Maybe, maybe not. Remember when Jose put Pogba on the bench? All the fanbois crying for Jose to be sacked, and soon as he was Pogba was to become best ever player. Still waiting for it.. so if he sold Pogba it would have been riots among United fans. Now they are opening their eyes, slowly but firmly. If we kept Jose I’m fairly certain Pogba wouldn’t be at our club and I’d be very ok with that And I’m sure we’d be challenging for the league.
Because it's been 5 poxy games, Everton are 1st and Villa are in the top 4.What makes you so confident? They look amazing.
Is that why he's won so many trophies ? I mean, comparing to Woody it's not exactly a high bar, but lets not overrate Levy as some sort of mastermind. He's a businessman, a rather shrewd one at that, but his recruiting department takes most of the credit. Levy is just good at knowing when to sell at the highest price.Maybe, maybe not.
Differenc beetween Jose Spurs and Jose United is the CEO. Levy is CEO/Chairman/President (whatever) of a football club, Woodward is CEO of the marketing agency, where being marketable celebrity is more important than being footbal player.
Spurs had zero depth because Levy started dicking Poch around with money available for transfers. Remember that Summer window where zero players came in? We would have been tearing the place apart had that happened this Summer. Mentally, Poch was shot after the Champions League final and it was the right time for him to go after that. But, all of this talk about Jose suddenly working miracles is just, imo, extremely premature. They're playing great football right now, but they played great football under the last manager, too. These are good players. We'll see where we are in 5 or 6 months time with Jose. It's all part of the cycle where things look amazing at first and then quickly deteriorate. We should certainly know that. No, but every manager usually starts off with some good players left behind. Last season, they had zero depth: N'Dombele had massive fitness issues; their sub-wing-backs now were their first team wingbacks last season; Eriksen is gone, and he has turned helped turn N'Dombele into a player who actually tries; Moura incredibly inconsistent; no backup striker at all; Vertonghen is gone; Winks and Sissoko were the first-team midfielders together. So, there were a whole lot of issues to fix before they could even dream of playing like this.
Kane and Son are a great place to start, though.
The framework that Poch left for Jose is much easier to work with than the framework that Jose left for us. Imo, of course. That's like saying Jose laid the foundations for Ole. Ole and Jose both had to pick up teams in disastrous positions.
Woodward dreams about being Daniel Levy.Maybe, maybe not. Remember when Jose put Pogba on the bench? All the fanbois crying for Jose to be sacked, and soon as he was Pogba was to become best ever player. Still waiting for it.. so if he sold Pogba it would have been riots among United fans. This.Because it's been 5 poxy games, Everton are 1st and Villa are in the top 4.
It's far too early for this type of talk. We'll know what's what by the New Year.
There are already signs that City are getting it together.Already with the Spurs winning the league talk
Way too early, for now I'd say Top 4 contention for sure. Maybe even a Cup run? But I'm still fully expecting City to get their act together.
And much easier than the one LVG left for Jose. I've said it all along that Spurs have a much better and balanced side than us over the years, and Jose actually did pretty well with them at the start. I remember because when I suggested bounce, some spurs fans piped up and said its been going on for nearly a year. The framework that Poch left for Jose is much easier to work with than the framework that Jose left for us. Imo, of course.
They drew Newcastle and lost against Everton (even though I admit Everton are doing well). It's only West Ham, let them play more serious contenders then I will see...What makes you so confident? They look amazing.
I'll accept that. It'll be interesting to see how they manage the demands of all the competitions. They drew Newcastle and lost against Everton (even though I admit Everton are doing well). It's only West Ham, let them play more serious contenders then I will see...
But they in the Europa league and that'll hinder them too especially when the fixtures come thick and fast. I expect injuries and they will be as light as a feather again with Mourinho moaning come winter. I don't think they will win the league but are serious contender for top 4.
Edit: also Mourinho plays his first 11 in all competitions as he wants a trophy. That will also play a big role in terms of fitness and tiredness. They are not just going to focus on the PL only.
Chelsea squad at this time had Fabregas, Costa and Hazard too in terms of attack, but it's the defence in which this Chelsea was much better than current Spurs team in terms of quality. He has Gareth Bale sitting on the bench mate.. Chelsea 2014 had more balance in the squad, but attacking wise Jose's spurs are deadly. Even Costa would struggle to start in this team.
