I have my doubts about Fred obviously - he's no doubt a tidy and very competent player, but it's been a long settling in period. I see no reason to not play him in most/all games for the rest of the season to find out though. Pogba, well who knows. He's been pretty anonymous for months... Ole needs to find a way to get the best out of him, and quickly; I haven't seen him doing anything a hundred other midfielders couldn't have recently. McTominay looks the part. He literally plays on his toes, looks super sharp and intelligent and can actually play too.. He could slip into the Matic or Herrera role right now and I don't think we'd suffer - pretty amazing considering the short time he's been playing.
As a trio they may well shine, but the team performances have to come good before we'll really know. The opposition have to allow us to play on the break, so it's not a viable strategy for any top club. Do I think these three could play in a midfield with the responsibility of creating and dictating? Pogba yes, he's shown this in spades. The other two have a lot to prove still.
