Can they pull out of the league too?!
Watch them win the lot. This is our December fixture list as it stands with Villa added in for the League Cup QF
Wed 4 Everton H
Sat 7 Bournemouth A
Tue 10 Salzburg A
Sat 14 Watford H
Tue 17 Villa A
Wed 18 CWC N
Sat 21 CWC N
West Ham (Postponed due to CWC) A
Thu 26 Leicester A
Sun 29 Wolves H
I've no idea what they'll do but maybe Mon 23rd Dec could work for the Villa match as we both play on the 21st (providing we get to the CWC final) so it would be a fair match all round? Crazy scheduling and the West Ham game still needs to slot in somewhere down the line. The joys of being a successful team again!
And who would be the manager for the match?Find it ridiculous. Play their u23s in the cup if needs be.
6 out of 18 isn't most of it in any definition. Most of it
It'll certainly be interesting how it gets sorted.Hence the need to reschedule.
At least six of them (gomez, milner, origi, chamberlain, keita, Lallana).
Brewster and Elliott might go as well, with little chance of featuring.
It's a really bad argument though. It's a first team competition. If the FA said that it's fine to play while the first team are on a plane to dubai since the reserves can play, they might as well just pack in the competition for good.
But we'd simply withdraw if that turns out to be the case.
Financially, and in terms of fatigued players too...I hope the fixture pile up cripples them.
Figuratively...
More than 2, I would guess. Then there is Klopp too, his assistant, all the other coaches, physios and so on. Which will be on another continent during the match. This is nonsensical.
How many of that squad he put out yesterday would even be in their travelling party?
More than 2?
Protest against what exactly? They knew they were playing the dumb club world cup ages ago. If they didn't think they could cope with League Cup fixtures, they shouldn't have entered the tournament. Threatening to withdraw halfway through is pretty disrespectful to the other teams in the competition.More than 2, I would guess. Of course, they can send their academy team, but that is bullshit. FA should reschedule the match, or Liverpool should withdraw from it as sign of protest.
United had something similar in 2008/09, but maybe a few days better off due to the timing of the League Cup.
Crazy schedule tbf but yeah 23rd looks like the only possible time for this match. This is our December fixture list as it stands with Villa added in for the League Cup QF

We usually drop points after one of Klopp's warm weather training camps. I remember during the 16/17 season where we'd had a three week break including one of those warm weather getaways. We played Leicester who had played twice in the CL.Should have bought a few players in the summer for depth.
On the other hand, last year they had lots of rest mid-season yet lost their most points in those next couple of games didn't they?
Just placed a bet on Villa @3.45, can't see anything but a very weakened side, odds should be dropping.Think Pool will just agree to play it and they'll play the kids that don't go to Qatar and accept the defeat.
Just play it on Wednesday 8th of January, what was supposed to be the the first leg of the semi.
We tried to. You can blame Arsenal for that...They should have just gone out
7 for sure, plus probably a couple of the kids to make up the numbers6 out of 18 isn't most of it in any definition.
Against FA being idiots. Same FA who essentially banned us from FA Cup in 1999 to play in the same stupid tournament. Which is still a much more prestigious tournament than the stupid league cup, a tournament no one gives a shit about.Protest against what exactly? From November 23rd through January 5th we already play 13 games in 6 weeks without including the Villa league cup game. I'd hardly call that "most rest out of everyone". Man City in comparison play 11 games (+ probably a league cup game) in the same timeframe.Don't they get the most rest out of everyone over Christmas as usual?
Exactly, we even went on to win both the League Cup and Club World Cup in 2009. Oh, and defend our Premier League title. Can you imagine Fergie doing that? I can't, but that's why he's the greatest manager ever.
You didn't have a game scheduled for a day in which you were supposed to be in a different continent thoughExactly, we even went on to win both the League Cup and Club World Cup in 2009. Oh, and defend our Premier League title.
Pretty sure that's a tongue in cheek comment about the 2000 FA cup.You didn't have a game scheduled for a day in which you were supposed to be in a different continent though
