We just need a loan. Our regular LB and reserve are good enough.
Excuse me? I have watched Fernandez play many times. Can you not read? Also, where did I say that I want him to start for the next 3 months? Why are you making things up?"Multiple occasions for academy" - I will assume it as NO then. So a player who has absolutely no first team experience and you want him to start for next 3 months till Shaw is back.
Dalot won't be preferred because ETH prefer a left footed player to keep the width.
If you still don't get what's wrong with your post, I rest my case.
I would suppose this is what holds the move back right now. We are ready to pay £7m as loan fee provided we have a low-enough option to buy.
Not sure how much depreciation CFC are willing to accept on Cucurella, based on the staggering fee they paid for him. Would not put it past them to put a £30m option to buy, which to me is a no-go.
If the option to buy is £20m, go for it. I am sure he will live up to it.
I don't understand this notion about money. You will only buy him if he performs well for your team. In that case few quids extra won't bother you much.On their books, the remaining amortisation value for Cucurella will be of 33m£ next summer... at best (for us). Assuming no add-ons triggered, no sell-on clause and amortisation over 5 years. Worst case maybe 42m£~.
It does not help that we already have another meme of an ex-Chelsea player and that we don't know if he will ever be worth the money.
Exactly this, Chelsea and City were fighting for him. He’s not out the Chelsea team because he’s a bad player. It’s because they have too much competition. If he performs so well Shaw can’t get in the team then we pay what he’s worth based on his ability and performances. Simple.I don't understand this notion about money. I hope he performs well and become integral part of your team so that you will buy him and we got some money from him.
He's a better left back than Dalot,Does anyone think he's better than Dalot? Is he coming here to be a starter or understudy? Do we not trust Malacia?
He's been an absolute disaster at Chelsea, so are we looking at his work for Brighton and believing we can extract that? If yes, our whole method of attack has to be so much more assertive because he's really bad defensively and with Martinez and Casemiro on his inside channels and Rashford not tracking back, there's a real worry of us getting roasted by good flank play down our left with him in the team. On the other hand, if we manage to go the ultra attacking route, he'd be in his element.
EtH seems to be really intent on sticking to his attacking principles by even looking in this guy's direction.
well neither of us know how Sir Matt would feel from beyond the grave..
He was ruthless with young players (as was Ferguson) Neither “played the kids” out of any dogma about youth players. They played the Babes and 92 as they were exceptional talents.
The majority of our academy players get massively over hyped and amount to nothing. Half of them slip down the league pyramid and are never heard of again. I remember last preseason there were calls for Zidane and Charlie Savage to get a chance in the first team. Now Mainoo is the next big thing and Fernandez is one of our finest young talents. Nah, not for me. Our best so-called academy product is Gernacho, and he was signed from Atletico Madrid at 16

You'd back him over Dalot defensively, seriously? He's a better left back than Dalot,
Malacia is long term injured, as is Shaw, he is coming here to be a starter for the foreseeable then depending on Shaw's recovery possibly an understudy.
We have no senior left back currently, so this loan would cover that situation and offer us protection on the left side.
It's clear we cannot rely solely on a young player back there with our defensive fragility and Cucurella would offer us experience as well as attacking thrust.
Fernandez is shite in the grand scheme of things. Let’s get it right. There is no way he can come in and be left back. It isn’t going to happen and that’s a good thing.
We need a left back. If AWB or Dalot get injured we have no left back. Dalot is up and down form wise, he needs competition. We seen what Cucurella can do at Brighton. The whole chelsea team were rubbish last season. Not easy to play in that team last year. So, the feeling on here is that Marc Cucurella is streets ahead of Diogo Dalot at LB?
I hope you are correct but he has looked very average for Chelsea!
Dalot is volatile himself and isn't even a left back. Cucurella on a loan is such a low risk deal it's surprising there's pushback on it.So, the feeling on here is that Marc Cucurella is streets ahead of Diogo Dalot at LB?

I also don’t get why people can’t understand we need a left back. Plain and simple. And he’s as good as anyone we can get on loan right now in the market.Dalot is volatile himself and isn't even a left back. Cucurella on a loan is such a low risk deal it's surprising there's pushback on it.
The fact that you need to explain such a simple thing to some posters amazes me.We need a left back. If AWB or Dalot get injured we have no left back. ten Hag has assessed Fernandez over pre season and has decided he needs another loan and that tells you everything you need to know. He's not ready. It would be stupid to rely on a youngster and leave ourselves short of cover at full back.Okay, then remind me again how and why Marcus Rashford got his break under Louis van Gaal. If anything, there are some people all over the place in need of having their memories refreshed.
I prefer giving the kid a shot behind Dalot and then correct whatever mistakes can be corrected, all of that on a temporary basis and until our injured come back. Better do that than waste our time on an overpriced walking meme unable to make his claim in a club that ended in the bottom half of the table. It's already bad that we already inherited another meme from Chelsea.
Getting him on loan is a low risk strategy for both United and Chelsea, for United he's short term and will be desperate to reignite his career away from Stamford Bridge and for Chelsea he's off the books and if he plays well it secures his worth for next summer.
It's not an objective discussion - people can believe that Dalot and Fernandez are sufficient for the next 6-8 weeks while Shaw and Malacia recover. Taking that weird, snotty tone isn't a good look, particularly on a forum that exists for opinion and debate. The fact that you need to explain such a simple thing to some posters amazes me.
We are sadly not the most well drilled team either. I don´t think it is an easier task to come and perform for us than for Chelsea? We need a left back. Why are you amazed. He’s an awful player clearly out his depth at Chelsea. The fact that they are so eager to move him on so quickly knowing United’s situation says it all. He’s extremely unlikely to play the whole season for us. So in effect further reducing any value he has. He’s a joke signing for us if true and highlights and absolutely awful transfer window for ETH if true. The fact that you need to explain such a simple thing to some posters amazes me.
No he’s not an awful player in his last season he was 1st to 3rd for every defensive stat in the premier league. Why are you amazed. He’s an awful player clearly out his depth at Chelsea. Can anyone explain what's going on here? Is Cucurella always this timid with his passing?
No he’s not an awful player in his last season he was 1st to 3rd for every defensive stat in the premier league.
And why don't you remember, borthwick-jackson, Paddy McNair, Donald Love, Guillermo Varela?Okay, then remind me again how and why Marcus Rashford got his break under Louis van Gaal. If anything, there are some people all over the place in need of having their memories refreshed.
I'd rather have Alonso... and surely we should be prioritising Sofyan Amrabat - I have a feeling that's a deal that will fall through
Well yes, and then you look a bit closer and realise that literally half of the time he doesn't actually tackle the ball and that he loses more challenges than just about any player in the league - which is obviously a contributing factor to him consistently having Tal Ben Haim levels of atrocious defensive positioning:
Yes. He's basically the poster boy for completely sterile pointless possession:
What timeframe are you taking those stats from?
