Pop up Ad on iPhone | Please post details like redirect URLs, screenshots,

Having a similar issue.

I keep getting redirected without warning to a spam site anytime I click something.

It makes the site unusable on mobile. Also on iPhone
 
This is happening again in Safari. Popping up repeatedly on my iPad.

It's happened before but this time seems more intrusive.

Is anyone else getting an annoying Go Compare advert that auto-plays when you open a page? (laptop, not phone)
What's worse is that the page jumps down to the advert. When I try to scroll back up it keeps jumping down to the ad.


As if that stupid Go Compare twat wasn't annoying enough already.

This fecking advert is doing my head in. It's like being on Bluemoon.

Edit: It also loops. And the pause and mute buttons do nothing.

There shouldn't be ads like that on here, I'll track it down and get it removed. Can you send me screenshots please?

What pages are you seeing this ad? homepage, forum list, thread pages?

I'll try to remember to take a screenshot if I come across it again.
I'm not sure if it was exclusively in there, but I only made a mental note of it happening in the matchday v West Ham thread. Happened on a number of pages. I've been scrolling through pages in the same thread but it hasn't come up again yet - but I had that ad come up on almost every other page just before the match.

There was also another video ad (can't remember what it was for) that auto-played on this page, but that one allowed me to mute and pause it. I'm not sure if that ad forced the page to jump down because I only noticed it when I was posting my earlier post, so the ad was already on the screen.

I've noticed the same kind of adverts again. This time for Save the Children. Again, these ads force the page to automatically jump down to the video, and the mute and pause buttons don't have any effect. They also auto-repeat, so you have no choice but to reload the page and hope the ads don't come up again.

This came up in the Europa League 2017/2018 thread, but it's also coming up in this thread as I type this.

Don't think I've seen it on the Cafe since. That bloody GoCompare ad is everywhere though. What an annoying company they are. :mad::lol:
 
Not sure how similar this is, but on an Android phone, even with pop ups disabled, at least 2-3 times per session, some ad will open, and insist on opening my google play store.
Doesn't happen on any other site.
 
Yep i'm getting the same one on android. Doesn't allow you to go back and you have to close the browsing app.

Any screenshots and or URLs you can share of the ad and page you're redirected to? That will help me track down the ad and remove it.
 
This is rather annoying isn't it... rather pathetically I can't figure out how to post screenshots from my phone!
 
Keep getting this one today(ironically after I purged all pornography from my phone yesterday). Wasn't having any issues before. Frustrating because you have to wait a few seconds too before a cross to close it comes up. I mean, it's not that I'm ungrateful as all these links look like they could change my life.

Same issue as above for my brother, haven’t any ad problems myself.

He’s not a member but browses daily and recently has been getting a similar full page ad;

Is that just something non members have to put up with?
 
@Duafc no that kind of ad shouldn't be showing. Thanks for reporting it.

I'll try and find and remove it. However, next time it pops up can you or your brother capture the URL the ad is pointing to? That will help track it down.
 
Niall, I’ve been seeing a similar issue when I use the site on my phone where I get redirected to some ‘you just won a million bucks’ ad or something like that. It only happens on redcafe and only when I use it on the phone but it happens often enough that I can’t use the site through the phone at all

Sorry about this mehro. Next time it happens can you capture as much info as you can - things like a screenshot of the ad, the URL you are redirected to etc. That will help me track it down and remove it.
 
@Niall, I just went into the thread about being able to view warnings and a full screen video for Anki Ovrdrive Fast & Furious started to auto play on my iPad, then when it stopped placed a full width banner top & bottom of the screen.

Quick one, I seem to get ads but only when viewing from my iPhone. I thought ads only for non-members or members below certain number of posts?

I keep getting a Google virus warning on an android, just from Redcafe and F365, any suggestions? I've tried everything.
 
Literally ever other click or if i scroll down a few comments using Safari i get an ‘open in app store’ pop up which no matter what i click takes me to Skybet. I also got some random ‘your a winner’ crap too.

Makes the forum pretty much un-useable!

Yeah, the site has been pretty much unusable on mobile(chrome, android) past few days. Multiple auto-redirections to spam sites. Each time I've had to shut down the browser.
