Yaaas Broncos!
Simple premise, I’ve seen maybe 3 or 4 of these films and we’ve decided to watch the whole lot.
What is the best order and why?
Go.

Yeah I got upto Age of Ultron and had to take a break. They’re ok films to pass the time but nothing great. Did really enjoy GotG though.Once you've seen 3-4 you've kind of seen them all.
So chronological over release date?
- Captain America: The First Avenger (takes place during WWII)
- Captain Marvel (takes place in 1995)
- Iron Man (takes place in 2010)
- Iron Man 2 (takes place after Iron Man)
- The Incredible Hulk (time unspecified, pre-Avengers)
- Thor (takes place six months before Avengers)
- The Avengers (takes place in 2012)
- Iron Man 3 (takes place six months after The Avengers)
- Thor: Dark World (post-Avengers, pre-Ultron)
- Captain America: Winter Soldier (post-Avengers, pre-Ultron)
- Guardians of the Galaxy (sometime in 2014)
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (after Guardians)
- Avengers: Age of Ultron (takes place in 2015)
- Ant-Man (takes place in 2015)
- Captain America: Civil War (post-Ultron, pre-Infinity War)
- Spider-Man: Homecoming (post-Civil War, pre-Infinity War)
- Doctor Strange (takes place in 2016)
- Black Panther (takes place in 2017)
- Thor: Ragnarok (post-Ultron, pre-Infinity War)
- Avengers: Infinity War (takes place in 2017)
- Ant-Man and The Wasp (ambiguous, but fits nicely between IW and Endgame)
- Avengers: Endgame (starts in 2017, finishes in 2022)
- Spider-Man: Far From Home (post-Endgame)
That's what I would do with a rewatch. So chronological over release date?
I'd take this list and cut out 2/3rds of them. Watching them over 15 years was a bit exhausting, trying to get through all in one go would be awful.

She gave the chronological order which kind of works well, but also by release date it perfectly wall. The main difference is that Captain America was released after the first (and maybe second) Iron Man (but the movies do not interfere with each other), and Captain Marvel was one of the last released movies though chronologically it is very early (however, again it makes no difference). So chronological over release date?
Getting bored yet or still enjoying it?Doing the order in the second post and I'm at iron man 3. Stuck in the house and what better to do?
@Rado_N if this is your feeling on the marvel universe then like Donaldo says just do these and obviously don't miss the Thanos ones, duh.Iron Man
Cap America Winter Soldier
Thor Ragnarok
Black Panther
The rest are different shades of shit.
Yea the idea came up as a way of filling some time so we may as well watch them all. I’m sure some will suck but feck it.@Rado_N if this is your feeling on the marvel universe then like Donaldo says just do these and obviously don't miss the Thanos ones, duh.
But if unlike Donaldo you do like sci fi comics and action films then watch them all ffs. It's like saying if you're a gangster movie buff watch the Godfather up to part two and don't bother about the third one cos it's not as good.
See it I've been enjoying itYea the idea came up as a way of filling some time so we may as well watch them all. I’m sure some will suck but feck it.
Still like itGetting bored yet or still enjoying it?
Chronological order sounds best (I'll watch them all again that way when get chance). You just have to power past stuff like Iron Man 2 and 3, and know there's better to come.Yea the idea came up as a way of filling some time so we may as well watch them all. I’m sure some will suck but feck it.
It was the 3rd most recently released of them. So it probably is assuming a level of prior knowledge. It'd probably be better placed after Infinity War for a first time viewer regardless of chronological order. Then again it was kind of a messy, disordered story in the first place so maybe its just the movie. As the “second” movie in the order I’m watching, Captain Marvel is confusing as feck. I feel like there’s an assumption of a lot of prior knowledge that I don’t have.
Should watch it after Infinity War or it'll just not work.As the “second” movie in the order I’m watching, Captain Marvel is confusing as feck. I feel like there’s an assumption of a lot of prior knowledge that I don’t have.
yeah. I agree with the post you quoted. Just be aware that captain marvel is one of the weakest of the bunch (Hulk and Thor 2 being the others. I would even argue Hulk should be skipped. Different actor for Hulk, different studio, and only a very mild link to the rest). Phase 1 is decent but once you reach Guardians of the Galaxy, they are all very good in my opinionSo chronological over release date?
I think I grasped enough as it went along to follow it. Some things are making sense now. Definitely a bit of a mess, though, agree there. It was the 3rd most recently released of them. So it probably is assuming a level of prior knowledge. It'd probably be better placed after Infinity War for a first time viewer regardless of chronological order. Then again it was kind of a messy, disordered story in the first place so maybe its just the movie.
I’m pretty much locked in to the order above now!Should watch it after Infinity War or it'll just not work.
The rest'll be fine. Captain Marvel, although largely set in the past, is very much a Phase 3 film.I’m pretty much locked in to the order above now!
Once you've seen 3-4 you've kind of seen them all.
Only after reading those 2 comments I've realised how truly awful a MCU marathon would feel like. I guess I never thought about it before — even when you watch them as per release date, the trops become repetitive, watching them movie after movie would feel like you're watching the same thing over an over again with some randomizer changing character's names every 3 hours.Watching them over 15 years was a bit exhausting, trying to get through all in one go would be awful.
Start with 1998's Nick Fury: Agent Of Shield.Simple premise, I’ve seen maybe 3 or 4 of these films and we’ve decided to watch the whole lot.

Which movie are you at right now?Yea the idea came up as a way of filling some time so we may as well watch them all. I’m sure some will suck but feck it.
Iron Man 2 will be tonight’s first viewing.Which movie are you at right now?
Doesn't it (Ant-Man and The Wasp) happened before Infinity War?
- Avengers: Infinity War (takes place in 2017)
- Ant-Man and The Wasp (ambiguous, but fits nicely between IW and Endgame)
- Avengers: Endgame (starts in 2017, finishes in 2022)
Id say the same time, but due to the ending you wanna watch it after IW.Doesn't it (Ant-Man and The Wasp) happened before Infinity War?
Only its ending happened just as soon as IW ended.