Miles? Joking, right? Liverpool have just shipped 10 goals in 2 matches. They still have the lethal Salah-Mane partnership, one of the best three alongside Kane-Son and Sterling-Aguero (when fit). But they have developed flaws and weaknesses in other areas esp defence. For me the 2018/19 Liverpool is their best in recent years, even better than their title-winning team.and I remember what happened to spurs that year! In all seriousness though, unless ACL is infectious, Liverpool are still miles ahead in both player and coach.
I swear to jaysus the amount of knee jerking so far this season is unreal.This.
Spurs do look good at the moment but there are a lot of swings yet.
Well that pretty obvious because Kane is a better player and on fire at the moment. He has Gareth Bale sitting on the bench mate.. Chelsea 2014 had more balance in the squad, but attacking wise Jose's spurs are deadly. Even Costa would struggle to start in this team.
I think people are looking at it more as 5 years of Spurs threatening to do something. Now they have an established trophy winning manager and its currently like a match made in Heaven. Everton and Villa are anomalies. Spurs steamrolling teams is what many have been predicting and now its happening.Because it's been 5 poxy games, Everton are 1st and Villa are in the top 4.
It's far too early for this type of talk. We'll know what's what by the New Year.
True. Their defense is just average at best, especially their CB's.Chelsea squad at this time had Fabregas, Costa and Hazard too in terms of attack, but it's the defence in which this Chelsea was much better than current Spurs team in terms of quality.
You somehow ignore the game against Utd?They drew Newcastle and lost against Everton (even though I admit Everton are doing well). It's only West Ham, let them play more serious contenders then I will see...

Well, a 14th placed team isn't exactly a serious contenderYou somehow ignore the game against Utd?
They play really good. Lost points vs Newcastle where they had 25 shots and Newcastle had one or two and against Everton in even match. In other games they were trashing teams.Did Spurs win the league or something? Narrative fairly changed in 3-4 games.
Theyve a good squad but you'd thing they were 6 points clear in January with the swing on here.
Liverpool started in a fashion where people were convinced they were going to walk it.I swear to jaysus the amount of knee jerking so far this season is unreal.
We were rubbish and down to 10 men, but I won't use that as an excuse as I still think they would have beaten us. If anything it shows they will be our competition for top 4 though. Not quite City and Pool level though. You somehow ignore the game against Utd?
Completely agree. Brilliant creator, brilliant dribbler and above all, world class goalscorer. How some people don't rate Kane that highly I don't know. He can do almost everything.
The difference at Spurs is that he's taking on a team that has been brilliantly coached by Pochettino. Is Mourinho really managing this Spurs team or have I been hallucinating?
I still reckon he'll suck the life out of them by Jan mind.
2nd year Mou is good. Was good with us too. 3rd year Mou sucks. Is Mourinho really managing this Spurs team or have I been hallucinating?
I still reckon he'll suck the life out of them by Jan mind.
They did play well against Newcastle, though. It was just their finishing was off and they had a dodgy penalty decision against them. The signs were there in that game, though. They drew Newcastle and lost against Everton (even though I admit Everton are doing well). It's only West Ham, let them play more serious contenders then I will see...

The Everton game wasn't even, Everton were easily the better team in that match. They play really good. Lost points vs Newcastle where they had 25 shots and Newcastle had one or two and against Everton in even match. In other games they were trashing teams.
If they are grinding results in Jose way then ok but this looks pretty impressive
Them leaving Reguilon alone for his assist was criminal, especially when they are set up to defend. Don't mistake possession for doing well, Spurs are letting them have the ball because they are doing feck all with it.Hammers havnt been bad really. Just dealing with Son and Kane is not easy. Kane's cheeky nutmeg then shot between someone's legs was pure sauce.
I'm not sure dude, I struggle to see either City or Liverpool cracking 85 points currently and if they finish around 81-82 Jose could well have one of those seasons. I don't think they will but I always wouldn't put my house against it.I don't think any English team (certainly PL era) has gone deep in the Europa and won the domestic league.
For Spurs to win the league, Liverpool and City both need to drop a lot of points and can't see that happening. But they are on course to win a domestic cup which would be a start for Jose.
