Nothing to do with VAR. Under the rules a tackle is judged as "serious foul play" rather than "violent conduct", which means the offside negates it. Whereas a light and inoffensive slap wouldn't have been negated by the offside and would have seen Pickford sent off.

It's a stupid rule but there's not much the refs can do about that.
I'm almost positive that's wrong. Pickford was challenging for the ball at the time with excessive force, endangering the safety of the opponent. The offside doesn't negate that, it merely means it's not a penalty.

Everton are transformed, apart from the still quite pedestrian Gomes they have the modern mantra - everyone runs. And increasingly the players. Man Utd are full of non runners.

Every yellow in this game feels hard since Pickford got away with murder...

Another match where Mané should've been sent off. Second clear red for Liverpool missed by both the ref and VAR. Will be completely ignored by the media too.

Everton are bottling this, top of the league, 100% record, playing Liverpool at home without VVD and Allison in the Liverpool team and they're not winning

Very good point. Lots of runners give passers like James options to display his art.

Pathetic stuff from Mina. Everton definitely going to go past 10 years without beating Liverpool. Mental.

Funnily enough was just thinking this. They have an intensity and work rate that we simply don't have. I reckon it stems from midfield for us, with Pogba and Matic being quite pedestrian type players. Maybe is why we looked good at times with Fred and McTominay in midfield. Unfortunately I don't think they have the required quality to go with the work rate. Other than that it's not like our forwards and full backs are slow but maybe haven't been drilled properly to use that pace effectively. However there were times last season where we showed that type of intensity. Hard to put a finger on what exactly is the problem with showing that consistently.

Why do commentators make out like simple shit is the best thing they've ever seen? Anyone could whack that in.
