St. Etienne the much better side in the first half. We were brilliant for the majority of the second.

Martial was exceptional.

3-0, job all but done.

Good performance. The final third problem is still somewhat there. We need to convert more of our chances in the box.

Loved how at 1-0 and even at 2-0 we were still playing high risk, go for it, football.

Hmmm, I'm gonna have to hear from Dr. Machnik one last time before deciding how I feel about that one.

3-0 when we were so poor and should have been seen off in the first half comfortably by that score at least. Football's weird.

Better second half but still not exactly "good". That first half was horrendous.

We looked shaky in the 1st half although even then we had few chances. St. Etienne looked really dangerous. We stepped it up in the 2nd half and got rewarded for it.
Zlatan hattrick hero, good games by Pogs and Martial too.
Rashford was a game changer, he had a great game.

Good result - not great play.

Allows us to play weakened teams against both Blackburn and Saint Etienne in the return leg. Hopefully helps us out keeping players fresh.

Thought we were far better first half of the first half, then they were better. Second half all us.

Easy as you like, Zlatan hat trick, what more could you ask! Great performance all round, don't agree at all that we got lucky, they missed a few chances sure but they didn't even hit the target. We could've had 5/6 tonight. Glad we've given ourselves a lot of breathing room for the second leg. Romero had good command over his box today, Pogba MOTM for me.

It's funny how people were saying now that Europe matches are starting again we might get some penalties and then we did, even if it was a bit soft.

How we won that 3-0 I do not know, but no complaints, at least from a results point of view. Fellaini, Mata and Zlatan definitely cannot start together though. Lingard and Rashford improved us vastly, albeit from a relatively shite level of performance all round

Liking this cup more and more!

Hope he rests a couple of players for the second leg, keep them fresh for the league cup final, bearing in mind Southampton won't have played for yonks!

Brilliant game of football. We look like a team that means business. Feels like the Fergie era again. Onwards and upwards!

Oh, and Zlatan. What a man!

Thank feck I only watched the second half then, we were very good. Same problem in midfield, lack of control that will hurt against top teams + defense still looks weak at times.

Much better in the 2nd half.

3-0 is the score we will have wanted. Great result, though quite a low intensity performance. Happy with that, with all the games coming up.

Very enjoyable game. That second-half was a joy. Like watching Fergie's United again

I really, really enjoyed this second half. Pure Entertainment.

Now let's rest some key players for the second leg to produce a shaky 3:1 loss in France.

Good result but we only played well in short patches and the scoreline flattered us. Didn't think it was a peno for us, and thought Blind's brainfart was one, though it didn't really look bad at the time.

Sloppy play one after another but in the end... we are Manchester United... we pull the magic out as we used to be.

Bring it on!

This is weird, i thought we were very sloppy but we made it look easy. Zlatan with the ugliest Hattrick ever. Good result, we can rotate for the 2nd leg.

Great result! I think that's enough.

Pogba clearly tries to be too precise with his free-kicks, if he went for half-way between the middle of the goal and the post he'd have scored loads - a lot of the time the keeper doesn't even get a chance to move!

That ref has got to be a United fan surely gave us everything tonight

Not complaining though, should be tie over and we go on to the next round.
