I hope PSG get trash by City and PSG decide to hire Zidane. Pot can join us ASAP, what the point to bein in a club for 1 year if there is someone who is giving you a 5 years contract. I really think he can develop young players.
He probably will come. Hope for the best. Hopefully I am wrong about him and he is able to coach the team and bring successful football. He'll certainly be given the time to do so. I want nothing more than United to be a source of hope and joy again. But I'm definitely skeptical. I think Spurs was his level, all the "great work" he did there culminated in finishing 2nd once and fluking his way to a CL final IMO. If he comes and we actually look a well coached team for one, I'll probably be happy enough considering the past 8 years. So the standards are pretty low.Be pretty awkward for the posters on here who have hammered him for years, if he comes here.
Different times but quite comparable.
Ajax are fighting the financial muscle of PSG, Real, Chelsea, Man City etc etc and making a Semi Final and this season unbeaten thus far?
I highly doubt Fergie in his pomp could manage to do the same, I mean in nearly 30 years at United he struggled to do it twice. That's the cold harsh reality but folks today seem to think winning trophies is a piece of pish.
Get your point, but not sure I agree. Bruno press relentlessly. Same with Fred if he can. Sancho used to press for Dortmund, and if that is an issue use Lingard while we can on RW. Hell, use Cavani as a wide attacker. Or Donny (who also is well accustomed to pressing). We won't have anyone left to field if that's the case, these players have been instructed to press before but fail to actively do it on the pitch.
Used to, I don't believe for a second that he was told not to press by Ole and the coaches, it just boils down to the player and if he wants to. These players know that even if the manager drops them, they're held in such high regard by the higher ups, that they can kick up a fuss and get the manager shown the door.
As impressive as his own trophy cabinetYep, those Español, Southampton and Spurs trophies have really been rolling in since he left…
It's fair to say that Tottenham revenues and budget are about 2.5 higher than Ajax.No one saying that Ten Hag is a bad coach.
So were Spurs not fighting the same financial muscle yet got to the final?
I am trying to say that there isnt much in between the two, yet some fans seem to think Ten Hag is at a higher level than Poch. The poster was talking about Poch's career and hardly won anything but he improved every team he went into. Ten Hag is older than Poch and has less managerial experience, with all his experience coming in the dutch league.
Of course he was and I'm absolutely not against Poch being next United manager, simply pointing out this narrative that cause Ten Haag manages Ajax that automatically means he isn't suitable for United as was suggested on the comment I replied to.No one saying that Ten Hag is a bad coach.

Yeah and he is in Manchester tomorrowWow a lot of smoke surrounding this all of a sudden.
I would be very excited if this happened.
Its also fair to say Ajax probably have the highest Revenue and budget in the Dutch LeagueIt's fair to say that Tottenham revenues and budget are about 2.5 higher than Ajax.
Kind of missing the point. This is 1st time he’s been in a seat where he should be winning things, let’s see how he does this season but he’s won 1 minor cup, is walking Ligue 1 and will be intriguing to watch them in the CL.As impressive as his own trophy cabinet
Yep, I agree with that. IMO, both candidates have huge question marks over what they can do with a bigger club, we can see Poch at PSG struggling to implement his playing style. Its all well and good getting average / good players to follow instructions, its a different ball game asking big egos to do the same.Of course he was and I'm absolutely not against Poch being next United manager, simply pointing out this narrative that cause Ten Haag manages Ajax that automatically means he isn't suitable for United as was suggested on the comment I replied to.
Both are talented young coaches who have done good work at their respective clubs, neither are absolutely perfect and there are concerns over both still of course but both would be vast improvements on Ole I'm sure.
I mentioned it before it's twice as big as the next club but your point was about Spurs CL performances compared to Ajax, wasn't it?Its also fair to say Ajax probably have the highest Revenue and budget in the Dutch League
Spurs are behind United, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool.
Yes, they got to semi, Spurs got to the final.I mentioned it before it's twice as big as the next club but your point was about Spurs CL performances compared to Ajax, wasn't it?
Poch is arguably the next best after your Pep's, Klopps and Tuchels...Yep, I agree with that. IMO, both candidates have huge question marks over what they can do with a bigger club, we can see Poch at PSG struggling to implement his playing style. Its all well and good getting average / good players to follow instructions, its a different ball game asking big egos to do the same.
Yep, on paper Poch definitely suits Manutd, the squad suits him, so lets hope we can get someone in within the next few weeks rather than waiting till the summer.Poch is arguably the next best after your Pep's, Klopps and Tuchels...
Poch and PSG was / is a bad fit, was very surprised he took the job, but reckon he felt he had to at the time to stay in the picture of top European clubs.
I think he's wanted the United job now for a few years and will try force this through hopefully.
Its a win win, gets rid of Carrick an Co and we get a superior coach in the door and PSG get ZZ whom they've wanted for a while with their whole "Galactico" mentality.
I'm getting that feeling too. There's like a story out there ready to write itself. Even BBC are publishing Poch being open to an approach.I hope PSG get trash by City and PSG decide to hire Zidane. Pot can join us ASAP, what the point to bein in a club for 1 year if there is someone who is giving you a 5 years contract. I really think he can develop young players.

