Honestly the entire back 4 (maybe not Shaw) need replacing. We also need two quality CM however there is no way we go buy 5 or 6 players so we can expect another rebuilding period coming up I’m afraid.

Maguire was one of the consistent players for two years, he just needs some benching and reignite his previous form.
Both Maguire and Varane are not world class defenders but they are not what needs immediate fix.
First, United need to concretely decide what type of play they are going to go with. Then they need to buy a midfielder who knows how to shield the defense.
