Gaming Pokémon Strumfest

I wouldn't mind them releasing sets every month as much if the pull rates were better for certain cards.

I definitely feel like it's way too hard to get 2 copies of an ex card to at least be able to build one stronger deck. Packs should include at least 1 3-Diamond Card guaranteed and the ex (4-Diamond) should be more common than an Art Rare (1-Star). Although even if they fix these rates, I'd also prefer a set every 6-8 weeks rather than every 4~.

I don't like Shiny Pokemon being in the new big set - I think these alternate versions of old cards should only exist in the old expansions as this is just taking away hits from new cards I'd want to play the game.

If you want people to play the game, these are things they must change IMO.

Best case scenario I'm hoping for is something like:

New Main Set (2 Packs, 150+ cards)
--- 6 Week Gap ---
Special Set (1 Pack, 100~ Cards)
--- 6 Week Gap ---
New Main Set

The Special Set can have all of the Shiny Pokemon, and some other alternative versions of old cards. This makes it so it's worth opening the set if you missed some of the cards from the previous set. You don't feel like you're behind and there's still value to opening the smaller set if you can get a different version of that ex you were missing.

The quick releases and short windows is how they create FOMO = more money.

Yeah. Sadly I quit when they introduced ranked battles. Liked the game but they just kept adding too much too soon with no avenue for free to play to get anywhere near, never mind keeping up.

This is how the main TCG game is too. It's great but also stressful keeping up with the meta. The fact pocket locks you out of meta decks makes it even more stressful :wenger:

I dug out my old GBA and have been playing Emerald. When I boot the game up, I always get a message at the start about how my GBAs battery has run dry. I can still play the game but "clock based events" won't work.

Turns out this means I'll never be able to catch a Snorunt :(

Yeah, the battery is in the game cartridge and they lose charge and need to be replaced eventually. You can buy DYI kits for about £7 I think.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't think I'll bother with messing around with all that, though!

I'm thinking of just buying a new pokemon game instead. Maybe Heart Gold or Omega Ruby. I never got round to playing the remakes they made of these gens.

Just finished Pokémon radical red, a difficultly hack of Pokémon firered and includes all Pokémon up to gen 9. Very fun game and beating the bosses is so satisfying

Also played Pokémon Unbound which is based off firered but has a completely new map, characters and story. Not as difficult as radical red but much more challenging than vanilla Pokémon and well worth a play through.

I think I'll play blaze black 2 redux next.