Ban him.If Pochettino comes to us, what are we going to do about @Amadaeus?
There is hardly a preseason this summer. The season starts early due to the world cup so he would get maybe two weeks with the player once they have all had their holidays.I've been fan of Pochettino since his first season at Spurs or so and still rate him but no doubt there are still some question marks about him. Whole PSG stint is odd, good results but not so good performances without a clear style of play, judging on his Southampton and Spurs days you wouldn't expect Pochettino's team to be without identity. Don't think he's enjoying it there, it's a team full of stars and that probably doesn't suit him. Don't think he'd have that problem at United, at least not to that extent. You could classify Ronaldo, Pogba, Bruno, Rashford as stars but not to an extent of Mbappe/Neymar/Messi, and Pogba is most probably leaving in summer anyways.
Back when he was at Tottenham he was interested in both van de Beek and Bruno so he'd have them now. I even believe we bought them, not only for Ole, but potentially for Pochettino, especially Bruno, he came in January 2020 when there were those crisis with results, Burnley loss etc. Young players could benefit from working with him as well.
Ideally it would maybe be better ih Pochettino was to come in summer though as it gives him time to work with team in preseason.
He's going to toss his passport out the window once he gets to Manchester and refuse to leave the country.
Is it ridiculous?Posts like these are utterly ridiculous. Comparing Poch to Ole is just a waste of everyone's time if you're trying to argue any case.
Poch has a body of work behind him that suggest he's the sort of manager people on these very boards have been raving for. He's managed Espaniol, Southampton and Tottenham and had done an excellent job in all of them and we got to see the way he gets his teams to play which is how we've been wanting to play for a while now.
You people love bringing up this trophy less argument without looking at all the nuances. He managed Espaniol, Southampton and Spurs, not Barcelona, Madrid or United.
Thank you for mentioning this. I hate this nonsense where we just casually write off entire season and wait for next one when the current one can still be salvaged. Enough of that bulljive already. There is hardly a preseason this summer. The season starts early due to the world cup so he would get maybe two weeks with the player once they have all had their holidays.
Get him in now, the club need to stop writing off seasons!
Tbh, had he taken over when Jose left, I would have been delighted. He does have a kind of 'damaged goods' feel to him now though, as the past 18 months have been pretty underwhelming from him. I would rather Ten Hag, but if not, then I would certainly take him ahead of Rodgers and Zidane. He probably will come. Hope for the best. Hopefully I am wrong about him and he is able to coach the team and bring successful football. He'll certainly be given the time to do so. I want nothing more than United to be a source of hope and joy again. But I'm definitely skeptical. Forgot about World Cup and short preseason. I'm not writing off this season, with an interim like Blanc or Rangnick instead of Carrick we'd probably have strong 2nd half of season. But if this Pochettino to United, Zidane to PSG deals are possible, then fine. There is hardly a preseason this summer. The season starts early due to the world cup so he would get maybe two weeks with the player once they have all had their holidays.
Get him in now, the club need to stop writing off seasons!
Not exactly what we want... if we can get Pochettino asap, then I guess it's fine, we'll see what happens. If we're waiting until the end of the season for Poch, then that's just throwing away a season for a very "meh" option to come on which makes no sense.Tweet

I would be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt as he was managing 'lads it's Spurs'. It's in their DNA to be an easy touch as shown by them being our only win in the league in monthsNot exactly what we want... if we can get Pochettino asap, then I guess it's fine, we'll see what happens. I'd take Poch now as we need some one immediately and he is probably one of the top 3 who may be realistic. If you NEED to wait till the summer then it's a 'no' on Poch for me.Not exactly what we want... if we can get Pochettino asap, then I guess it's fine, we'll see what happens. Tottenham are budget wise, arguably the 6th of the top 6 even during his time, so a point a game, which is essentially a draw is fair performance I'd think? Not exactly what we want... if we can get Pochettino asap, then I guess it's fine, we'll see what happens. Yep 1 month doesn't seem long but considering its 8 games and were currently 8th as is... massive concern alright.Tweet

This seems plausible. Ten Hag was always just a pipe dream I guess. Carrick and the same failing coaching staff for the next month then...yay.
This guy knowsHe is going to stop posting, too busy managing. It's Pochettino.
Yeah, our season will be dead and buried if Carrick just continues where Ole left off.Yep 1 month doesn't seem long but considering its 8 games and were currently 8th as is... massive concern alright.
Ideally need him ASAP.
I mean a lot of these were in charge of Southampton. And Spurs are hardly fecking Man City, are they? Not exactly what we want... if we can get Pochettino asap, then I guess it's fine, we'll see what happens.
