PL D FA Premier League

Manchester United 1:1 Leicester City

Post-match discussion

Sun, 01 May 2016

There are glimpses of a decent team in there, but it lasts for a maximum of 20 minutes per match.

What's baffling is that there will still be people defending LVG after this.

If we win all our games we need Arsenal to beat City. To think this is our level under LVG, we rightly feel absolutely robbed.
Hopefully we can now announce the sack soon.

Did we even try to shoot in four minutes of stoppage time? That's the process, eh?

Well, that's it for top 4. What in the world has happened to United.

Stop complaining about not getting a penalty, because LC should've had one in the first half.

For some reason we looked happy with the result in the second half.

They might be on the brink of winning the league but they were shit and we really should be beating a side playing like that at home.

Some perspective - how we would have approached this game with mourinho as boos would be to sit inside our box so that they're couldn't get behind and try to have 3 attacks in the whole game. We will miss this kind of dominance when it is gone, even if our young players are consistently able to score enough

On the actual game.. First half was really good. Van Gaal told them to calm down probably at half time and so the 2nd half was back to the turgid boring shite. Rojo is terrible defensively. Everyone else was alright, nothing special, nothing awful, just like 6/10 from most.

Absolutely thrilled with the result. Over the moon because no top 4 for us. No desire from that useless tripe of a manager who said we needed to win our games to get top 4.

Hope he has Rojo carry his bags back to Portugal.

A momen of silence for our CL spot.

We started good but could not carry our momentum. 1 penalty for each team

Still slight hopes for top 4... City lose to southampton, then have 2 games against Arsenal and away to Swansea left. If they get knocked out of the CL, they could drop in those 2 confidence wise and all that. We need to beat Norwich, West Ham and Bournemouth though. Can only see 2 wins from 3 there though. Basically any win for City in their next 3 see's them get top 4 I think so it'll be tough but it's still possible.

There is a lot of ifs there.

City are to jammy drop them points. They will get top four. Probably through a couple of 90th minute goals.

Same problems we've had all season, can't break done 2 banks of 4 at all.

Our game plan of giving the ball to Rojo and asking him to float in a pointless cross isn't working.

We need to make sure the wide men keep the width in that scenario and get running at players, we just struggle so badly otherwise

A safe and content performance in circumstances where we needed more and for at least 60 minutes of that match had it there to take too.

They might be on the brink of winning the league but they were shit and we really should be beating a side playing like that at home.
They were shit because we neutralised them in every way, sad we can't capitalise on that but if you really think they coincidently played shit in this one game then lol

We were the better team. The last ten minutes, we were camped in their final third looking for the winner. Bit more like it.

Good first half, absolutely awful second... Can someone please explain to me what our gameplan was meant to be in the last 45?

Our inability to defend set prices competently is staggering

Only positive is they haven't won the league at OT.

That's about it though. The end of the season can't come any sooner. I'd be surprised if we managed to ship 38 season tickets, never mind 3800.

On the rare occasion we manage to put in a decent first half performance, we tend to completely lose interest in the second half.

We started well, zipping the ball around at a high tempo with lots of movement and could have been two up inside the first 15 minutes. We faded a bit towards the end of the half and were flat and sluggish for the first 30 minutes of the 2nd half. The last 10 minutes were a little bit better but we never really looked like getting that 2nd goal. Overall a draw was a fair result.

I never truly believed we'd nail the top 4 spot so I cannot say I'm absolutely devastated. Just hope that it will lead to LVG's getting the boot. It's been enough now, just feck off.

Started well but as we began to tire Leicester looked like theyd only just started. The more i see them play the more i believe the rumours.

Annoying game. Great first 10 minutes, full of tempo. Their first chance and they take it and we instantly being cowardly and fail to get back to the same intensity.

Fed up. Top 4 is gone. I actually want City to win later just so it doesn't feel like a super slap in the face if they drop points. They have 3 challenging games left in Southampton (a), Arsenal and Swansea (A). I just can't see us actually beating West Ham next week who will be super keen to finish 5th.

They were shit because we neutralised them in every way, sad we can't capitalise on that but if you really think they coincidently played shit in this one game then lol

I think they were sloppy for a lot of the game and that we really should have punished them more

It didn't look the players gave it their all, Leicester we're there for the taking. The ref also gave us advantage.

And please Rojo, can you stop crossing it into the box constantly.

We need some serious creativity.

If United had played the way they did in the first half more often this season, that game would have been a possible title-deciding game, draw was about fair, United should have had a penalty at the end there, but Leicester should have had one in the first half. Rojo is a complete mystery, got forward well at times today, but almost gave away a penalty, lost Morgan for the goal and again later almost leading to a second for Leicester.
I did think though, Drinkwater's first booking was harsh, it was a foul, but hardly a booking.

Absolutely thrilled with the result. Over the moon because no top 4 for us. No desire from that useless tripe of a manager who said we needed to win our games to get top 4.
U-N-I. T-E-D. United are the team for me*!
*subject to terms and conditions, like whether I like the manager. I'll still complain if/when the club misses out on big name players in the summer due to the lack of Champions League though.

Is there a precedence for hair pulling punishment?

Fallaini should have got red, but it was still a reactional elbow, when Huth was pulling him back grabbing his hair.

It's an expected result, table does not lie,we are shite and we know we are......

Good game, bad result. They were there for the taking and we should have done them in the first half. We were well on top at that point, and should have gotten a second then. Some poor defending cost us in the end, I thought Rojo was shocking today.

Also this ref...

There is a lot of ifs there.

City are to jammy drop them points. They will get top four. Probably through a couple of 90th minute goals.
Going by how they have been this season... All 3 games you would expect them to drop points in so you never know.

Why are people surprised that we were shite? We've played like this the whole fecking season.

Shame it didn't end a win for either side. Draw's the worst fecking result.

I hope we announce Mourinho now. There's no conceivable reason not to now that our season is basically over.

Frustrating game.
