If he wants to leave, let him go. Thanks and goodbye.

Just hope his fanboys leave with him tbh.

I think Ole is favouring a change of formation. It would look something like this for me if we could sell Pogba and get Grealish.

Rashford Cavani Sancho
Grealish CDM Fernandes
Shaw Maguire Varane Wan-Bissaka
Henderson

No, he was excellent. It's not even debatable.
Well I don't know about others, but you've convinced me :)
But he has had 2 long injury in last 2 season. Last season he had Covid and when he was fit, and was very good. I guess it's difficult to be great all season if you are injured for 2-3 months.

He was our best player the season before that.

His injury is one the biggest reason why I am bit wary of giving him long contract. But to say that he hasn't been good is just revisionism at best.
That's a valid point, especially if we're considering giving him huge payrise. Being injured for 2 months every season is a problem, not an excuse like some people on here would suggest.
Correction, he was good going forward but, as usual, lacking in defensive duties.
So true. It's funny how people judge him as an offensive midfielder for France because apparently it's Kante job to defend. Against Switzerland, where Pogba was having a great game according to some, France midfield was full of holes as a Swiss cheese. This is exactly the same Pogba that plays for United, it's just much easier playing for a dominant team like France.
Yes. December onwards only Luke Shaw was more consistent than Pogba. Cavani had some good heights though.

Did you watch any games?
Such a shame our season didn't start in December.

My chief aim here.

By that I can assume you were also judging Kante by his creativity... :nervous:

I think the club are doing the right thing by calling Pogba's bluff on this one. If he wants to go elsewhere, fine. If he wants to sign a new deal, fine, but it won't be on ludicrous money.

Personally, I don't think I have ever been as divided by a player as much as I have by Paul Pogba. I can flip between thinking he is one of the best footballers on the planet to literally believing he is the root of all of our problems from one game to the next.

My current view (subject to change!) is that Pogba is a "10+1" player. By that I mean, if you have ten other brilliant players and a defined role for Pogba, he is virtually unplayable. In this United side, especially in the PL, I feel we could probably get far more EFFECTIVE (not necessarily 'better') players in that midfield area.

Lost all interest in this saga. Time to give him and the fat man a deadline.

Either sign a 3 year extension on same wages, find a new club or start the season on the bench

Pick one one by next friday.

Plot twist..

We offer him a significant pay rise but only if he sacks his agent first. I would love it

My money would be on that being the current most likely outcome, no? More players seem to be doing that at the minute. Whether that is due to the pandemic or a change in the times, I'm not sure.
Who was the last top player that that moved from a big club on a free?

Lewandowski many years ago?

I can't think of anyone recently. Big clubs just don't let it happen.

Oldies (30+) excluded of course.

Pogba will be 29 if he leaves on a free so not far off being an ‘oldie’ :wenger:

I'm not the problem with Pogba. It's all you fanboys who don't speak the truth. I tell it how it is. He's a talented player who has underperformed for us.

He didn't have a great season last year. You can say it as many times as you like it still won't be true. He didn't get in the reckoning for club player of the year or PL team of the year. He wasn't even close.

I'm with most of the pundits on this one. He's just not delivered for us despite his ability. It's sadly you who can't accept this fact.
Another huge thing is the fact that he doesn't even fit into our current system. We give him a new contract and play him where exactly?

I want Pogba gone too but thats a joke lineup. He would present the same problems as Pogba unless played as an lw or am.

Grealish out for a midfield who can defend and run and it’s not bad at all.

Somehow on this forum, top players moving on free is believed to be the norm. As if players would reject a big contract at their existing clubs during their last year of contracts.

Either he signs the renewal or get sold. Enough of his drama. We are no longer dependent on him for creativity after Sancho signing.

Pogba is such a talented player and I really hoped he would make it here. I think he has been good and sometimes very very good, but the whole circus with his greedy agent needs to stop asap. It is the one big negative on our summer.

The sooner we draw a line under it the better. Right now I am hoping we can sell him for £40M+ and reinvest that into someone who wants to be here.

I think it's most likely to happen.
We'll see.

A pay rise and stay is far more likely than him running his contract, if history is anything to go by.
Giving him a pay rise completely undermines the manager and destabilises the club. There are other players who will rightly have their noses put out of joint or hold the club to ransom when they come to renew, like Bruno for example.

Paying Pogba north of £350k+ a week is the thin end of the wedge that gets us moving towards a Madrid/Barcelona situation. We didn't sign young players to have them all on over £250k a week before they're 25, unless they're clearly world class. Nothing positive will come from paying Pogba and Rialoa what they're demanding.

How about the best goalkeeper on the planet?! Only 22yrs old too.
