It's about time we have a manager that made decisions. Got nothing against Maguire, he's given his best in the shirt and is a good professional, but change needed to happen. Same with De Gea, he was a brilliant buy for the club, brilliant player for a long time for us, but again you can't continue to ignore decisions that need making. I think Maguire has a lot to offer at the right club still, and should make the decision to leave and play football again. Its fairly obvious Bruno Fernandes will succeed Harry Maguire as the next Utd captain.

Casemiro (c), Martinez (vc), likely Bruno though but the 2nd half debacle at Liverpool is definitely a red flag.

Not Bruno, whilst he talks the talk, I don't like him when he is supposed to walk the walk. When we are losing the game, captain is the one to lift the team up, support them, and do that himself as an example, not him, he looses his mind, gets engry, starts to bitch, moan, argue, and goes down with a breeze. His focus and concentration are then very low and he just kicks the ball without thinking. When the going gets tough, Bruno does not get going. Loves to blame his team mates for his own mistakes, that is what captains do, right?
Also don't like him when he thinks he has to do everything on the pitch and be everywhere on it. Like he owns the club so he can do whatever he wants to.

Stopped liking him when he said "we have nothing to fight for" after losing against Liverpool a year ago.
That is not a leader or captain material.

The full and accurate quote this time.

"Liverpool is fighting for the title, that is the difference. We are not fighting for nothing."

"We have to look at ourselves, from top to bottom and understand what is going wrong. We are competing until the end. Nobody can put down and think it is over. We have something to fight for."

Why do people want Martinez?

He has played 27 games for us. He will be in contention later, at this time the only reasonable choice is Bruno

Just let those 2 be brilliant players. No need to give them the captaincy. Half the problem with Maguire was he was given the armband as soon as he walked through the door.

It will be Bruno and it should be Bruno

It should be Bruno, but if you were to ask which player has the most substantial impact on team performance, it’s Casemiro.

It took him only one match under his belt before he had the prem sorted and is our talisman.

Oh great some posters are letting facts get in the way of a good moan

Next you'll be explaining how that gif of Moyes fist-pumping a draw against Fulham in the 81st minute was photoshopped because Bent actually scored the equaliser in extra time.

You people. It's almost like you don't know how to post in the mains.

The correct answer is Lindelof btw.

It will be Bruno and rightly so.

Casemiro and Martinez are good leaders but they've been here a season.

I just feel Martinez is Ten Hag's 'guy'. Like I think Licha would run through a brick wall time and time again for Ten Hag and ETH knows it. I'm not too sure ETH is totally convinced with Bruno.

One of Bruno, Martinez , Casemiro.
Considering Bruno is at the club the longest he’d get it and deservedly so.

Bruno. No question.

Erik should have a word with him to be more composed and concentrate on rallying the team, rather than complaining to the referee for every little thing (Maguire was guilty of this trait too).

It would be good to see a leader who could set the team and rile them to show a reaction to a controversial decision, rather than shout and whinge like a child.

Captain - Bruno.
Vice - Martinez.

Whilst I think Bruno can be too hot headed for a Captain, he's fast becoming Mr. Manchester United.

Wouldn't mind licha actually, but Bruno is the most vocal, and de facto face of the club. Very surprised if it's not him.

Either Martinez, Casemiro or Varane, with Bruno remaining the vice captain

How amazing is it that there's a choice of 3 or 4! A few years a go it was hard to pick one out as captain material.

If not Bruno, Martinez between him and Varane because of longevity. Casemiro's English is lacking, so cannot be him even if he's best choice outside the language factor.

Surprised there are so few calls for Varane (due to injuries?)

Champions League and World Cup winner.

Was set to be named the Real Madrid captain before United signed him

Bruno has been the unofficial captain for a year and we have people saying he's not captain material? Well clearly ten Hag and the players disagree. Must be doing something right...

Martinez for me. Bit of the Roy Keane in him. I don’t think he would shy away from digging out our own players when they go into hiding mode when things aren’t going well.

I’d go with Bruno, with one of casemiro or Varane as vice captains.

I hope that somewhere down the line, licha can captain this club too.

Casemiro is the only right answer.
