Love the idea that you posted this, smiled a satisfied smile and logged out thinking 'point proven'.

Yes, but the thing is that he's supposed to be above that. As per his profile, if you will. One of the big selling points was his mentality. He fecks up now and then (as all keepers do to varying degrees), but he doesn't let it get to him. *Being chipped from half way during pre-season didn't help his confidence either.
Thank you. Never imagined I would have to explain basic English to you. ByeArguing with you is a waste of energy. I'm out.
Keepers who play as sweepers or last defenders require more agility and other athletic abilities, and I would think those would be at their peak around 30. Even in pure goalkeeping ability, shorter keepers seem to lose their ability sooner than the taller ones because they rely more on their agility, which is going down rapidly after 30. Onana would probably fall into that category. Or suppose to be.The exception to prove the rule?
Agreed. Those salivating about the playing out from the back thing didn't seem to take this into consideration. When we signed him, I heard the host of a prominent United podcast say "next year we will finally have a keeper who gets assists".Simple fact is a successful Utd keeper need to be a great shot stopper. Schmeichel, Van Der Sar, De Gea all were. Onana isnt.
But its only been a few months, lets see how he is towards end of season.
Personally i dont give two hoots about keepers playing out from the back, i care more about clean sheets. Jan Oblak is my type of keeper.
Still too soon mate?De Gea was a liability most of the time are wouldnt have saved any of those goals we conceeded last night.
Onana is a decent keeper who has been written off for to soon.
You’re associating your successes back in the day with the rigid can’t leave their line or make a decent pass kind of keepers who got away with being shit in every aspect other than making reaction saves from behind a packed low block defence back in the day.Simple fact is a successful Utd keeper need to be a great shot stopper. Schmeichel, Van Der Sar, De Gea all were. Onana isnt.

GeniusOnana what's a save?
What's a save what's a save.
I am like you. I care for clean sheets and with Onana you can't use that "it is only few months" excuse. He is 27. He was never good in shot stopping and he surely will not, all of sudden, become good at that.Simple fact is a successful Utd keeper need to be a great shot stopper. Schmeichel, Van Der Sar, De Gea all were. Onana isnt.

Antony still up there for me as he has been pointless for over a seasonLooks like he’ll go down as ETH’s worst buy, and he bought some proper shite.
Who made this compilation wanted to highlight all DDG's weaknesses including rooted on his line, not claiming cross, making his body small in 1 vs 1. However, Onana positioning is questionable in a different. He's not exactly always getting off his line. Seen stuck on his line too. He's not aggressively rushing out in 1 vs 1. Diving too soon in 1 vs 1 making shooting decision for opposition. His claiming crosses is hit and miss, because his judgement of the flight of the ball is questionable. Wolves potential penalty controversial, Burnley Sanders Berg header is kind of reminder of Darwin Nunez goal against Ajax. He's not immune from hoofing the ball habit nor making bad pass as seen yesterday for the sequence leading to Casemiro red.
Antony for sure...Antony still up there for me as he has been pointless for over a season
But Onana is catching up
Yes, he has only had 10 games and people are writting him off.Still too soon mate?
Keeping for the third goal was very FIFA, sorry, EA Sports 24.What the heck was that for the 3rd goal.
Might as well have just run away and left it open.
He can't save shots. That's a slight flaw even if you're Beckenbauer on the ball.
Mate, ffs in ten games we've face liked 15 shots on target and he's let like 10 in.Yes, he has only had 10 games and people are writting him off.
Its not easy playing in goal when the defence in front of you arnt doing their jobs.
I guess i'll see you in 15 then. Yes the defense has been poor, but his individual form hasn't been any better.Yes, he has only had 10 games and people are writting him off.

Well at least he has a decent run of games over the next few. Let's hope he can turn it around. His confidence is low after a bad start, but it’s very early days. Hopefully things steady down for him. Every goalkeeper makes mistakes; more so when low on confidence. He just needs a run of quiet games in which he does the basics and doesn’t make a howler.
Nope. There's nothing left to get from that dead horse.Well at least he has a decent run of games over the next few. Let's hope he can turn it around.
I posted before the Galy match to start him in place of Onana because Onana looks shook AF. And i don't know shit about Bayindir.Nope. There's nothing left to get from that dead horse.
I prefer giving Bayindir and his 1.98 m (6'6") frame a go, knowing that he will have to take the job come January anyway.
This is what we need, some optimism! Tell me moreI can understand why you'd feel disappointed in Onana.
I'd be livid too, in your position.
Just, in my opinion, don't turn him into a scapegoat.
He is a brilliant goalkeeper, as hard as it might be difficult for you to believe right now.
Weird way to put it. I meant you basically asked for everything. His confidence is low after a bad start, but it’s very early days. Hopefully things steady down for him. Every goalkeeper makes mistakes; more so when low on confidence. He just needs a run of quiet games in which he does the basics and doesn’t make a howler.
There was one shot that ricocheted off his shin that counted as a save.Has he made a good save yet?
De Gea in his prime is twice the keeper Onana is in his prime. A washed out De Gea is on the same level Onana is at his prime.
In 10 games the opposition have had a total of 50 shots on target and Andre has conceeded 18 goals.Mate, ffs in ten games we've face liked 15 shots on target and he's let like 10 in.
The defence is allowing 1.5 shots on target a game! That's pretty good.
So teams have a 1 in 3 chance of scoring if they get the ball on target. In 10 games the opposition have had a total of 50 shots on target and Andre has conceeded 18 goals.
In his 7 Premier League games this season he has 2 clean sheets 1 more than Allison who many including myself believe is the best goalkeeper in the league.
Last season he got more clean sheets than any other keeper in the Champions League because he had a proper defence in front of him.
