That's four wins on the bounce for Ole and it's hard to belief just a few weeks ago we were watching rock bottom football under Jose Mourinho. After a difficult first-half where we struggled to break down a well organised Newcastle defence, we stayed patient and kept probing until we broke through in the second-half. It was the new super-sub Romelu Lukaku who broke the deadlock, netting the rebound from a Rashford free-kick. Rashford then added the second after a beautifully worked counter-attack led by Lukaku and Sanchez.

So great to see us winning games like this again, St. James' Park was half-empty in the closing minutes so convincing was our win. Not long ago we would have lost this kind of match, but we dominated from the first minute and were worthy winners.

Chelsea dropped two points at home to Southampton so we're now six points off fourth.

Oh and we got a clean sheet - woot!

Newcastle 0:1 Man Utd - Lukaku (64')

Newcastle 0:2 Man Utd - Rashford (80')

First clean sheet since approximately forever. Suddenly it feels like Fergie again.

Fantastic result. Doesn’t look that good on paper, but that’s the sort of game that definitely doesn’t go in our favour just a month ago.

Job done. Great subs from Ole that won us the games.

Our counters were great except for some selfishness after second goal.

Good stuff and a clean sheet. Newcastle are annoying to play against and Shelvey needs to be retrospectively banned the nasty fecker.

Great result. Happy to see the Fat Waiter leaving pissed off after that kind of negative/cynical performance by his players. Shelvey can do one. Let's keep this streak going!

I've no idea how but I hate Newcastle even more after that. Horrid team.

Good game though by us, good win.

Kind of game we needed, tough away game at the end of a hectic schedule not the prettiest but well deserved win. Also Lascelles and Shelvey should have both been straight reds. We also looked more likely to score again than they did. Overall a decent win.

Great result. First time I've gone in a match day thread in a while. Man, they're painful. Some amount of moaning fans on this place if we're not a goal up within 2 minutes.

Looked easy as soon as we got the break through. Sloppy up until that moment. 4 wins out of 4, not too shabby.

Struggled to open them up when they were well organised and deep. Needed a set piece. We need to add quality and some different weapons if we are to unlock these types of teams

Happy with that. Ole got his subs spot on yet again.

Can someone explain to me why Atsu is playing football in the Premier League. His quality - he runs fast.

Tricky game. Didn't play that well.
Should've been more precise with our chances.

Deserved win in the end, dominated most of the game, took a while to find the break through but once we put the subs in and Lukaku got the first it was never in doubt after. Could've been more with all the counters we were screwing up but 2 and another for Rashford is lovely.

Great result. Never underestimate how good Benitez is at setting up a team to defend. This was the first time Solksjaer's United really came up against a team who could keep it tight and counter. We found a way to unlock the door, thanks in large part to Ole's subs, and at the other end we defended well enough for a shut out. Very happy.

Brilliant. Nowhere near our best and still created more than enough to win comfortably and a clean sheet. If Pogba had scored at the end it would have been perfect.

4 games in , can't really have asked for much more under Ole so far.

Great to finally get a clean sheet , and we are creating a lot of chances these days.

Ole made the subs at the right time. I assume Young was too knackered to come on for Valencia as he has put in a right shift in the past 3 games.

We played as well as we could in these type of games where other top teams have also struggled to put them away. The second goal was a beauty.

Lindelof is a colossus, he has a future at the club. MOTM.

VERY proud of the players tonight. Most of those players have played every game over Christmas and come away with maximum points. They ground it out. And tried to play good football along the way. Yes, we looked sloppy at times, but you have to overlook that at the end of busy festive period, where we are the ONLY team who currently have 4 wins out of 4. Only Liverpool can match us.

Only negatives were Mata on the right, just doesn't work. And Valencia looks a spent force. Everyone else gave 100% even if they looked rightly off the boil. Thought Lindelof and Pogba were brilliant. Leaders across the pitch.

Yeah, we'd have drawn/lost this one a month ago.

Ole deserves big credit today. We had a different test and he got the changes right. Jones did his best to throw a spanner in the works but the team were patient. Dare I say it, a performance Jose would have been proud of. Well done to the lads.

Also Atsu with one of the best worst performances I have ever seen. Weirdest mix of a threat without actually being a threat.

Nothing special, but we won that's the important thing. Was looking dicey for a while, thought we didn't play with anywhere near the amount of movement and speed that we did in previous matches, but we dug deep and broke them down in the end. A good 3 points
