Surely if late or lazy fine them a weeks wages first time in that week and if late or lazy in training a second time in that week, drop them for the next game. If it keeps happening let the press know why they aint being picked and transfer list them. Tell the player there is a route back by turning up on time and getting stuck in. This puts the onus on the player then to go down the path of staying or going. Once other players see this happening it will make them think twice. If it doesnt it will out them as not being worth keeping anyway.

And who would buy a player that has been publicly outed as a lazy troublemaker?

If Utd put Sancho up for sale at £20/25 mill and he agreed to go (his high wage here not being replicated by buying club not an issue) Someone would take him. Depends how low you go to get shut of a player.

Matic was a real proffesional. Wish we had signed him 10 years earlier. Good on him calling players out.
what we needed was a strong manager…

feck me, the absurdity of it all. If my staff were consistently late, with no good reasons, they would be jobless in 2 months.

No surprise this bunch of overpaid wankers think they’re above the rules. They’ve seen off countless managers over the years
Who are “they” here?

The only ones I can think of to have more than 2 managers are Lindelöf (shite but a good pro and national team captain), Shaw (maybe our best player?), McTom (doesn’t strike me as one with a poor attitude)….

That then leaves only Martial & Rashford? We’re surely not pretending a sick note and Rashford had/have the power to see off countless managers?

What concerns me most in these comments is not the persistent lateness from a number of players, but the fact that those players who were on time had to take it upon themselves to form an 'internal disciplinary committee'!? Why on earth were the players the ones leading this, it couldn't have boded well for the team's spirit and surely it would've been a source of resentment or a cause for tension among players. This is the responsibility of a manager and to outsource or totally neglect this kind of discipline to the point that players themselves take the initiative is pretty alarming.
It's a fairly common thing in Football and Sport. Not so long ago someone mentioned the one Chelsea had. They also exist in US sports. Players have to put money in a collective pot that is generally used to pay for dinners or things like that.

He was talking sense until he suggested the money would go on a party in London.

What sort of disincentive is that supposed to be? A tiny fine is not really going to worry a Man United player at the best of times, but if it's going towards something they personally derive benefit from all credibility is killed instantly.

Apart from that it's largely what we know and expect from certain individuals.
