Romelu Lukaku's agent has confirmed he has spoken to Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy about his client.

The Belgian striker has scored 13 goals on loan for Everton from Chelsea this season and has been a key player in the Toffees' bid for a Champions League place.

Lukaku had a similarly good loan spell at West Brom last season - in which he scored 17 times - and the fact he was not retained by the Blues this year has led to suggestions that he may be surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

His agent Christophe Henrotay has spoken to other clubs, including Tottenham, about the player's future.

He told Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad: "I'm looking for a club for Romelu. And yes, I've talked to Daniel Levy once, but that doesn't mean Romelu will definitely join Spurs. That's not a talking point at this moment."

But Henrotay added that, should Chelsea opt to sell Lukaku, their asking price may limit the number of teams that could sign him.

"There aren't 20 teams that can afford to buy Romelu," he said. "He won't go from Everton to, let's say, Swansea.

"There's also a difference between Everton that plays against relegation and an Everton that fights for European football."

Would have liked us to be in there.

Don't see why he'd leave a club where he won't play to join another club where he won't play. At least all of Chelsea's other options are shite. Still, could be a top player.

Very good player. Would suit Spurs very well.

He will be a starter there. Will definitely be better than Soldado and also Adebayor (after he has got his new contract).

He's referreing to the final part of the OP, where it's suggested that we should have been in there.

Ok. We were not there in the entire article so I did not realize he commented on Drifter's remark at the end.

I think he's quite overrated at the moment. He's got talent to burn no doubt but his all round game is shockingly poor at times. Can see why Jose didn't want him yet despite the media furor against it.

Arsenal could do a lot worse. I recommend they move for either him or Big Ben.

Excellent player but will definitely cost north of 20million pounds. Would rather we used that money on some other positions.

Someone like Dortmund should go in for him if Chelsea don't overvalue him. Wasted at Chelsea, would be wasted at United, Spurs -, Everton would be a good permanent move but is this brilliant season a one-off?

I think he'd be better off abroad at a club who has room for a new lead striker.

I think he will be perfect for Spurs.

He's gonna need at least a season of re-training a lot of the basics in his game. Think if he goes back to chelsea, people will be saying he's gone off the boil because he's focusing on new things and failing to make a noticeable impact before he starts making headlines again.

Not ready for prime time.

If Hernandez is leaving we should be in for him.

With Mourinho banging on about his lack of current striking options - why is it suddenly being assumed that Lukaku isnt going to stay at Chelsea and become a starter for them next season?

Have I missed something here?

If he is due to go, then striker is one of the last positions we need to strengthen, good player though he is. If we cant give Hernandez or even Welbeck the regular gametime they need, there is no point whatsoever in trying to sign Lukaku.

Sounds to me more like his agent is taking advantage of Mourinhos dissatisfaction with Chelseas current strikers, to casually just turn a couple of spotlights onto Lukaku. Whether this is for a new contract or what, im not sure.

He'll stay at Chelsea. Though if stories of them signing a top striker are true, he might have to leave as Mourinho will never play 2 strikers and Lukaku's shown he isnt ready to be on the bench.

He almost definitely isn't coming here, especially as there is bad blood between the boards of the 2 clubs. Agent just using us to drum up more interest.

Will only be 21 in the summer, well worth a look for us I reckon.

He's one of those players that you'd snap up if they're available because their potential is huge, even if you don't necessarily need him. He's not only a great goalscorer but he has a fantastic character and a player you'd want in your dressing room. I really want him. :(

It would be mental for us to sign yet another attacking player. If the lad's smart and Chelsea don't want him he should go to Everton for a couple more years.

How will it work? We cannot give Hernandez game time then how do we intend to do so with Lukaku? We will have to offload Van Persie as well. Despite that, we have seen Van Persie and Rooney don't work great so no guarantees Lukakau and Rooney will.

I think another year at Everton would be good for him.

It's quite plausible he will leave in similar circumstances to Sturridge. Never really given an opportunity to show what he can do for a prolonged period.

Not sure if he actually wants to stay there now either, not read any stories of him saying he currently wants to succeed at Chelsea in a similar fashion to the way loaned players often talk about parent clubs when asked. He speaks very highly of Everton and Martinez too, seems to be really enjoying it.

But he definitely carries a premium if he does become available. Absolute powerhouse and there aren't many who guarantee goals at his age with his presence.

Either using the Spurs thing to generate interest from better clubs or for a renewed contract to make the Chelsea thing worth it if he doesn't get to play.

It'd be really nice if he could stay at Everton I think, would set them up well to maintain their current performance levels next year but I don't think they can afford him.

Perhaps if he helps them catch Arsenal and get into the Champions League they'll have some extra cash.

How much of that £27.5 million we gifted Everton be part of their transfer budget?

Martinez wants to improve the facilities so that will lower our budget. Buying someone like Lukaku would probably use half of our max budget i'd think but it would probably be worth it.

I think it would too. If you can get Barry for free on top of that it would be smashing business.

Didn't he say recently that you'd saved up your pennies in January to have a bigger spooge this summer? He did mention that the raise in TV money would mainly go towards facilities but I reckon you'll have a fair bit to spend. Think you'll be ahead of any other premiership club (realistically) on Lukaku's list of preferences too. Would be especially mad to go to Spurs instead.

He's overrated in the sense that some people think that had he stayed at Chelsea this season he'd have 25 goals and would have fired them to the title. He wouldn't have. His touch is very hit and miss, but the potential he has is massive.

Aye he did. We need 2 strikers and 2 CMs i think though, and one of both the ST/CM have to be top players. Striker should be the priority though.

Say we bought Lukaku and a CM was Barry, we could still possibly have half our max budget left to get a top quality midfielder and another cheaper striker, plus i'd expect a few loans again. Wages could change that however.

If he is looking for a move how about to athletico if costa goes
or to dortmund to replace lewendowski
Both could offer cl football (though everton still could I suppose) and would probably be a step up for him

I really can't believe Chelsea would consider selling him, especially now as Mourinho is crying out for strikers. When you look at who Chelsea have up top this season it's surprising he was even loaned out again.
