Okay so 2019/2020 season

Opener and only goal against Wolves

Winner against Partizan

Equalizer against Brugge

2nd goal against City (won 2-1)

Equalizer against Newcastle

Opener against Chelsea

Opener against City

Hat trick against Sheffield (I don't know how many of those you deem "important" but he scored the only goals in the game himself)

Go ahead goal against Southampton (but we ended up drawing so was it "important" in the end?)

That's just one season where he scored openers in big games, or winners/equalizers in the league and in the EL

After that it's largely been a gamut of injuries and playing non fit up until now, but saying he never scored important goals for us in his career is just strange.
Appreciate the time you took looking into that thanks

Just to note, I didn’t say in his career. I know he was more productive in the first half of his United career. And he did well during the Covid games.

Just seems to have been that way in recent years. And yes I know there’s been lots of injuries etc but even if you just take his last 20 goals it seems not many would be important. Most seem to have been when the team is already ahead. No arguments from me if it’s proved wrong and I will accept I’ve just remembered it wrong

Out of interest where did you find that info? I never know where to look for these stats

It's not strange, it's plain wrong as you have pointed out

Transfermarkt is my favorite of the sites because you can get overall stats, availability/stats for each game of the season in a competition, and also can get each match report with one click on a single page. Very easy to get a decent summation of a season from a given player.

How are you dismissing his 2015-16 first season with 17 goals as not a success out of interest?
Entirely fair question, I based it off 11 premier league goals which isn't enough for a Manchester United No 9, but taking into account his youth and cup goals I probably should have said 2 successful seasons.

Other than his shirt number, he also wasn’t a Manchester United No 9 that season either.

He will be fully fit and walking out of Carrington he will injure himself again.

He should of been gone a long time ago and another sign of the bad management under Ed Woodward. Injured more then not and not really a manchester united player. He has talent but is lacking the guts.

He played left wing in his first season and got 17 goals and was literally our only attacking threat so teams were double and triple marking him

Crazy how at every single professional club he has been at, it seems like he has never trully enjoyed his football, there are always problems either from himself and/or his surroundings.

At Monaco he was not very motivated to train.
At United when he started becoming familiar with the club, Jose came, took his jersey number and mutated him into a LW. A position he didnt prefer.
Then he was loaned out to Sevilla, again looking miserable when he was there.
He returned to United, had some good games, manager liked him but injuries hampered his availability and forms massively.

Will be one of those enigmas we will look back in a decade.

Give me the opposite of him please. Tenacious Tevez/Suarez type. Maybe not someone as talented as them as that’s clearly easier said to do than actually find but we’re crying out for a relentless attacker.

I think Garnacho and Rasmus are relentless. We just need to replace Rashford to get the 3 of them working as hard as any other attacking unit and to be fair Antony works really hard too.

That's a bit of a stretch - only 9 out of the 38 league games were played in empty stadiums.
The revisionist history is mad. It's like how Martial has apparently been at the club for almost 10 years for the past 3 seasons. Strawman arguments everywhere

I bet he doesn’t sign for another club. He’s so much money and clearly not motivated to play football. A product of been overpaid at United.
Why is he not motived to play football? He didnt like it at all when ETH took him off. The loan to Sevilla because he really wanted to play football. More like his body just cant play football anymore.

You clearly don't remember his career very well then.
Not really an illustrious career
His best season in the league was 2019/20 32 appearances, 17 goals. 53 appearances in all comps, 23 goals in all comps.
Since then due to injuries and poor performance it's been a massive downward spiral.
Last season 29 appearances for 9 goals, he doesn't even make up for with assists, in his whole career with United he only has 40 odd assists.
We basically bought him off the back of one good season with Monaco.

Quite insulting to De Gea, who was virtually alone in keeping us above relegation battles, to put him in the same sentence as Martial.
Never did that but he is enjoying his 350k/w since 2018 until he left. So Martial will probably do the same.

Fraud really is one of the most laughably misused words on here now isn't it
Yeah it’s the trendy word to use now when discussing any player or coach connected to United.

Replacing ‘embarrassing’ which was the previous buzz word.

De Gea was an utter fraud, there’s a reason why no team has gone near him after he stopped stealing a living from us.
Might possibly be because he's been used to United level football on over 300k a week, so understandably doesn't want to lessen his options going to some scuffler outfit.
