On a platinum push at the minute, going over old games while waiting for something new to come out.

Platinum'd Everybody's Gone to the Rapture last night and this morning. I have to say that this is 100% one of my favourite pieces of media across all genres. It spans the game / film / book / music genres to such an amazing extent. I totally understand it not being everybody's cup of tea but it really tickles my Travellers!

The music alone gives me goosebumps. I would love to have seen one of the live shows Jessica Curry did with the orchestra playing the soundtrack to a walkthrough of the game.
Yep. I think it's powerful because you get this strange sensation that all our daily qualms are both important and utterly pointless at the same time. It's like a juxtaposition between total catastrophe and human emotion.

I wish I could explain it better but it's a great game.

To get this platinum, I had to play through 3 times. 4 times if you count the first time where I clearly rushed through without seeing everything. I've just had 3 different experiences. With each playthrough the familiarity of the voices grows and the picture of their entwined relationships became clearer. My familiarity with the geography / landscape grew which grounded me even more in the scenes playing out and far from being tedious, I actually found my 3rd playthrough the most emotionally engaging.

This game (walking sim or whatever), for me, is literally just highlighting the differences in peoples character in life but also displaying the ultimate similarity at their end. Everyone coping with their daily trials and tribulations, their wants and desires and the conflict that it brings. Ultimately, acceptance and love at each end (apart from Jeremy).

Incredible writing and amazing attention to detail. I'll no doubt play through this again at some point in the future.

I'd started playing this just before the pandemic started. It seemed too close to the bone to continue it afterwards, so I abandoned it. Looks like I'll have to go back in and finish it off, but maybe I'm best starting at the beginning because I've forgotten where I was up to!

Take your time and drink it all in, no getting away from the fact it's a slow burner but it's very rewarding if you have the patience to literally drift through it and explore it fully. It really gets hold of you.

Next game I nearly got all the trophies for that I’m revisiting is The Wolf Among Us. Only an hour in and already remembering what a bloody brill game this is.

I'm sure @b82REZ knows all and can tell us about it
I've known they were working on a new game for a while but I don't know anything about it.

My mate is on that project though so I might hear something eventually. From what I can gather though their main focus is on Forbidden West for the time being. I'd imagine the full team will switch to the new project in the middle of next year.

Really enjoying Sackboy. Playing the entire thing 2 player with my non-gamer Mrs and she loves it. The last two player game we played was Overcooked

Theyre a porting specialist so I imagine Sony are going full whack on those remasters. Not a bad thing.
Or demasters - putting PS5 games on PS4.

Housemarque and Bluepoint seem like really good buys.

I wish they would bring back Infamous. Infamous Second Son is pretty average but the first and second games with Cole were unreal. Would love to play them again on a modern console.

Yeah I briefly played the first one and enjoyed it (though not long after I switched to a PS4 so couldn't continue it). I guess they think the superhero genre is covered by Spider-Man, though Infamous I'd say is different in that you can choose to go down a good/bad path (note: I've not played Spider-Man so for all I know he could be on top of buildings throwing rotten eggs at old ladies but I doubt it). I think there's room for both but Sucker Punch seem tied with Ghost.

Yeh Infamous is very different to Spiderman. Both good games in their own unique ways, but I preferred the gritty infamous world over the jovial, comedic Spiderman universe. The OG games kind of had a third person shooter feel to them (just with electricity out the hands) and then the odd powerful move thrown in. The new powers and character in Second Son just didn't do a good job of building on that. Also, I cried my eyes out at the evil ending of Infamous 2, poor Zeke!

They literally did that for PS3 so I think it's Konami who are the problem getting it done.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Gear_Solid:_The_Legacy_Collection

I didn't own it personally but it's a proper collection and has some cool extras like the digital graphic novels (they're on youtube).
Huh, I never knew about that collect. I bought the one that had MGS 2,3 and Peace walker. They really need to bring that collection to the PS5 or 4. Lot of people didn't play 4 because of its exclusive to the PS3. Least its on the ps now store. I'd still buy it if I could..

Yeah, I don't think it was marketed well and plus they'd just done the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection a year before it. I gather a lot of people (like myself) had already picked that up and probably already owned MGS4 and maybe even MGS1 through the e-shop. The only tangible exclusives were the two MSX games and MGS1:VR Missions (but that's not really a proper MGS).

It was a nice idea but undermined a little by Konami, which would become a theme from then on.

Edit - IIRC the original MGS game wasn't on the disc. You had to download it or something. Fans thought that was bad.

I thought 4 was basically impossible to rerelease? Cant remember the reason, something like the various sponsorships being impossible to renew or something weird.

Nice, Sony acquiring Nixxes confirming more how Sony will be porting tons of their exclusives to Pc.

I like how it used to be games getting advertised and shown off, now it's just "look what studio we have got" or "we've hired this dickhead".

Not arsed. Just give us game news.

It's fair enough not being excited by all this acquisition news (although I was over the moon about Insomniac). It's more of an XBox thing right? "Yay we bought such and such, lets have a circle jerk" "Winning!!11"
