I'll be extremely disappointed if it is anyone else other than Ten Hag. If it's the Cappuccino guy who was at Tottenham I might Kill myself.

Poch supposedly wanting to leave now massively strengthens our bargaining power. If we do fancy ten Hag over him, then we're in a position to tell him "Well there's this other chap we're pretty keen on who's made himself available now... you'll have to force a move or miss out."
Poch has always been liked by SAF, has worked with Levy which would stand him in good stead with the owners and he certainly wouldn't upset the apple cart. I hope we can get this done.

This is true, but I suspect he was never that high up on the board's list of preferred targets. I'm fairly confident Poch is their main target - the club and SAF have always had a hardon for him.

He did at Spurs... lost his composure by the end

Honestly if Poch wants to come right now it's probably best to get him. I like Ten Hag a bit more though.

I'm happy with either Poch or Ten Hag. It will be most likely Poch. He is willing to come even mid season. This is the right mindset and attitude. I think this is the right appointment. Finally, after 4 wrong managers since SAF retired.

I was surprised Poch was sacked by Spurs. He was to them SAF was to us.
He punched above the weight for many years while losing his best players and doing it with minimal spending.

Why not look at Graham Potter.
Did amazing work with Östersund in Sweden (He even managed to beat Arsenal).
To be honest, Brighton is playing better fotball than us at the moment.

If ten Hag is open to come in the summer, and the club is willing to bring in a real DF, then I rather wait for ten Hag, if not, then Poch now would be ideal.

Best solution is a good interim until the end of the season, but even then if we go for with ten Hag and not change the setup at the club, then he probably won’t succeed, so probably going for Poch now would be the best solution.

Winning the french league with Messi Neymar and Mbappe counts for absolutely feck all. A monkey could pick their team every week with a bingo machine and still walk the league.
Does winning the Dutch league as Ajax manager count for much either?

The Cappuccino guy?

Also, the fact he is ready to leave behind a squad with the riches of PSG is a great sign for us. No way should we be considering begging the likes of Zidane or waiting for an ETH. I really think we'd be in safe hands with either Erik or Poch though.

Why do you want Ten Hag over Cappuccino guy?

Honest question, have you watched Ten Hag's team very often/as much as Poch or is it based on the hype?

If Poch is ready to join now, better him now than waiting for Ten Hag till summer. I don't really see us getting good interim manager otherwise and we need a good coach to make top 4. Don't want to see Varane and Ronaldo playing Europa next season ffs. Otherwise if both are available at same time (either now or in summer), I prefer Ten Hag over Poch.

80% of the league plays better football than us at the moment to be fair

Poch fits the profile that the owners want, has SAF on his side and wants the job now. I'd be surprised if this doesn't happen to be honest.

1. City knock out PSG
2. PSG sack Poch - seeing as they don't seem to love him anyway, there are rumours about him and us plus Zidane is available
3. PSG get Zidane
4. We get Poch

This seems far more likely than any other scenario I can think of.

This is exactly how I feel.

Although, I'm certain if United pushed, they could get Ten Hag now.

I guess it depends on which one the board want

Fair play to those holding onto the ETH dream. It’s going to be Poch. We’ll go for ETH next most likely (assuming he’s not gone to city)

Yeah I am crossing everything he doesn’t go elsewhere in the Premier League, then at least means there is still a possibility of him managing here one day

He has brilliant potential but are we really in a position to take a gamble of epic proportions?

You would have thought an ability to handle big players, CL experience, experience at large clubs are probably pretty vital at this stage. It has to be considered that the next manager is not walking into a garden full of roses where it's a continuation of work already undertaken by a footballing structure.

Big ask to think a Brighton manager is the one. It would make more sense if we had a style, we had an understandable recruitment policy, and these things were aligned with the inexperienced but high potential manager. As it is I think the job is too big.

His progress in the CL with a team constantly stripped of its best players, along with promotion of young talent outweighs anything Poch has done bar one hot streak with Harry Kane in the form of his life. Poch has never rebuilt a team to acheive those same heights and IMO his style of play isn't on the same level either.

What Ten Hag has done with Haller makes you wonder what he could do with Ronaldo.

This would mean we throw away one month of a tightly packed schedule to save some dough instead of giving us (and Poch) the best chance to get top 4 and ensure we stay in the CL.

We got 8 games until 22nd December and we can’t really afford to keep Carrick for more than 2-3 games at the very most. You have to do it ASAP basically.

The last 2 days should have done 2 weeks ago during the international break but there we fecking go our board are incompetent and slow on the uptake.

Could have had him for free a little over a year ago.
Yep. We had that window open last year when Ole was having awful results and all that was needed was just pull the trigger but instead the board let Ole ride out the storm and got himself a chance to bounce back with unexpected victories over Spurs and City. Should have hired Poch then.

Exactly. Can feel that Poch want it more. This means a lot to us. He has already show his hands. Now it's up to the executives of both clubs and hopefully something can be done now rather than in the summer.

Poch also has very good EPL experience.

I feel you, I think if he goes to City they’d just continue their dominance. However football moves quickly, if we go through a similar cycle with Poch (hopefully winning a trophy or two) there may be a new kid in the block. The guy at Sporting is being touted as the next best thing. There will be others.

If we can get Poch now then we should probably do that.

Ten Hag is my number one choice but if Poch will leave PSG for us and Ten Hag won't leave Ajax then maybe Poch is the man.

Finding s caretaker to save our season would be tough

Yeah does say a lot about who wants it more, also that article about the Ajax staff that Ten Hag wants in place. Clearly he doesn't know how closed we are to major structural changes.

can we play that game though with our current squad. Ronaldo doesn't press, our midfield isn't comfortable in possession. It might be why these managers would prefer to come in next season, so they can add a couple of players to more suit their preferred style of play
They also wouldnt be tanited by the current season

personaly I don’t think we ever should have hired Ole full time and tried everything to get poch that summer when Ole’s interim contract was going to expire
