If the punishment is dropped because evidence was not procured in a correct way, that's not "not guilty". It's "a crook got away with it".
Ah ok, so basically I'm right when I'm right but I dont have to admit when wrong, but people who said city were innocent are wrong when they are right and should admit when wrong.Na because there is no doubt that if it is overturned, it will be based on the illegality of the hacked emails (although CAS have admitted evidence obtained through hacking previously). The hacked emails definitely show that City is guilty, the appeal is based on if they can be punished for that however.
Say what you want about the rules, but these rules are the ones agreed upon. If City goes clear they have absolutely no bearing for the future. I reckon this might be a catalyst for a Super League in the not so distant future. Why didn’t they fight in 2019 when documents showed UEFA conspired with PSG to let them get away with their inflated sponsorships? The same investigator who led that dubious process led the one against City.
Say it is true and City avoid the ban. How would you feel ? Happy ? Relieved ?

He can be as well connected as he'd like, there's no one in CAS that's leaking rulings ahead of time. These people that sits in arbitration are highly accomplished lawyers and professors of law that do not speak to the press. They are what you might call heavyweights in their profession and live and die by their reputation as incorruptable. The clubs lawyers and personell sure might "Feel" as if they have made a good case and expect a win, but the CAS arbitrators do not give verdicts to people ahead of time. They know when we know.Cheeseman is as City as it gets. Biased in the extreme but also well connected.
How would they be anything but happy? Basically confirms they can continue to cheat and pay no consequences for it. Gives them carte blanche to break the rules and they will get even worse with it now they know there’s no recourse for their actions.Say it is true and City avoid the ban. How would you feel ? Happy ? Relieved ?
The word being used is exonerated. That's not guilty (IF true...)If the punishment is dropped because evidence was not procured in a correct way, that's not "not guilty". It's "a crook got away with it".
Yes, it'll be like their response to the initial verdict. They know what's coming. He is being overly confident so they can act incredulous when the decision does come down. Absolutely flabbergasted and enraged when they clearly did everything above board and legitimately.
They just can’t believe and will play the “aggrieved and singled out” response afterwards.
So why does this apply now but not last year when UEFA did not even bother to mount a defence at CAS against PSG? When UEFA ignored their own chosen independent assessor about PSG’s sponsorship and sided with the club’s own chosen “independent” assessor instead?Say what you want about the rules, but these rules are the ones agreed upon. Like OJ I guess. The word being used is exonerated. That's not guilty (IF true...)
Yup. Not guilty is not guilty.Like OJ.
I don’t know. But this will surely fire up the traditional big clubs. Expect moves from Spain and Germany on the super league days after if City go clear. So why does this apply now but not last year when UEFA did not even bother to mount a defence at CAS against PSG? Tbf that's more or less how justice works.“we’re guilty but you didn’t catch us honestly” how ridiculous is that
feck them we all knew they were corrupt from the first minute anyway. We will just have to do it the proper way
Agreed, could be the catalyst for that breakaway 'super league' idea that's been floated around in recent years...I think if it is overturned, it may well be the straw that breaks the camel's back where the historically big clubs are concerned.
Agreed, this needs to be repeated over and over again.CAS leak feck all, so whilst these accounts "may" be right, they have not heard diddly squat. End of. Pure guesswork on Pep's presser Cheeseman's tweet is. And Sinclair's is based on Cheeseman's or vice versa.
Until Monday, no one knows a thing
CAS don't leak... City and insiders know feck all... only time will tell.Agreed, this needs to be repeated over and over again.
feck the "proper" historical clubsFFP is dead if this happens. I expect a big fight back from Bayern, Real Madrid, Barca, Liverpool and us. The proper historical clubs out there.
Wasn't the public announcement supposed to be today, which was postponed, rather than the CAS announcement? Parties involved could well have been told. Shows City's class if they're leaking whatever the findings.CAS leak feck all, so whilst these accounts "may" be right, they have not heard diddly squat. End of. They’d surely inform the parties involved before the verdict is announced though?Agreed, this needs to be repeated over and over again.
nah, they do inform relevant parties of the outcome prior to it being made public so they can prepare statements etc, but its literally a few hours before, not days. A few hours before, not days. Courts keep a tight seal on these things even with regards to the parties involved. They’d surely inform the parties involved before the verdict is announced though?
Nah, feck the cheats who broke the rules that everyone, including themselves, agreed to play by.feck the "proper" historical clubs
Depends... if they are going to announce Monday morning (9:30 uk time) they may decide Friday afternoon is only a few working hours so inform them as getting hold of legal reps etc late on a Sunday or at 5am on a Monday might be trickynah, they do inform relevant parties of the outcome prior to it being made public so they can prepare statements etc, but its literally a few hours before, not days. nah it'll be Monday morning, 7am 8am etc Swiss time. City wont know a thing until then and neither will their so called insiders. Theyre all getting carried away (although may turn out to be right). If they get away with it, a precedent is set, any other club from now on with same accusations can just say "well City got away with it"Depends... if they are going to announce Monday morning (9:30 uk time) they may decide Friday afternoon is only a few working hours so inform them as getting hold of legal reps etc late on a Sunday or at 5am on a Monday might be tricky
There’s no such thing as being found innocent. Only Not Guilty.Of course my thinking on what happened is that deal was shady as feck. UEFA as complicit as City, the leaks broke and UEFA panicked had to backtrack and investigate more thoroughly.
So I assume you will admit if found innocent that they indeed were and this entire forum (myself included) were plain wrong.
Of course but that's a misnomer, because in court, you are presumed innocent until proven guilty. This is not a criminal court of course, but same concept. There’s no such thing as being found innocent. Only Not Guilty.
