That was a great moment at the end but at what cost? Can’t keep papering over these cracks.

Hopefully this doesn't just paper over the cracks. That was one of the worst performances I can remember from us. So, so poor in every way.

Incredible end to the match but that first half was ridiculously bad. Ronaldo won us the game but De Gea saved us from being embarrassed.

Ole’s subs seemed odd in the moment but paid off big time.

Huge victory but my god we have issues. Hopefully we rectify it and so that we don't have to resort to smash and grab

Never in doubt
Feck you, you yellow cnuts

Cavani and Lingard changed the game
De Gea saved us
Ronaldo is Ronaldo
We need a midfielder desperately

I love Ole but this isn’t acceptable, he needs to go.

Rubbish first half, better in the last 30. Badly needed points, Ronaldo is a god. Im still done with PE teacher Ole but buzzing with the 3 points and Ronaldo.

We better enjoy the win because we sure as hell are not going to be enjoying a trophy-winning season.

Beat Everton now and we're back on track.

Want to see Cavani start also, he lifted us so much tonight after coming on.

Terrible, inept, tactically outclassed.
Glad we won, but we are going nowhere with Ole as our manager.

Undeserved as feck, but I'll take it. Performance is very worrying though. I wonder how long Ronaldo and De Gea can keep saving Ole's job.

As a spectacle that game was electric. Incredible finish. Absolutely brilliant.

We really fecking got away with it. Lovely goal from Telles and fantastic to see Ronaldo get it in Fergie time, but honestly we got away with it.

We have world class players, we need a world class manager. I love Ole but he has to go. He doesn't have a plan, he is late to make subs, he is just not world class manager.
But his subs worked in this game? We literally won the game because of his substitutions.

Jury’s out still but winning games when you deserved a spanking always feel great. Work rate if Cavani in particular when he came on was magnificent

Glad we won and the GOAT goes on. Telles volley unreal.
Have to say it was also a lucky win. If they had have had their shooting boots on first half...
Cavani should start every game. It changed when he came on.
Dalot should never be picked again.
Ole got away with one tonight.

It wasn't a good performance but let's be honest you have to credit Villarreal, we've seen them enough over the years to know they're no pushover. I wasn't expecting a smooth performance tonight. That said, the chances they created compared to ours were not very clever from our point of view.

It's still a massive win. The result was very much of primary importance tonight.

That’s why you don’t ever take Ronaldo off.

Other than that, terrible performance and Villarreal were better for most of the match, but what’s new?

When Cavani and Matic came on they really started pressing, changed the game.

De Gea is a liability: The way he pushes those shots into the box, terrible. Never feel safe with him. Yesterday Donnarumma just catches those shots

The literal footballing example of putting a plaster on a broken leg, love Ole the person and the player but as head coach it’s a massive no from me and I’ve never been Ole out.

We have huge problems but who fecking cares, that was amazing.

Cavani should be starting for us. Easy to forget why we loved him so much last season with the signings of Ronaldo and Sancho but the guy is pure work rate.

Genuinely up there with the worst performances after SAF but you can't argue with that ending
It was a poor in terms of performance and very frustrating at times. But I see people say this kind of stuff and you simply cannot remember some of the dour life sucking shite we played under the previous 3

To be fair, in the CL groups when you've lost to Young Boys, I don't give a hoot how we win as long as we win. There are some worrying trends developing early season but Ronaldo will always have chances and our bench is sickeningly good. We were horribly bad first half and DDG is MOTM but let's hope we keep the momentum for Everton.

Terrible first half, a little better in the second, Ole managed to make them in game changes in tactics and the subs worked big time. Well done to him and the boys, big confidence boost.

That was basically a miracle today considering Ole thought we could play without anyone in midfield… I’m confused at what I’ve just watched
