Correct.

We've already a lack of midfielders in the squad, selling the best one will be hard to accept.
Are we still talking about the guy who is second choice to mighty Fred and amazing McTominay?

He has the highest potential in the squad (maybe on par with Greenwood), but stating he's the best midfielder we have is definitely not true.

My only problem is he'll definitely shine wherever he goes, as the clubs interested in him are dominant in their respective leagues, so I hope we get good money for him.

If we can get good money for Pogba we should let him leave.

Whatever you think of him as a player, and I happen to believe he's almost unplayable on his day, there's no point pretending Pogba wants to stay at United.

Next summer is the latest he will be at United. Get a few for him now and move on.

Hope not. Part of me wants him to go and show up the experts here who think he’s nothing but a liability, and he will.
Do you appreciate that Pogba could go anywhere in the world and win everything but it still won’t prove anything in relation to his time at United?

He could win World Player of the Year at PSG (or Juve or Barça) and the people you refer to as ‘experts’ won’t be wrong about his time at United and his performances whilst here.

Where would he even fit at PSG. I presume they are playing 3atb next season with the addition of Ramos and Hakimi with two midfielders in the middle which they already have in Verratti and Wijnaldum

If he goes to France it's completely fine. We should be worried only if he goes to a PL club.

Sell. He hasn't 'evolved' here and he won't in Paris, hopefully they take Martial too.

Neither have been consistent enough for what we need to get back to the top.

He is great, but unreliable (or should I say inconsistent) for the club in the positions he plays.

Also, why wouldn't he just stay and then leave for free next year? Don't players who leave on a free typically get paid higher wages at their next club?

correct me if I'm wrong but I feel like it would make the most business sense for pogba to do just that, rather than sign a new contract and then leave and have a lower salary at new club

I will cry if Pogba leaves and we are left with Mctominay and Fred in midfield while we added Sancho, Varane and a RB. It would mean so much of promise of the team unfulfiled.

Having said that, we could sell Pogba for decent money, it's not that difficult to get a less shiny replacement but one who provides more value.

This is more bluffing and leaks from his agent to pile pressure on United to make him the highest paid player at the club. I would say no thanks to that and let him go.

The truth is midfield trio with Pogba and Bruno is not balanced and might be not good for a title winning side, he doesn't want to stay, we probably have to sell him this summer, we are very lucky that he had a good Euro.

I think they could generall fit together very well but the coach would have to ask them to make concessions in their risk taking. They can't both gift away possession so often.

But I'd also say that losing Pogba could pose a chance for United. Bring in a defensive midfielder or one who distributes the ball very well and the team could profit from it despite losibg a bit of individual quality. Especially Sancho would profit from playing alongside a midfielder that prefers to recycle possession.

No problem with him leaving, but we have to replace him this summer if he goes.

Disagree. If you put a formula one car on the grid and fill it with diesel does that give you a fair assessment of it?

I’m boring people by now surely but until he’s partnered here alongside an actual DM thats not an ancient Matic I won’t feel we’ve had a fair assessment of him in a United shirt.

The same way I wouldn’t expect the best from Maguire until we partner him with another top defender. To do that is fine but to consider it with Pogba is taboo and mental because apparently he should be able to defend the back four by himself, create and score goals - why?

Sell Pogba and buy Grealish, what's not to like?

With Sancho joining the party, the attacking 3rd is even more competitive.

Paul can’t play in a central 2 so he is a bit fecked really.

I'd take that deal... I simply don't believe Pogba's heart is at United
I don’t think it ever was to be honest. He has always struggled to definitively rule out leaving when asked upfront by the media. His ambivalent responses tell the story.

Pogba has been back here for 5 years now and we couldn’t have tried harder to accommodate him in the team.

He’a played in a midfield 2 as well as a 3 and neither have worked consistently for him/us.

I don’t want to get in to a finger pointing session. I’ve gone from wanting him out of the club ASAP to wanting him to sign a new contract after the last 6 months.I just feel that it’s ok to say it’s not working, for whatever reason, and move on either way.

This constant barrage of media guff just adds to the frustration. Again, I’m not willing to finger point about it because the club are as bad for it as Pogba and his entourage are.

Sometimes things just don’t work out and that’s fine. The thought of him going on a free is ridiculous though and can’t be allowed to happen

It makes sense IMO. PSG definitely the most realistic option in this market. He has a year left on his contract and doesn't want to extend, doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that we'll sell if the right offer comes. From their POV he'd do really well, the 3rd midfielder in front of Verratti and a holding midfielder like Marquinhos.

I'm ok with him leaving as I just don't think he fits in at all with our team building. I don't think he can be one of the 2 deeper mids, never did, and my view has only be reinforced after years here. He's the 3rd midfielder of a 3, the one who provides the attacking creativity and unpredictability. He doesn't dictate the tempo of games and control them with his passing, he doesn't do the defensive dirty work... he does the creating and bursts forward. Since we have Bruno in that role now and we just got Sancho to provide that from the wings, we're better off building a midfield that fits our team, can accommodate 2 really attacking wingers and being balanced rather than forcing Pogba in.

Players come and go. Don't take this personally as they are professionals and will only ever do what suits them the best. If he stays and is a success we'll enjoy his involvement. If he wants to move to better his career, bank balance or lifestyle all the very best for the future - except obviously when playing against United.

I agree in the main. But what about if he stays but doesn’t sign a new contract and turns down all moves so he can go on a free? Would you not take that as being a bit out of order?

Why would a player respecting his contract be out of order?

I know they won't sell Verratti but I will take Parades as part of the deal. Probably Parades + money, use that money to buy Camavinga?

352 like when Pogba in Juventus.

Wijnaldum = Vidal
Verratti = Pirlo

Really wanted it to work out for him here but apart from the odd purple patches it’s been a bit of let down unfortunately , no hard feelings though and wish him well wherever he ends up

Move on and use the fees to buy player that suits the team more. Tell everyone the coaches and the board, we sold world class striker RVN once and that decision got the best out of Ronaldo who at that time didn’t compliment with RVN’s style and won us the league.

Find a midfielder who is more all-rounder. Someone with good work rate, can still defend but also can still pass the ball. This type of midfielder likely offers much more balance for our team than Pogba.

I think he'll simply go to the highest bidder...and that bidding war could potentially last upwards of 6 months.

As long as him, his entourage and agent do it all behind the scenes and he puts the effort whilst it all goes on, that's fine.

we have definitely a higher chance to win the title with Pogba in the team than without him, hence if we let him go we should definitely try to replace his creativity. Grealish would be a superb replacement imo. Perhaps a slight overkill but some proper competition which every top team needs to have and yeah we could rotate him with Bruno as well who really shouldn't be untouchable.

Saying this I would still be satisfied if we got top CB and CDM thanks to that extra funds. I think we will have to calculate a bit without that.

I like Pogba, always have. I would really loved it if he could make here (after five years). But let's be honest, he doesn't want to be here anymore.

So let's move on without him, get some cash for him now and reinvest.

Me too. Wouldn’t like to end the window with him staying and not signing a new contract.

I personally would do a swap with Ronaldo. A year left of Pogbas contract basically makes him worthless. Get in a motivated Ronaldo instead.
