NFL Playoffs

This is bulletin board material for the Raiders, but to get in the spirit, here you go:

From todays, NY Post:

It happened behind closed doors, and what Herm Edwards said to his team, and the way he said it, with passion, with conviction, and where it came from, from the bottom of his heart, fueled every last Jet with unwavering belief that they will defeat the Raiders today and move within 60 minutes of the Super Bowl. "Take a look at me," an animated and steely-eyed Edwards barked at a mid-week team meeting inside Weeb Ewbank Hall. "When we get 40, take a look at me [on the sidelines], 'cause I'm gonna say, ‘Get some more. Beat them down, men.' "

If the Jets can get some pressure on Gannon, they should win. Enjoy the game!

I'm really looking forward to this game I have to say.

I'm off to watch. Cheer for Gang Green! Good Luck today with your team Dan, seems like you had a good day yesterday.

Quite a blasphemous statement on my part but coming up now is Match Of The Day ;)

Pennington has gone off the boil hasn't he? Raiders to win this one for me I'm afraid.

Yeah quite - the Oakland defense was something else I thought, helped of course by Pennington's errant throwing.

I managed to jump 45000 places in the fantsay league......................to 15000th!

Like I said. It's extremely difficult to win in Oakland in the playoffs, especially when the visiting team played the previous week and the Raiders had a bye. The crowd/atmosphere in that stadium is absolutely electric.

I can't see the Titans beating them - McNair is banged up apparently and without him their offence will be pretty impotent I think. The Raiders in the Superbowl then, but against who? I thought Tampa's offense looked good but am not convinced they can play like that against Philly. Having said that I though the Eagles looked pretty lame on offense this weekend, so I guess we're in for a low scoring game - I'll go with the Tampa.

The Bucs have traditionally had trouble both playing in the cold and playing against the Eagles. I think they'll come in with a new sense of momentum this year and keep it close, and possibly pull off the upset.

Dito, the Eagles are the better team IMO but the Vet has been the end of the road for the Bucs two years in a row now. Have a feeling the Bucs won´t let that happen for the third time ...

Davis v Gruden in San Diego would be funny ...

Raoul was right in that it was a tough spot, especially with a young QB, but I really expected Pennington to play better. Yesterday, he was uncharacteristically inaccurate and the turnovers really hurt. But credit Oakland's defense for that. Pennington will learn from it and I expect him to have a great game when the Jets visit Oakland next year.

Oakland had good pressure on Pennington and the Jets had little against Gannon. Props to the Oakland coaching staff. Their second half adjustments obviously were better than the Jets and they did a great job of keeping the ball away from the Jet return men. The better team won yesterday and I really like Oakland's chances to win the Super Bowl.

Eagles opened at 3 1/2 points over the Bucs. Raiders are 7 over the Titans.

My fantasy for the next round :

McNair, Steve TEN
Garner, Charlie OAK
Alstott, Mike TB
Brown, Tim OAK
Porter, Jerry OAK
Jolley, Doug OAK
Nedney, Joe TEN
Buccaneers TB

And after all this, when I finally claim first place the $4500 worth prize won't be available to me unless I move to Canada or the US.

Eagle-Bucs game should be great. These yeams really hate each other. Philly's Mitchell is calling Sapp "Warren Sackless."

Philly has been able to run the ball behinf their huge offensive line right at the smallish TB defense. TB must stop that to have a chance. I agree with Raoul that TB may pull off the upset. I also think that Tenn will keep it close.

Raucous atmosphere at Philly - good crowd, the yanks can create some good noise with a bit of singing thrown in - I'm amazed!

Good game plan by Tampa to go with the short yardage plays and a no huddle offense. Looks like this may be the game of the night after all.

Good feckin game. 10-7 Tampa end of the first.

17-10 at the half, much more exciting than i thought it was going to be and 29pts already for my fantasy team with only 3 people playing! i really feel like an American who has been checking out all the stats, although the eagles will probably come out firing in the second half and ruin me.

So far--midway through the third period, the Iggles are merely mis-firing. :) I hope McNabb turns it over again.

Barber had a stormer, he was all over the place and then the TD to top it all off. Now for the raiders to put up a big score and i'll be flying up the fantasy table. You have to love Gruden saying he is one of the top 50 good looking blokes in the world in his interview Imagine one of the Premiership managers saying that

He came up against the number one defense in the league and they proved it - they were, I hate to use the word but I can't think of one more appropriate, awesome. Looking forward to next week - that'll be a cracking final.

hope Gruden gets his ass handed to him

chuckie looking cnut

but they did fully desvere there victory,i thought it was gonna be a blowout after the 1st few minutes
