So why hasn’t he tried to ‘force through a move’ then? He made that comment before the summer window even opened. Then it opened. Did anything you saw look like he was trying to force his way out? Did he turn up late for pre-season, or not return at all? When Real Madrid offered James and a bag of chips for him, did he go on strike? Did he demand we accept the offer? If not, how have you concluded he was trying to ‘force a move’?It wasn't a mistake at all. If it was a mistake you wouldn't have the same sentiments being echoed by his agent and brothers ad nauseum.
He made the comments to try to force through a move. If he doesn't leave this summer it will be because nobody is willing to pay the asking price, not a realisation that United are on the right path or some underlying love for the club.
I’m not in denial that Pogba may want, or have wanted, to move - but at no point has he tried to force a move. Di Maria forced a move. He refused to turn up for pre-season. Lukaku forced one. He refused to train during pre-season. Since Pogba’s comment last summer, there have only been two period he could have possibly moved. Summer window last year, January window this year. No fuss was created during either of them.
