept you're disappointed not to be the invincibles and move on. That's what your gaffer and players should have said instead of talking bollocks about not being bothered and the media going on about it and not them.

I imagine Arse fans will respond with this

It really hasn't. It would have been nice of course but the title is really all that matters and I've said that in previous posts.
At this stage, if that loss against Watford gives us a much needed kick up the arse, then it might turn out to not be such a bad thing
Having gone on that unbeaten run and being 20+ points clear in the league, on what planet would you need a kick up the arse? :houllier:

Why even respond to the thread if you don't care??

The performances since the winter break have been awful. That's where we need the kick. We can't just show up expecting to win and Watford have now done something to us that no one else in the league have. If complancey was starting to set in, then it's well and truly gone now.

The Scousers make me laugh.
Heard Klopp quoting somewhere "I'm glad we lost, now we can go back to our free flowing football".
Why the feck don't they all shut up and stop making idiots of themselves.

Eh? When you start getting complacent and start thinking that you don't have to be at a 100% to beat your opponent? Especially after difficult matches against Norwich and West Ham.

It's been obvious for ages how much it meant to them to keep the run going. Theyve fluked a few games recently on sheer desire alone. They'll still walk the league but now the drive for the record has gone they will likely drop a few more points on the way. The points record is their focus now but it doesnt mean anywhere near as much.

To be fair we'd already won the league before that Blackburn game.

You hope it's gone. Probably best to see how their next few games pan out first.

Well the complacency (if it was there in the first place) will have gone but it doesn't necessarily mean that the performances will improve. It'll be interesting to see the team that Klopp picks tomorrow in the FA Cup now

To be precise, Coventry secured our title in 1993 by beating Aston Villa.

"we didn't speak about the historic invincibles run - honest. It was just the bloody media. We didn't even think about it once"

It was Oldham to be really precise.
Oh yeah, the Coventry game was a few weeks earlier and them dropping points was very important at the time but Oldham sealed it, you're right.

I am interested to see if they actually go back to playing good football now the records gone. They've clearly been so desperate to keep it going, and just grinding it out with the robotic style, they might feel a bit more freedom to express themselves now. Wouldn't surprise me if they end up playing a much more attractive style for the rest of the season unfortunately.

I'm actually hoping this breaks the psychological effect it has on other teams. I think many teams went up against them expecting not to get anything. Now hopefully they won't crumble.

Exactly, teams now can look at it and think, yes we can break them down.
Watford have troubled them both times. They play such a high line, teams with real pace will bother them.

I think it was Oldham beating Villa the day before but still, a way more thrilling end to our long wait. Lets hope we can at least challenge next year.

Edit: just see someone else mentioned
Oldham.

In all honesty. Hate losing, no getting round that.

Geniunely don't care if we win the title by 100 points or 1. The title is all that matters.

All the other records, prizes etc etc......I couldn't give a stuff. Nice to have and all that, but ultimately they are baubles and sidetracks along the way.

A jedi craves not these things. :)

Don't care as long as they go out of the CL. Wouldn't matter to me if they won every remaining PL game playing divine football.

In a world of my own. People know me here.
Remember the good old days when you guys used to laugh at us for failing to win trophies, failing to make title challenges, & even failing to make the top 6. Now you're laughing at us for failing to go the season unbeaten.

Happy days :D

Literally any excuse to laugh at you has to be taken, it's borderline pathological at this point.

The way the media has built them up has been sickening. Constant debates about the best PL side ever. Well they can feck off now. Been riding their luck all season and now absolutely smashed by Watford.

Exactly, the debate about best ever PL side is OTT. Granted what they are doing now is amazing but really, they have to play 2 really difficult games a season Vs Man-City.

If you took individuals out the team, I would really only take 3 max 4 from their team.
