Bruno should be captain given that he pretty is already.

Casemiro, Licha as vice captain. Varane I wouldnt give to based on fitness.

Rashford isnt vocal enough on the pitch and not sure about Shaw for some reason.

I can see why Bruno is the obvious candidate for most but I’d choose Martinez myself. One of maybe 3/4 who will start most games. He is probably the most familiar with the system that Ten is still trying to implement at United so can instruct on the field with details others may miss. Of course he probably does this anyway but it can’t hurt. Mainly though I like his warrior mindset.

I considered both Varane and Casimero but due to availability and age I ruled them out. I’d like the next captain to potentially be in place and a starter for the completion of the cycle, so like 3/4 years. My main reservation with Bruno is I sometimes feel his outbursts on the pitch aren’t executed the best. A rollicking can be warranted, but time and place maybe not the best.

Surprised no one has mentioned Luke Shaw, he’s our longest serving member of the team and undisputed first choice. I also seem to recall him doing post match interviews after disappointing results last season which I thought did very well given the circumstances.

Bruno is not captain material. Should be Licha. Who cares how long he's been here. A leader is a leader.

He completely collapsed in the second half vs Liverpool in the 7-0. Genuinely one of the worst performances I've seen at a professional level. That alone rules him out for me.

Meanwhile Bruno was lashing out at linesmen.

I’m sure it’ll be Bruno as he’s pretty much been the captain for the last year. I’d give it to Martinez personally. His mentality is infectious and he doesn’t spend the whole game following the ref moaning and looking for excuses when he loses the ball. He leads by example.

It will be Bruno given he probably is our main leader in this squad. I dont think he is the best leader given how much he complains but im grateful that Maguire is not it. I'd love to see Martinez as captain for his aggression and crack on attitude. Either way, hopefully yhis means Maguire moves on.

Should be Varane or Casemiro. They’re two of the most successful players in recent football history who’ll bring confidence and authority to the armband

But it’ll be Fernandes

Definitely Bruno is main captain. Vice could be any of casemiro, Shaw or Varane. Possibly Rashford too. That order would be my preference. Martinez one day.

What’s great to see, though, is there are 4-5 candidates.

When Maguire was made captain, the squad was absolutely starved of leaders.

As much as I like Varane, the guy’s missed like 40% of the league games since he got here, can’t have that in a captain.

Any of Bruno, Martinez or Casemiro works.

Mount. He is the only player passing ETH all 83 principles.

Seriously should be Bruno, followed by Varane and Casemiro.

I can actually see it being Mount in a couple of years depending on our success.

Seniority never made sense as an argument. Get the most senior player a carriage clock and armband to the player that would do a better job
