Played well. Matic: from Darling to Donut.

Fred and Matic have no defining quality about them needed to become a top 4 team let alone winning the league less said about Lingard the better

Tried but lacking quality and depth from the bench. With Rashford, Pogba and Bruno we’d have won that by two I feel.

I think we did excellent. We made them really nervous for a while there.

Can't expect much more away to a significantly better side on better. No Rashford, no Pogba, no McTominay...

Not terrible. Rashford in that side instead of Lingard and we score at least 1 more.

Lingard having the 1st touch of a trampoline kept putting us under so much pressure. Looked like he didn't give a shit. Effort was all he ever really had going for him at the best of times, so if he's not even going to care, what is the point in starting him?

Shame we didn't play with a striker...

If we swap Bruno in for Lingard, and got a decent striker, we'd walk the top 4.

Beat them without Bruno, Pogba, Scotty T and Rashford. We would have won 11-0 with them. This City side are not very good are they?

Fred has been very good. Works hard, wins the ball back, moves the ball on well, receives the ball in tight spaces. Matic is back up to the back up.

Fred is excellent and was not the problem. Matic was doing great until his second yellow which you could argue was a bit much.

Gutting but a lot of positives to take from that performance.

1st leg was what settled this tie.

If we had Bruno Fernandes along with a fully fit Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba & Marcus Rashford then I believe we would have came through.

We might have lost, but at least we won.

Also, Matic scored, Bruno's coming, Ole yelled at Jesse for being Jesse and immediately subbed him off for the exact same reason. Good day.

Can’t argue with that, beat them twice at there place without a fully strength squad. #GGMU

Calling a foul throw against Mata after Pep held the ball for about 10 seconds more than he should seems a bit silly. As does sending a player off for cynical fouls, in a game involving City, that doesn't play for them.

All in all they were clearly the better team over the two legs. I guess we've done about as well as we could with our squad depth. I don't know why Fred wasn't told to feck off when he decided he should take the last free kick over a player that has scored them quite frequently and late in the game on a few occasions.

what a depressing season

Thank god we're signing Bruno. Andreas and Lingard at no 10 have been a disaster for the club.

We need a proper striker now. Martial is not reliable at all.

Red for Matic means that we cannot play with him in the league, correct? How many games? 2 or 3?

Never thought we had the belief to get another. Just a real lack of quality upfront. Midfield has guile and desire but lacks creativity. I thought it was a reasonable performance considering how thin our squad is. My worry is sat. Cant see us winning that because of the same issues. The break cant come soon enough.

Good game in the end, just a lack of quality from us, particularly Lingard and Periera were just not good enough, and a few times they let us down there. There was one key moment where Lingard gave the ball away which lead to the Sterling counter attack and it raised City in that second half when we had a period of dominance. Thank goodness that we have sealed the Bruno signing because his position tonight was the difference.

Astonishingly frustrating. They were there for the taking, and we actually nearly did it. Lingard should feck off also
