He’s on €150k now right? Well, he can get 250 for all that I care. And I’d say sell in two years if he dont improve.
We have already got so many well paid average players who no one wants to sign. You want to add one more to it? We’d just end up paying him to be crap on loan for another club.

Well they're funded by an oil monarchy, they absolutely abide by an entirely different set of rules financially

They can spend till their hearts content while never taking on any debt, it's why Neymar, Messi and Mbappe are on deals that no other club bar City and Newcastle could afford.

Having their President being so cushy and buddy buddy with the UEFA hierarchy also doesn't hurt either.
Its beyond a joke now.

They have had huge losses for years and still they get to play in UCL.

I wish P$G and $hitty just vanished from football.

They can play in a own league where they can spend and cheat as much as they want.

Harvey Barnes is currently better than him.

I don’t understand the people that want him to stay. He can easily be replaced. Just another pre Madonna we don’t have to feel like we have to play.

 state of people in here...aye we are crying out for forwards and going to sell Rashford
We are crying for good forwards.

People were joyous over the 'virus' Pogba leaving and he's on a different altogether to Rashford.

I honestly believe that this is the Rashford PR machine creating a 'fake' demand for him, knowing that his contract renewal is coming up.

His performances don't beget a big renewal so the PR machine will do what it needs to. Our club will fold over and give him that contract that he wants, because that's how gullible we are!

For you to solve a problem you need to first acknowledge there is a problem. Our managers think there is nothing wrong with him. No tweakings at all in the way he plays. (Of course, they may have and choose not to listen) but seriously, I cant think of anybody who runs into defenders and cornering himself like rashford does.
He still standing there static af and IF he choose to turn up for that particular game (IF he is fit) he then runs into blind alleys losing possessions and continue standing still there. Odd goals here and there doesn't make him a very impactful player. Its been a long time since he actually exert a sustained measurable influence you come to expect from a manutd forward.
I.e PSG should take him so we need to look for way forward.

The club doesn't have the balls to sell him even though he's been horrible for 18 months now.

I hope we don't give him a new contract unless he significantly improves this season and surely he doesn't deserve a pay rise?

 Yes and who will want a 250k per week player who puts out 40K per week level performances?

The guy is on his last 2 years of contract. He hasn't played well for quite some time and we're well stocked at the LW department. I'd say sell him now and bring in a RW instead.

With how we're operating in the transfer market this summer, I really really don't see that. Maybe for another club, but the way we're flexing our muscles this summer, we're more likely to convert Shaw to an attacker.

Obviously its Rashfords team pushing or linking him with PSG, just so Utd offer him a bumper new deal, I doubt he'll get the money he's on else where, injury prone already.

If we sell Rashford, who plays LW?
There will be no concrete offer and i can't believe that there is any real interest. Just because his brother gets on the eurostar and goes to their office doesn't mean anything - the meeting would just have ended up with PSG reps laughing their heads off. Its more likely he just wanted a stadium tour.

We are being lured into the same old same old. Why would PSG be interested in such a limited player who last had an 8/10 game two years ago and last season with a whopping 5 goals cost us £2m per goal contribution.

Thank you for this little rant but it didn't quite answer my question :D

Could be media nonsense. Could be agent looking to encourage renewal.

Either way, if we give him a new contract with a higher amount it could further damage his relationship with fans which as it stands is seemingly already onthe floor.

I would be dumbfounded if we see in the coming 12 months he’s signed a new contract with improved terms. IMO he should either (preferably be sold) or offered extension on a reduced amount.

If PSG are genuinely interested in him, sell him. Rashford would probably do well in the French league, might have more time on the ball, defenders more likely to let him run in behind and less likely to press him relentlessly.

Basic question is: does Rashford want to leave United? If so, get him out, to any club that wants him. We've been carrying him since before the Euros. If he thinks he's better than United, there's the door, pal.

However, if he wants to stay, trigger the 1 year contract extension and see if ETH can turn him back into a real footballer. Sell in January if he's still shit, sell next summer if he's mediocre.

Recently Martial was persona non grata and people were hoping we'd sell him for his meat, and after Ronaldo's antics everyone suddenly wanted Martial to lead the line. A player can bounce back if they have the right attitude and the right coaching. To me it looks like Rashford's attitude is better now, and he's got a great coach, so we might get lucky.

Good point well made.

