Been great first half sweeping up everything that comes near him. Some people will never appreciate players like him but I do. Best player on the pitch to bad everybody else has been shocking.
I think defensifely he puts in a good shift, but in possession he's just substandard, he cant pass or dribble and for a supposed box-to-box, thats really bad.Bang average as always.
To me Fellaini offers far moreWhy did he not play vs City?
Apparently Fellaini is a better holding player?
I am just fed up of these kind of crazy decisions that are costing us
God help us. Our midfield have barely passed the ball again. Running into a few tackles does not make a midfielder. He's been very good, him and Herrera have been our best players so far.
Why would our defensive destroyer in front of the back four dribble with the ball?He cant pass or dribble.
Because he isnt a defensive destroyer, he's a box to box. And even the likes of Kante , Dier and Wanyama are better on the ball than he is.Why would our defensive destroyer in front of the back four dribble with the ball?
Which is exactly what Fellaini has been doing, but he's somehow revitalised. I think Kag has summed it up well.I think defensifely he puts in a good shift, but in possession he's just substandard, he cant pass or dribble and for a supposed box-to-box, thats really bad.
He's not playing as a box-to-box and the latter two are most definitely not.Because he isnt a defensive destroyer, he's a box to box. And even the likes of Kante , Dier and Wanyama are better on the ball than he is.
That's what defenders are for. Midfielders need more to their game. His job is to stop their attacks and is doing it very well so far.
Fellaini is actually a better dribbler (yeah seems crazy to read) and better going forwars than Schneiderlin, more goalscoring threat.Which is exactly what Fellaini has been doing, but he's somehow revitalised. I think Kag has summed it up well.
He's just a very limited player in truth. Just seems so pointless.I think defensifely he puts in a good shift, but in possession he's just substandard, he cant pass or dribble and for a supposed box-to-box, thats really bad.
No he isn't. He's sat infront of the back four tasked with breaking up the play. He's doing his job, those ahead need to do theirs.Because he isnt a defensive destroyer, he's a box to box. And even the likes of Kante , Dier and Wanyama are better on the ball than he is.
They really are, we are playing a 433 with the centre midfield pointed forwards, that insinuates 2 box to box and an AM.He's not playing as a box-to-box and the latter two are most definitely not.
Schneiderlin is by far the better player defensively and Fellaini is the worst passing midifelder we have.To me Fellaini offers far more
Way more aggressive and physical for that role and for me a much better passer
I'm talking about tonight. He's our defensive midfielder and is doing his job very well. That's what defenders are for. Midfielders need more to their game.
No, we are playing with a sitting midfielder with two in front. They really are, we are playing a 433 with the centre midfield pointed forwards, that insinuates 2 box to box and an AM.
Slightly exaggerated but I generally agree. Technically I don't think he's a better passer but he at least passes with purpose. Schneiderlin's passing is infuriatingly stupid. To me Fellaini offers far more

Pass the ball occassionally? I love how the experts know his explicit instructions. I doubt hiding when we have the ball is one of them.I'm talking about tonight. He's our defensive midfielder and is doing his job very well.
What else should he do when he's clearly told to sit in front of the defense?
You only need to watch the fecking game.Pass the ball occassionally? I love how the experts know his explicit instructions. I doubt hiding when we have the ball is one of them.
He actually is a better passer. Which shouldn't even be possible. To me Fellaini offers far more

Funny, considering that Herrera doesnt play significantly higher up the pitch that Morgan, especially when we dont have possession. When we do Morgan stays behind more, luckily, as he doesnt have much use higher up the pitch. No, we are playing with a sitting midfielder with two in front.
Plenty here struggle with that concept, we have Pogba, Herrera, Martial, Mata and Rashford to do the creating. He's performing his duties very well. His job is to stop their attacks and is doing it very well so far.
Carrick plays in front of a defence too. He can still pass the ducking ball into our forwards. In no way is a midfielder being sent onto the pitch with the sole instruction of diving into tackles and then scurrying away. You only need to watch the fecking game.
Hence why he sits deep? Because thats where he is useful? Typically thats where you want your defensive midfielders to play.Funny, considering that Herrera doesnt play significantly higher up the pitch that Morgan, especially when we dont have possession. How is he our defensive destroyer when Herrera plays on about the same line when Feyenoord have the ball. Herrera furthermore doesnt play as high up the pitch as Pogba obviously so I dont think we play with a CVM, rather Pogba as a 10 and Herrera and Schneiderlin as box to box as the teamsheet also suggested. Probably Schneiderlin did get the instruction to limit runs and stay behind more so than Herrera. If he was solely a DM, thats an acceptable performance, still poor in possession as he adds absolutely nothing to our buildup.Hence why he sits deep? Because thats where he is useful? Herrera drops deep when we dont have the ball and plays like a traditional box to box when we do have it.
No he doesn't, but we have Rashford, Mata, Martial, Herrera, Pogba and now Ibra and Memphis to do that. His job is to win the ball back and move it on, just like a traditional defensive midfielder. How is he our defensive destroyer when Herrera plays on about the same line when Feyenoord have the ball. Na its not mate. He was just as invisible last season. I have no idea how it does it. He avoids the ball. This is probably the most invisible performance I've seen since Liam Milner. Absolutely shocking
Yeah it's a very difficult concept to grasp, in fairness. Takes a real football guru to get your head around it.Plenty here struggle with that concept, we have Pogba, Herrera, Martial, Mata and Rashford to do the creating. He's performing his duties very well.
He is a holding mid. It's his speciality. He's doing ok, but he's not a holding mid, especially in a 433. Would have liked to see him in a 4231 with Pogba or Herrera.
