Pretty much this. People need to realize this. You can blame Jose or the players all you want, fact is City have far superior players at the moment and there's only so much tactics and passion can do to mitigate the gulf in class. There's no quick fix. As much as I dislike City, their forward planning over the past few years has been worthy of a Bond villain. They set up the club so that all Pep had to do was book a plane ticket from Munich to Ringway and turn up. Our forward planning has been worthy of the British general staff at Dunkirk or Sebastopol. £1 billion has been taken from the club to pay bankers. Half of that invested in our academy and some on well thought-out purchases might well have bought us stability and continuity. Instead, we muddle along, getting the odd good result. You saw the difference today.
We as a club need to be patient, for this City cycle to finish ( and no matter how good you are every club's great cycle doesn't last more than 3-4 years) and make sure we have the players and manager groomed and ready to build on their lapse, kinda like City did to us with SAF retiring.