Garnacho would offer more consistently already but we are already being linked with Gakpo. We've also stated an interest in Ziyech who would free up Sancho to be an option on either wing.

Think these are the only somewhat realistic options, so agreed. Garnacho is an unknown quantity at this moment, could be brilliant could be terrible. I mentioned yesterday that at this particular moment, I think this poor version of Rashford is better than Gakpo, although it would also be one for the future of course.

Ziyech RW Sancho LW sounds sensible enough, I don't see it being much of an upgrade, though. So yeah, if we assume PSGs offer to be genuine and want to be opportunistic about it, I don't see it as a clear cut improvement for the upcoming season. Maybe Garnacho has a breakout season for the ages and I'm completely wrong, but it's quite a gamble

Your argument revolves around the assumption that Campos is perfect and is immune to making mistakes
Or that he's a very astute footballing brain who is prone to making good judgements maybe?

Cash in if the offer is reasonable. Buy Latauro Martinez, which instantly fixes our striker situation, and let that kid Garnacho have a go on the wing.

Go.

Me too, but would you want to rely on him for a full season?
No I would hope we sign Gakpo as well. Gakpo and Garnacho should be enough.

Also, there would be massive potential for the stadium to play Radio Gaga every time one of them scores...

Its funny to see people talk about rashford...its like he has a God given right to remain at united for eternity. Honestly, based on actually watching manutd, we should sell Rashford. He cant dribble, he cant finish and he doesnt fall back on the LW. A top team can only afford one player like rashford and we already have ronaldo who is way better at everything. Selling rashford is a no brainer. We can use that money to buy someone like Olise or Rafael leao or buy back zaha or just go back for anthony. Rashford will never be the answer for our left wing simply because he is terrible at doing the basics there. Now, rashford can accept to remain and eventually become a bench player but I think his best days are behind him in the premier league. Everything going forward will probably be performances that leave the fans disappointed interlaced with some where he scores a few goals. If he wasnt English this wouldnt even be a debate...Rashford would have been sold. He was absolutely part of the mutinous players last season who refused to the basics and yet he gets another season. Crazy

It's funny I was actually more against us selling Welbeck than I am against us selling Rashford. Despite Rashford at one point being one of the best young players in the world but his last 18 months I don't think he'll ever truly recover from, at least with us.

Rashford's contract is at a stage when we either throw huge piles of money at him so he extend his contract or we sell him for good money. If we delay then his transfer fee will shrink and we risk that he'll send us to feck off only to leave for free in a couple months time. That's what his very committed/United DNA mates at the academy (Lingard and Pogba) did after all. Now is he worth being given a long contract on silly money? The answer is definitely no. Should we sell? The answer is probably yes especially since we've got a ready made replacement in Sancho, a solid squad player in Elanga and one of the finest prospects in Garnacho. The latter will probably not sign a contract extension if he's not given game time.

United is said to have around 80m-90m yet to spend ie the De Jong & Rabiot money + another 10m-15m to spend on a striker. If we sell Rashford then we'll add another 60m-70m to the kitty. That's alot of money to go around. I'd say we go for Soler and Laimer who are both heading towards their last year of their contract and would probably cost us around the 60m mark and we then spend 50-60m for Moussa Diaby. That would leave us ample money for a striker and a RB.

All of this are pretty good points and I'm inclined to agree. The issue I'm seeing is United loaded with cash but little time to do business finding the correct players for the positions that need strengthening

If PSG actually bid then let him go.
He's been at best poor, and at worst disgraceful, for 2 years. He should have been sold the minute he put off an operation that cost him 3 months of the season all so he could play for England.
Garnacho on the wing is fine. Yes he's young, so was Giggs when he was made a regular; ditto Ronaldo (both of them), Owen, Rooney, Fowler, etc. It's hardly unheard of.

Agree with all of this. The only new contract we should offer Rashford is a 50% pay cut, because he’s not come near the levels expected of him when he signed his current deal.

The only issue is our Inability to bring in anyone in a timely fashion. I think we’d be short on bodies if we don’t find a replacement.

Time to sell and get rid of all the losers and mental goblins out of the club including Maguire/Shaw. This would make a big statement. We are not getting top 4, so might aswell blood the youngsters.

Makes me laugh how people slag off Barca fans for their treatment of players, then this thread is 99% slagging off Rashford.
Most people are saying it is better for both parties he moves on. That is not slagging off and no one is booing him.
