What a fecking end to the game. I had to wait a while to text anyone back or write a post here because I was buzzing off of it.

Good first from us that we grew into after a little bit of a shaky start. The first goal was just fantastic vision and pass from Fernandes from the free kick. Excellent work by Martial to make the run and with the finish too. Caught then off guard with that, and you do wonder if they had practised that beforehand.

Second half, well that was tougher. City are a quality side with a great manager so a response was expected, but despite increased possession and pressure in dangerous areas, we didn't crack and defended excellently. Was a little frustrated at how easy we gave them back the ball at times but thankfully the defence made up for it. The subbing off of Martial I thought was crazy at time, and expected more pressure. But I guess it worked out. Ighalo coming on was vital at the end too as he held the ball up very well.

And then to have the end, McTominay! Thank you very much for that Ederson. Not just your dodgy throw, but you're complete inability to spot the threat and get back into position. A gift? Yes, but not an easy chance for McTominay from that far out, first time ad he's running onto it. He executed it perfectly.

Pretty good. Suspect we are still adrift of Liverpool and Ciyy in overall but ought to be in the mix for top 4 now which I thought we were short of previously, miles short half the time.

Overall again, I'm the most positive about future prospects than I have been for yonks.

Looks like a team that can play some football, and defend when it needs to.

Thought Matic did great, especially first half. Worth mentioning.
Every player gave his best. Even james with all his fault he too tried really hard.

After a long time I was finding very difficult to decide MOTH. It was such a wonderful team game. Voted Martial.

We are resilient, tough to break down, dangerous on the break. We have pace and energy.

The next step is to build a team that can go toe-to-toe with all our rivals and can have more than 30% of the ball in these games, so that we won't have to approach them as the underdogs. It's the correct approach for now but let's build on what we're doing well now.

Brilliant post couldn't agree more. We are not quite there yet but there is certainly a lot to be positive about with this United team at the moment and I haven't felt like that for a long time.

Very impressed with our willingness to defend and press high up the pitch. Normally on such occasions we camp on our half, invite pressure and eventually concede. Credit to Ole and the boys.

It's laughable isn't it. He did exactly everything at the right time.

Solskjaer: I want players who break their nose for United

Redcafe poster: he is lucky they sacrifice themselves
Good post - funny and true!

That was the best performance of the season for me.
We did everything we had to do considering the context and the opposition. We defended well for the first 15 -20 min, then we actually dominated and played great football in the next 25 min of the half. In the second half, it was always going to be the case of lots of possession for City and there's no point trying to beat them at that. We defended brilliantly and they could only create one real chance in that half (Sterling one). And even in all those period without possession, we created a number of chances to double our lead.

I can't choose a MOTM which says a lot about the team's performance as a whole. After Fergie, in the last few months we are finally seeing a team that fully give their all for the club and the manager.

8 clean sheets in the last 10 games, only two goals conceded in that time.

And credit to Bruno for telling Pep to shut the feck up. I'm imagining that's what he said as he was making the yapping gesture with his hand and then put his finger up to his mouth (someone please gif that)

And huge credit to the crowd. Even watching it on TV, I would feel the buzz in that last 10-15 min.

p.s. feck the refs and the condescending cnut Micah

Can't believe Ole is smiling in the post match interview after having only 28% possession at home

I just don't know what to do with myself

About DJ, he has such a huge asset with his pace, and he also manages to take on defenders sometimes. But if he doesn't improve his decision making and final passes then he won't make it here. His lack of vision when Bruno was free on the penalty spot was borderline criminal.

The purpose of the game is to score more than the opposition. Not how much possession we have.

I believe we could win this game but this was even more fantastic that I could imagine. The defending was great, transition to counter even with less amount of players was quite decent/threatening, we scored a tactical/trained move showing how nailed in the preparation for this game, and the last goal was fantastic as well from McTominay, he saw his opportunity and finished it beautifully!

Despite a doubtful moment during Aguero's offside and some poor decision makings (shooting instead of passing), defence was strong and organized. Fred has 4 lungs, AWB is amazing, Matic plays with strong commitment, Williams did decent as starting, James was on point though could have been better, even Ighalo did great for just few minutes.

Finally, Bruno, he is just the guy we need. So happy that we know how to use him and giving a strong momentum and confidence to turn the season around!
