Good enough performance today. Martial and Rooney were class. Varela and CBJ did really well as well.

Really annoyed that none of Memphis, Pereira and Januzaj got any minutes. Against a 2nd league team. Van Gaal just seems to have terrible man management if he can't give those players chances in games like today, yet subs Januzaj in at left wing back with 10 minutes to go against Southampton in a bad game.
Come on. Do you seriously think he was ever going to field anything other than what he currently views as his strongest/most reliable XI available to him? With his job on the line even vs such opponents?

Good, dominant performance. A nothing game though (unless we'd lost it) - we shouldn't have to field the likes of DDG and Rooney against a team that'd just lost 4-1 to bloody Burnley.

This is the first competitive match I've missed live in several years.

Nothing spectacular, but an improvement on our recent performances. Derby have been pretty shocking as well and didn't really threaten us much.

Positives: Martial, Rooney (I echo what Schmeichel said - I'd love to see him as #10 behind Martial), BoJack and Varela very good.

Negatives: Schneiderlin.

Finally, the picture below should be made into an emoticon.

Schmeichel. Talks. Rubbish.

Massive agenda tonight, and I want LVG out but we played equally well in both halves, absolute clown.

Entertaining. Horrible defending , but we seem to be able to only attack really well or just defend really well. i rather always attack. at least we get some good footy

The main positive for me is that was a much better performance then any recently, even Liverpool. Martial is proving time and time again he is capable of causing devastation cutting in off that left wing that sooner or later the team will adjust better to his play.

That was a typical United performance today for me.

I'm doubting people's commitment to Sparkle Motion
BJ was pretty good tonight, although a bit sloppy at times.

Better play tonight, great support from the fans, you can only beat what's in front of you, and all that...... I'm still thinking we will be back to normal in our next game though, lets hope I'm wrong.

Carrick needs to stay fit and sharp hopefully and RooMart keep it up!

Not even giving them sub appearances though? I would be surprised if Pereira is still here come next season, simply because Van Gaal isn't giving him any chances. And nobody could blame him for leaving, as he should be playing a lot more. Even 10 minutes at the end of the game when we're 2 up is better then nothing. How the feck are Memphis, Januzaj and Pereira supposed to develop when they're opportunities are so limited, yet randomly get game time in bad situations for them.

I must have watched a different match.

I still thought it was shite, boring and the scoreline was flattering.

Interesting that 'it's only Derby...a Championship side...' quotes are seeping out now that we've won comfortably. Let's not forget the highest score prediction on the caf was 1-0 to Derby. :smirk:

The game was a better to watch, although hardly convincing against a struggling championship side, just think how good it could have been if we hadn't had Fellani for 90+ minutes.

Everytime we ready a sub I think this time Fellani will be coming off... why do I keep deluding myself, I can only hope we are trying to give him enough game time to convince some other foolish team to part with that £25mil

I enjoyed the match. Very happy to see the lads looking more determined in the 2nd half. 1st half wasn't bad but...
Wonderful goals. We're into the next round. Can't have any complaints. And don't care if we've just beaten 'Derby' - Leeds came to OT during SAF's time and beat us 1 nil - so anything can happen on a cup run. You just need to get through the rounds as professionally as possible.

Plus, every win, no matter the opponent, gives our lads confidence which is in dire need at this time imo.

Happy for Valera and BJ.

Other than that, we played as expected against a championship side. So well done for that. Sad thing is, come the next premier league fixture, we're back to square one..probably.

Anyway, a much needed positive result here. Still not sure what to expect from the next fixture.

I don't blame you based on most of our current form but the scoreline flattering? Come on now, Derby didn't have a sniff apart from their goal.

Velera was outstanding for me tonight.

Nice knowing it's Friday night and we're in the hat already.

Toss up between Martial & CBJ for man of the match for me. CBJ is so cool on the ball yet so positive at the same time, have high hopes for him. Martial has the potential to be a future BallonD'or winner, its a shame he is not playing under Fergie.

Other than the goal,I thought Mata was poor and Lingard/Schneiderlin were anonymous for most of the game.

Derby are out of form which helped tonight, LVG lives to see another game......

We had a go and won. Derby were pretty poor and stood off us, which helped. Martial taking players on is exactly what we need to see more of.

Overall, decent but let's not get carried away.

What to say, fullbacks looked good, even under Fergie (i understand why) i always tho that playing players in natural position might be better sometimes then to put CB in there because of more trust or for what ever reason.

Blind seems cant control his discipline when he rushes out of position, its kinda funny to watch tho, rush out (leaves a space size of Texas behind),then he starts chasing more and more, when he is to far away, then he runs back towards starting position in really slow pace.

Smalling sometimes makes some weird moves without any cover.

Martial was very good, all in all,not to bad performance in general. Also i must mention whole squad in some positive manner, players had tones of chances and they still have to turn their back vs LvG,no one would even say a word when you have horde on stands having a go at LvG for some time now. Imagine if we had Chelsea squad

2 offside goals, so that's a 1-1 game right there :D Nah, let's enjoy the win, which was deserved enough all things considered. Several players did well, but I wasn't sure if Mata was out there until he scored. Really wanted to see Pereira out there, but it was not to be.

A good win. No complaints.

Derby were absolutely dire. They stood off of us and the technique of their players was abysmal. The air shot in front of goal, by Ince, was a classic. Probably the worst technique I have seen on a professional league side. They also seemed to lack desire. When they went behind, they were strolling like they were leading. But anyway, I'm happy about that.

I think Derby made the mistake that they attempted to "play" us. What they should've done is camped in their own half and hit us on the break. It's almost a guaranteed tactic to beat us.

But anyway, lets bask in the glory of a win by 2 goals and into the next round of the FA Cup.

Can't believe Derby didn't try and press us, they sat off and let us press further and further up the pitch. A few nice goals, Martial was very good in the second half and the two fullbacks were good all game.

Good game. Rooney's goal was brilliant. Martial is going to be the BPITW in the future.

Just saw the shortest of short clips from Van Gaal's press conference on Sky Sports and he's looking at the gathered journos like he's sitting in front of a punch of shoes with dogshit on them. It's fantastic.
