Its really not. He worked as a head coach at Ajax under a Sporting Director and an experienced CEO.

United should have hired him with a specific style of play, knowing what players we wanted to bring in to execute that. Not just leave it to the manager. If its true that Ten Hag demanded control of transfers, and that's been contracted in Der Telegraaf, he shouldn't have been appointed.

The club should have put a proper structure in place, to realise an actual vision of football. It didn't because it doesn't have a vision of football beyond bland platitudes. All we're seeing is the logic endpoint of a club without any real direction.
