that was one of the most shocking things I’ve seen in football, appalling. Allegedly those were not the lines that they actually used in the analysis?

but we’ve moved a long way from that, that’s 2 years ago, and whilst there are lots of things we can criticise VAR for, captains can’t come out and say the lines are best when they aren’t.

I'm not sure why everyone is giving out about Liverpool here ? They haven't asked for anything to happen in their favour but simply asked for the decisions to be looked at and explained and i'm delighted they have. Someone needs to answer for those decisions today and this will only benefit the league going forward and improve VAR. Look what happened after the shitshow of a weekend with all the handball penalties and the farcical one given against United, it was looked at and the rule amended for the benefit of the game. We need more teams and more players/managers/pundits really questioning some of the crazy stuff we've seen over the last year if we want it to change. Think back to the start of last season and how VAR was afraid to overturn a refs decision. A club with Uniteds stature or liverpools stature is needed to change some of the mind boggling decisions we've seen.

Whatever happens to fair judgement ? What about all the penalties United are given time and time again, since the time of Ferguson, remember your penalty awarded after the whistle recently ?

Prickfords tackle was a straight red, but ignored only for VAR and Oliver to uselessly analyse if it was offside, completely ignoring the tackle. Richarlison gets a well deserved Red. But the Henderson goal was perfectly onside, only for David Coote, a proven United fan, behind the VAR to rule it out.

And to the OP of this thread, have you forgotten all your controversies regarding the FFP, which is another joke like VAR. Only reason your Pep is able to buy the Epl trophy, only to fail flawlessly in the UCL.

I rest my case.
Are you saying that was a wrong call because it wasn't.

The issue is they’re happy to benefit from it yet when it goes against them they cry wolf. It’s ridiculous.

Please, just stop.

The sheer amount of good luck your club has received over the last couple of years more than cancels out the odd shady decision that goes against you.
Is this serious? You’ve had as much of not more go your way from VAR over the last 12 months. You’ve also had some ridiculous calls against you like we have (the Lamela one for example).

I can’t believe some are still trying to use VAR and luck as an excuse for our recent success. It’s gone our way at times, it’s gone against us at others. Its application has been inconsistent.

For all of Liverpool's lack of self awareness, the idea we've had the rub of the green above a United team that's had treble our penalties over the last two and half seasons despite being a far inferior team is a bit of an odd contradiction. I can't square that one myself.

We've had our share of bad luck, it's just easy to miss when you win most of your games despite that.
What's our penalties got to do with your VAR decisions? They're separate things and while one or two were iffy, with the type of players we have upfront (and their pace and speed they change direction at), we're going to get some.

If they'd simply commented on the Pickford tackle, even United fans would say "fair point", it was a shocking tackle. But to call VAR (not just the one tackle) into question and your club captain imply they're stupid/biased/corrupt on offside decisions, is just laughable and smalltime.

Yet AGAIN, whoever's in charge of Liverpool's Comms/PR, needs a slap.

"I think they bend the lines sometimes to make it offside. I'm not sure how they do it, I've seen it before.” Jordan Henderson.

Jesus Christ, what poor losers.

like others have said, they have had the run of the green, and now things aren’t going well this season, they fall back on old habits.

we will be seeing t shirts next!

Whilst true I think most people are having more of a problem that when VAR is going Livarpool's way you don't hear a peep from them. But as soon as some sketchy decisions go against them they pull this.

Look at Brucey at Newcastle after they got away with a draw vs Spurs due to the Dier incident. He was pretty open about the new handball rule and that it needed to be changed despite the fact that Newcastle directly benefitted from it and got 2points and a draw because of it.

You would think so. VAR is essentially an extension of the referee and officials, and we’ve seen lots of people reprimanded for criticising the officials - and it’s not even a criticism, it’s accusing them of cheating is it not?

Yeah, he's accused them of ruling out legitimate goals, presumably to affect the result of the game.

Managers have been fined for less. It's an incredibly stupid thing to say. He could get a ban for this.

I don't see how it wouldn't fall under bringing the game into disrepute.

Can you explain why you had been awarded more penalties than us at a time where we had 13 league titles and you none?

Mythical bullshit. Man United have been awarded 162 penalties since the Premier Leaggue began.
Liverpool have been awarded 158. We were awarded nine more penalties than you last season, meaning up until then Liverpool had the all time record for most penalties awarded.

Considering you spent years as a mid table club and have 1 PL title compared to our 13. As well as our far superior attacking play and players down the years. It is actually quite astonishing that you had been awarded more penalties than us. As in astonishing, shocking and nonsensical.

At the point of retiring Sir Alex Ferguson’s United had been awarded less Premier League penalties than Liverpool.

These are facts..

I don't get the fuss. Liverpool won't gain anything from this. They know it and we all know it, so why the vitriol? If this can influence how VAR is used, or at least force the FA to say something, then good. If not, then nothing happens.

It would. The officials will be very very careful and hesitant to call var decisions against liverpool from now onwards. Whats so difficult to understand here people?

For all of Liverpool’s lack of self awareness... here’s a complaint about another team getting fouled in the opposition box. So basically you, and Liverpool, are just accusing everyone of corruption without a single shred of evidence. You’re children at best. This seems like an attempt to influence future decisions, which is hardly the mark of fair play.

Just as Henderson scored I turned off the telly as I was heading out. Wasn't until the WhatsApp group started hopping that I realised it was disallowed. Delighted wasn't even the word. Couldn't have happened to a bigger tosser than Henderson

There's a difference in getting "lucky" with marginal or contentious VAR calls. And then there's leg breakers being ignored and a clear, undisputable onside goal being chalked off. Some of you are a different breed if you guys can't see this objectively.

I see the usually cocky scouse contingent are getting a bit rattled following Liverpool's iffy start to the season.

Didn’t see Liverpool question VAR application when Romeu tried to snap Greenwood’s leg in two, though, did you? Or us for that matter.

That’s kind of the point, that it’s all fine and dandy until one thing goes against them but when something does it’s time for a massive inquest. I haven’t seen the Robertson incident and I’ve just read on here that there was an incident, but I haven’t seen anyone from Liverpool bring that up as an inconsistency as to what the VAR looks at.

So yes, they have a point, but to bring it to the FA demanding an investigation two hours after they got shafted (like every other team has been over the past two years at some point) is typical of their victim mentality and reeks of them trying to influence future decisions like Lampard did against us with his press conference before we played them.

Actually we might get a lot from this. With all our bad luck and dodgy calls against us maybe this will open the PL’s eyes to the obvious mistakes being made by VAR and the idiots who run it. Today was a disgrace evident by 99% of pundits and ex refs agreeing that both big decisions were missed. I can live with refs being refs but a replay system that get’s it wrong in front of every sensible person who all agree( except you lot) that it was wrong on both accounts.
Hopefully we benefit with some calls going our way going forward and open the PL’s eyes into what a farce VAR is.
