We need to build a world-class squad for us to compete, he's not a PE teacher but he's clearly not on the same level than Pep, Klopp and Tuchel.

Expecting him to suddenly become a world class manager will only end up on frustration and disappointment.
then he shouldn't even be on our radar

No title challenge this year after signing Varane and Sancho. Lets see what happens then
As long as we qualify to the UCL he'll be fine.

He's our Lampard, if anything Chelsea's results should give our board a hint or two about how having an actually good manager affects the team.

Let’s be honest. He’s just not a good enough coach to lead Manchester United back to our glory days. There are two world class coaches available now, Zidane and Conté. We need to be ruthless soon enough to bring one in ASAP.

It's sad how we've morphed into 90s Liverpool. I honestly can't see when our next title will come. We've got our heart set on Ole for some strange reason. Can you honestly see us winning it anytime soon with the three best managers in the world competing against us?
been saying this for a while - someone forgot to tell us to stop copying Liverpool. we're still doing it. The board is too useless to see the truth. they are akin to Johnson's dickhead-filled Cabinet

He cant, he has no insight. He does not know how bad he is as a manager. This is the "something else". Nothing more.
I spent two seasons screaming to get Allegri in while he was jobless - and got abuse here for it for those who think Ole's At The Wheel is a good song

Why are people obsessed with how many points. The only thing I care about is winning the league or the champions league. I don't give a shit about finishing second or third with 85 points at this point. Ruthless we should be and sack our club legend. That is how Chelsea won the their CL last year.
Chelsea sacked Lampard because he was somewhere around 10th. If they were top 4 at the time, Lampard would not have been sacked.

3 years of rebuilding the squad, I think Ole brought the right profile players. However, he is too sentimental keeping the likes of Mata, Matic, Martial, Dan James and etc. why is Martial and Matic in the squad. Didn’t we trash Leeds 5-1? That’s 8 days ago, I didn’t get any memo that we need to rotate the squad. I would swap out James for Sancho. Lukaku just score against Arsenal. Ole wants to ease Sancho and Varane into the squad? 15 mins cameo followed by 30 mins. Maybe 45 mins in the next game then 75 mins. I guess it will take 5 games before they will play the full 90 mins. Lastly, if you don’t rate VDV then sell him. If VDV seems like a paper weight on my table with no purpose. I can’t see Ole winning week in and week out.

1 draw and we are out of the title challenge?
Jesus, get a grip.

We had the chance to get Tuchel in January.

Now no outstanding coach is available.
It is sad, Tuchel would have done really well. Can't believe we are stuck with Ole competing vs Tuchel, Klopp, and Pep. Horrible situation.

We are going to waste the prime years of Maguire, Varane, Bruno and Pogba with this manager. By the time we get a proper manager in he will have another rebuilding job on his hands.
That's profound and scary.

Same problem as three years ago. We rely on individual brilliance, like Pogba against Leeds. But away from home we dont dominate like we do at home.

I was hoping today to see some difference from previous years but there were none.

He's clearly not at the level of the top coaches. It's evident from the quality of our football. We lag well behind our rivals in this regard.

Yes, we are out because we were never in it. It was a pure delusion from some of our fans. It's gonna be between City and Chelsea. Our challenge is for top 4, not title.

3 years in, zero trophies, regardless of who is the manager, you have to ask the question, is that acceptable for Manchester Utd.

Not wanting to be pessimistic, just realistic, this team managed by this manager will be scrapping for a top 4 finish again.

It's not even the selection. I think fans that get bugged down about selection, substitutions, starting XIs are missing the point and does a disservice to our real issue.
NO MATTER WHO WE PLAY, we are more often than not, slow and ponderous against teams that are compact and employ the half press, with players having no clue how to disorganise a defense. We are often too slow to even put teams under sustained pressure.
To me that's off the bat a coaching problem not a personnel one. You can call for Sancho, Greenwood, McTominay, Cavani, Rashford etc all you want, the pattern is always repeating itself.
Until we deal with that problem our ceiling as a team is quite low and I seriously doubt this coach can get over that hurdle. I haven't seen any sign in nearly 3 years that he can.

I agree. What world class managers are currently available? I'm not sure there is an ideal replacement at the moment.

Getting fed up at this stage. Chelsea four months after hiring Tuchel win the CL. We are still rebuilding after three years.

Going to be a long season.

You have to be at 100% every match 90 minutes. We play bad one half and then good the other half.

and Liverpool unfortunately. Count me in as one of the deluded btw, i will hope as long as realistically possible but all the flaws from Ole's tenure are still there.

One of the most disappointing things is how poor our passing continues to be. When you watch our Premier League rivals (yes, even those that we finished ahead of last season), one of the first things that strikes you is how much better they are in possession.

I get that Solskjaer is inexperienced at this level, but three years after possession-shy Mourinho departed the club, we really should be so much better than this on the ball.

Solskjaer will be here for at least another season of course, but when the time eventually comes for a managerial upgrade, I really hope we appoint someone with a proven track record of implementing a decent passing game.

Seen enough. He's not learning. Has taken us as far as he can. Matic and Fred? Martial? Good good. Appalling stuff.

Love you ole, but time to move on.

World-class managers are usually employed all the time. But as soon as one becomes available I think we shouldnt hesitate and go for him.

But they had spent £200m in the summer preceding his arrival (on largely what looked like shite). It's not like Tuchel is a top class manager. Not fair to compare to poor old Ole who "hasn't been backed."

Even if we had got a second, it was worrying, the performance.

City beat this lot 3-0 without trouble.

As long as he finishes at least 4th, he'll retain his job and the support of most of the fanbase. That's where we are, unfortunately - Manchester United 2021.

Look at how well Chelsea recycle possession. And how thay has improved since Tuchel took over. We are still basic and average in this regard. We lack a top class coach.

Who are you replying to? Has anyone said that?

The general reaction in this thread would imply implosion. Which is what had happened. Doom and gloomers out in full force. Ole Outers rearing their ugly

Rather three years and squad full of world class players than one draw

Is that not what we have?

De Gea
Maguire
Shaw
Bruno
Sancho
Varane

What more do you want for feck sake

Our buildup and possession play was poor under Mourinho. Maguire was a step in the right direction but Ole signed AWB for big money who is a liability in the buildup and hasn't signed a single CM in three years here preferring to go for VDB last year. Doesn't make any sense.

I recorded Spurs vs Wolves and watched the second half after our game and the difference in quality of both team's passing to ours seemed a world apart. I despair

Anyone knows how does Ole team plays? Rely heavily on individual brilliance. Does Ole identify weakness of the opponent? Some team, not all. He got City and Leeds but not against the rest of the top 5-6 and bottom, he struggles. We really need a manager who knows what he is doing, not a legend who is cheerleader at the side. How can a club like Utd lead by someone who not won a major title anywhere be a coach in recent times. Clueless!

Funny how an actual world-class manager can get a team up and running in a matter of months while we need millions and millions and time and time for poor Ole.

No it isnt, not at all. But I guess you think it was another one-off.

We just seemed cursed with midfielders, no matter how many we bought or promoted or how highly rated they were, none worked out. And it’s coming on 15 years now.
