Ole’s farewell interview

They’re parading him like he won us the treble.

watched a few seconds. looking at the state of him couldnt watch further. club have wrecked him

I don't find it wierd at all.

I don't think the board ever wanted to sack him but performances were so bad they didn't have a choice.

You can tell the guy's been crying his eyes out. Poor fella. Bittersweet day now that the reality has sunk in that he's not the manager anymore.

He's about to cry ffs. Making him sit through an interview after getting sacked is fecking weird, emotions are obviously in full flow.

Our online fanbase is genuinely pathetic, as evidenced by some of the posts in this thread. Undeserving of success.

Yeah I don’t get it and don’t think it’s weird or embarrassing.

Poor Ole, red eyed and on the verge of tears.

farewell Ledge

My eyes were moist after seeing that pic where a fan hugged him.

Absolute class this guy, and I hope he'll be back in some capacity in future or he gets a good job somewhere else

Squad wise clearly yes

But he's also exacerbated the issues. Namely, the squad is more top heavy than ever. It was top heavy before, but we have so much attacking talent (of which most can't play on any given occasion) and so little in terms of central midfield talent (of which there isn't enough to even field a balance midfield with).

Individually, yes, he's brought in some top talent, but taken as a balance, as a whole, we're just as imbalanced as we was before.

The weirdest thing is I cant picture any other manager being happy enough after being sacked to do a sit down interview. I imagine most would be furious?

Truly the Disneyland of world football. How can anyone watch this and not tell themselves, yeah this club is a circus.

It’s all about marketing with these clowns

Forever a legend. All those with direct abuse calling him a clown or whatever can feck right off.

Squad wise clearly yes

Is it thought?

I don't think any one of his signings is a guarantee under a new manager. Bruno most likely will but he might have to adapt his role. Maguire seriously needs a kick up the arse but he'll probably end up sticking around. The rest are touch and go at best.

You'd expect Sancho and DvB to get more minutes now but considering Ole's reluctance to play them does he really deserve credit for that?

He talks as if he left during that first season when he took over Mourinho.

Nice way to shift it as if his tenure didn't end up in a total shit show with all the teams in the league, including the shit low table teams, laughing at us.

:( the way he talks about Carrick

Regardless of his ability as a manager, you can see why the players like him as a person

He’s a legend and a class act. I wish him nothing but success going forward.

Do fans generally agree that he has left the club in a better position than when he took over?
Potentially a way better squad, but its a marginal improvement considering it's been 3 years and nearly 400M spent.

Not even remotely close to what it's/should be expected.

It's been coming for weeks. The surprise factor of the sacking is clearly gone by now. Everyone knew he was one bad result away from it.

You clearly dont remember the squad before.
Not all the problems have been fixed and we really need to sort midfield. But we are miles ahead of where we were squad wise.

In the beginning of the interview Ole makes it clear he wanted to speak out instead of having to do tons of interviews.

Wished it worked for him but at the defining moments he couldn't push the squad to the next level. Set with him some good records, played sometimes the best football post-fergie and we enjoyed so many comebacks, shame this season it all crumbled, wish Ole the best because he tried but was just not good enough.

It's not even comparable... Fellaini, Valenica, Darmian, Young, Sanchez, Smalling, Rojo, Peirera. That's quite the cleaning. Sure, there's players in the squad right now that aren't good enough, but not like the mess he inherited.

I simply stated the squad is better than what he inherited. Which is clearly true. I did not say all his signings were great

Giving the narrative he's a lovely ol chap is great n all but as a Manager it's not going to cut it, he isn't good enough but I guess it's not his fault that he was hung out to dry by the board when it's clear he wasn't up for the task, this interview is bizzare as United are trying to spin this but all it shows is reluctance to sack someone who if it wasn't for a Champions League winning goal in 99 would have been long gone a while ago, certainly never gave Mou or Moyes a interview like this and Ole is far worse than any of them but United *grumble grumble* DNA etc

What the feck is the club doing? Who the feck makes post sacking interviews? Make him parade his failure? Shit show all round.

even if I didn’t like the man I’d have felt sorry for someone in the clubs corp comm calling him to show him a contract clause that mandates an interview after being fired

Gotta love people in this thread talking about class when this guy, following club orders most likely, said wininng trophies is for egos and that the 'true' fans would keep supporting him.

Absolutely ridiculous the length to which some of you go to defend him and his failure of a tenure at this football club.

Spoken like he is a primary school teacher.... It's about having fun and making friends.

Actually.... It's about winning football matches Ole.
