Isn't that the role he played for France when they won the WC?I’d like to see him grow into a controlling midfield role, but don’t know if he has that in him.

Never said he wasPogba isn't fit to lace Xavi's boots and you know it.
I think Ole is favouring a change of formation. It would look something like this for me if we could sell Pogba and get Grealish.Bring in Grealish for Pogba.
Cavani
Rashford Fernandes Sancho
Grealish Neves
Shaw Maguire Varane Wan-Bissaka
De Gea
Well I don't know about others, but you've convinced meNo, he was excellent. It's not even debatable.
That's a valid point, especially if we're considering giving him huge payrise. Being injured for 2 months every season is a problem, not an excuse like some people on here would suggest. But he has had 2 long injury in last 2 season. Last season he had Covid and when he was fit, and was very good. I guess it's difficult to be great all season if you are injured for 2-3 months.
He was our best player the season before that.
His injury is one the biggest reason why I am bit wary of giving him long contract. But to say that he hasn't been good is just revisionism at best.
So true. It's funny how people judge him as an offensive midfielder for France because apparently it's Kante job to defend. Against Switzerland, where Pogba was having a great game according to some, France midfield was full of holes as a Swiss cheese. This is exactly the same Pogba that plays for United, it's just much easier playing for a dominant team like France.Correction, he was good going forward but, as usual, lacking in defensive duties.
Such a shame our season didn't start in December.Yes. December onwards only Luke Shaw was more consistent than Pogba. Cavani had some good heights though.
Did you watch any games?
My chief aim here.Well I don't know about others, but you've convinced me
By that I can assume you were also judging Kante by his creativity...So true. It's funny how people judge him as an offensive midfielder for France because apparently it's Kante job to defend.
Grealish in a double pivotBring in Grealish for Pogba.
Cavani
Rashford Fernandes Sancho
Grealish Neves

Yeah never mate. Little bald guy aint he?Grealish in a double pivot
You've never seen him play in your life have you?
Or he leaves for free.My prediction is that nobody will buy him so he'll sign an extension with a pay increase.
That won't happen. Zero chance.Or he leaves for free.
My money would be on that being the current most likely outcome, no? More players seem to be doing that at the minute. Whether that is due to the pandemic or a change in the times, I'm not sure. That won't happen. Zero chance.
No white text? That's the most possible scenario. That won't happen. Zero chance.
Who was the last top player that that moved from a big club on a free?My money would be on that being the current most likely outcome, no? More players seem to be doing that at the minute. Whether that is due to the pandemic or a change in the times, I'm not sure.
Alaba just did and got a hefty contract.Who was the last top player that that moved from a big club on a free?
I can't think of anyone. Big clubs just don't let it happen.
Oldies (30+) excluded of course.
Pogba will be 29 if he leaves on a free so not far off being an ‘oldie’Who was the last top player that that moved from a big club on a free?
Lewandowski many years ago?
I can't think of anyone recently. Big clubs just don't let it happen.
Oldies (30+) excluded of course.
Thought he was 30+ in all honesty! He's 29.Alaba just did and got a hefty contract.
Another huge thing is the fact that he doesn't even fit into our current system. We give him a new contract and play him where exactly?I'm not the problem with Pogba. It's all you fanboys who don't speak the truth. I tell it how it is. He's a talented player who has underperformed for us.
He didn't have a great season last year. You can say it as many times as you like it still won't be true. He didn't get in the reckoning for club player of the year or PL team of the year. He wasn't even close.
I'm with most of the pundits on this one. He's just not delivered for us despite his ability. It's sadly you who can't accept this fact.
What could we do to stop him from leaving on a free?Who was the last top player that that moved from a big club on a free?
Lewandowski many years ago?

I want Pogba gone too but thats a joke lineup. He would present the same problems as Pogba unless played as an lw or am.Bring in Grealish for Pogba.
Cavani
Rashford Fernandes Sancho
Grealish Neves
Shaw Maguire Varane Wan-Bissaka
De Gea
Grealish out for a midfield who can defend and run and it’s not bad at all.Bring in Grealish for Pogba.
Cavani
Rashford Fernandes Sancho
Grealish Neves

Give him a fat pay rise. What could we do to stop him from leaving on a free?
Sell him? Refuse to play him this season? What could we do to stop him from leaving on a free?
Isn't going to happenGive him a fat pay rise.
That never happened.SAF was right when he sold this toxicity.
Somehow on this forum, top players moving on free is believed to be the norm. As if players would reject a big contract at their existing clubs during their last year of contracts.Who was the last top player that that moved from a big club on a free?
Lewandowski many years ago?
I can't think of anyone recently. Big clubs just don't let it happen.

We'll see.Isn't going to happen
He hasn't kicked a ball for us yet.Either he signs the renewal or get sold. Enough of his drama. We are no longer dependent on him for creativity after Sancho signing.
From midfield, we still are.Either he signs the renewal or get sold. Enough of his drama. We are no longer dependent on him for creativity after Sancho signing.
I think it's most likely to happen.Isn't going to happen
Does Ole trust him in midfield? From midfield, we still are.
I think it's most likely to happen.
Giving him a pay rise completely undermines the manager and destabilises the club. There are other players who will rightly have their noses put out of joint or hold the club to ransom when they come to renew, like Bruno for example. We'll see.
A pay rise and stay is far more likely than him running his contract, if history is anything to go by.
How about the best goalkeeper on the planet?! Only 22yrs old too.Who was the last top player that that moved from a big club on a free?
Lewandowski many years ago?
I can't think of anyone recently. Big clubs just don't let it happen.
