Some unbelievable bullshit on this thread as always. You wonder if some people here watched the game at all, or if they've just buried themselves so deep in their determined negativity that everything looks like shit on a stick to them. Disgraceful and ridiculous, and beyond comment.
This was a strong performance. On Wednesday we got 3 points from an abysmal performance, where we deserved none. Today we got 1 from a very good performance, where we would have deserved 3.
Hugely better than the last couple of games. We looked fluent and efficient with the ball, everything we weren't in the last couple of games. Credit to Everton, who played a smart game within their limitations, maximising what they're good at: Controlling their own box, and always taking opportunities on the break. Their goal was a real beauty (though it would never have happened but for Freds fumbling on the ball at the beginning).
It's interesting that when we play this fluid, it stands out more clearly who's got some limitations relative to that level. Ie, Martial (excellent goal aside), Fred and AWB, to a lesser extent McTominay.
I think we saw for the first time today what a force Sancho can (and will) be. Another good one by De Gea. And our CBs were very impressive too, especially Lindelof.
Observation: We seem to have more possession than before - more than 70% today. Can't remember when we last had that. Of course, that's not an end in itself, but we just seem to have more of it more often this year than before. I
For this particular game, my main worry was that we'd deliver another disjointed performance, and we didn't. On the contrary. If we continue playing like this, we'll be fine. For once, I'd rather have that than the points, if I had to choose, because I was starting to get really worried about that.
