I did not see a thread in this, so apologies if it is elsewhere. Shocking the referee allowed the game to continue. PSV could be in some serious trouble.

Great reaction from Dmitrovic. I don't think I could have handled not hitting a punch back.

That cnut should get a lifetime ban to all public events.

How do you bottle a sucker punch like that.. weak.

I understand where the fan is coming from, this is how I feel every time we have to play Sevilla.

apparently it was a drunk barca fan who thought he’d spotted ten hag.

Thread title needs changed. "Pitch invader tries to punch Goalkeeper, gets put on his arse and choked out"

It's kinda incredible this happened at PSV. Have they ever had serious fan trouble? And it's not like they're in a disastrous season either. I wonder how drunk that dude was.

All it takes is one drunken idiot... This one is down to poor security more than anything else. You expect security to be right on his heels the minute he steps in the pitch, instead it took them about a minute to get to him.

What I don't get is why they always go for the goalkeeper?

out of 11 options, why opt for the 6'4, bald headed croatian that has hands like baseball gloves?

Opt for little Jonny over at left back, you might have a chance.

Drunken logic. More area to punch, ftfw.

pretty shocking stuff, especially from a PSV fan. I would have expected mad stuff from Feyenoord or Ajax fans but i always (and probably mistakenly) thought of PSV fans as the more genteel of the big three in Holland.

Both football and real world officials need to come down hard on these idiots. Someone is really going to get hurt at some point if this isn't stamped out.

PSV in for a long ban.

Never understood why clubs suffer the full weight of penalisation for actions of individuals. I'd understand if we're talking about a club not dealing with persistent individuals, but how can you calculate any single individual doing something? You'd have to literally see the future.

Because the clubs need to provide the safety of the players.

Wait what? Sarcastic I hope? It's the worst we've ever played.

Well, sure, but compared to recent seasons, you're going out of Europe around the same time as usual, and you're also again still kinda in the title race (probably also again without really expecting to win it). I know it's not great and it's not looking up for next season either with the way things are going now - but given recent history, it's not really disastrous either, right?

They are. PSV's fans are nowhere near the top when it comes to 'difficult' fanbases in the Netherlands.

Wtf were the stewards playing at, that clip in the second tweet looks like he had way too much time.

I've always assumed the purpose is to deter the individuals with the threat of punishment for the club. But more with regard to attention-seeking pitch invaders, not bodily assault.

I was quite frightened when I saw the video and it's not the first invader like this - we're very close to a much larger tragedy here if the stewards remain as unprofessional and security so bad. But then again, it's not their fault and all UEFA greed - you'll have players earning millions of euros per month playing on a pitch protected by completely random, untrained stewards earning few euros an hour. They save on security, preferring to underpay random lads over hiring professionals. You'd think they learned anything about the mess of last year CL final, but it's all same stuff.

Would definitely call it disastrous. Truwly awful football, even worse manager and no perspective whatsoever.

We are not far away from one genuinely unhinged individual doing something far worse than trying to swing a punch. It only takes one person

Careful now! :wenger:

The only fair way to settle this is to allow the GK and the fan to go at it after the final whistle in the tunnel. If you're going to feck around like that, be prepared to find out.

If a fan enters the pitch (unless its a safety thing), the players or refs should be allowed to beat the shit out of them with no punishment.
Agree but the ref would send the players off which is the only issue. I don't think anyone would have an issue with the ref looking the other way if the GK would have thrown one back, these dickheads know the players cant hit them, which is why they do it.
