We should have been pushing for 2nd place after the wins we had in previous weeks against big opposition. Instead, we're doing our best to surrender our top 4 position (which looked booked weeks ago) because we don't have a plan B.

This game was every bit as bad as Moyes' Fulham game last year.

If we get 4th or not. LVG is not the right man for the PL. clueless against shite.

It's clear the players are afraid to take risks because LVG has drilled it into them that they should be patient and think before doing anything.

Which leads to insecure, stale and unbelievably boring football.
If this is true then LVG needs kicking out of the club.

Hull and Palace will know exactly how to contain us and Arsenal could smash us.

We are relying on Liverpool or even Spurs failing to take advantage now.

After the last two performances I'm amazed some on here are still calling those who are worried about getting top four "kneejerk".

Seriously, we were a tad unlucky today.

Even if we draw vs crystal palace and arsenal, were still favourites for too 4. Can't lose any of those two.

LVG seems to be a bit clueless when he actually has some players to choose from. RVP and Rooney in midfield, seriously? 3 losses in a row, not even Moyes managed that.
Curious how much of it is due to the lack of balance that LvG always talks about.

Free falling now. Defend against us and we have feck all. Can't see us getting another win this season.

Special mention to DiMaria...absolute dogshit. We looked like scoring until that utter turd came on. Dreadful player and he doesn't look arsed.

Van Persie in midfield and Fellaini up front - that was hideous. You just knew at that point we weren't going to try and win playing actual good football.

3 defeats in a row, congrats on the record LVG

Watching us play is just as tiring as playing 90 mins of football. Takes about 10 minutes of passing before someone finally has the balls to take a risk and when they do there is no quality on the final ball

Very humbling. Feel like we might have done better if we played our strikers upfront.

Three games on the trot where we havent scored. The 'creative' players - Young, Mata, Herrera/Rooney (when playing the advanced midfield position) - all need to be held accountable on that.

Plus points - McNair and Smalling looked good, RVP looked sharp, Young had a decent game as well I felt.

Obertans #1 fan.
If we don't get top four this year it is because a greater part of 100 million has been spent on Falcao and Di Maria who have both been poor this year.

I am absolutely flabbergasted how we came away from that with nothing.

WBA didn't come to play football, and they followed the Chelsea blueprint down to the tee. Pulis and Myhill can also feck off.

I'm convinced had RVP slotted that pen away, we would've won.

The ref is also an odious cretin, he delighted on giving us nothing unless it was blatantly obvious.

Oh how we could do with a player like Yacob. Fantastic player.

Meh, it happens. One of those days. We would have scored 5 on another day. One thing is for sure and that is we need at least 2 central midfielders in the summer. We're an injury to Carrick away from being in a lot of trouble.

Fellaini at his most ineffective. Killed our play.
Di Maria......My God what a tosser
RVP in midfield
Great performance by their keeper.

Letting Liverpool back into it is unforgivable

The ball just wouldn't go in the back of the net. If it wasn't for their goalkeeper we'd have won that easily. Well you can't complain, that's the whole point of 'em.

One of those days, I'm afraid.

You could say "one of those days" as we looked cursed with any type of chance, and that they were very lucky to actually win as they offered nothing in attack and got a deflected goal.

However you could also bring up the fact we have no pace, no one that can carry the ball at the defense and no ability to harass a CB partnership other than throw Fellaini up there, he was the most effective #9 we had today. All in all we look bereft of a change of gear and pretty lacking in any real incision.

We got no luck at all. Myhill decided he was Oliver Kahn today. The baggies defense decided they were Italy '90. Massive deflected goal. Was that their only shot?

In spite of all that we should still be winning. Shocking how hard we are finding it to score.

We have no players out wide who consistently try to take on the fullback and we have no overlap out there either.

Hence we pass the ball around trying to create space but never actually do so because we're not moving the ball quick enough. Frustrating.

The worst, most feckless and incompetent game I can remember watching as a United fan, and that's after suffering through the ten months and 5000 crosses of David Moyes last season.

Di Maria played a game worthy of immediate contract termination.

I'm fecking livid. The fact that those players could come out and deliver that at our home ground after getting their arses handed to them against Everton last week just boggles the mind.

I think they've just undone the position to get that automatic CL spot. They've really undone the season with such a poor end.

This idea of meeting the objective certainly doesn't help. I haven't liked recent murmurs about top 4 being the objective this year because we are pretty much there, so it feels like everyone is ready to pack up.

Very disappointing to see us go into lump it mode. We just don't play to our strengths and yet again, a Carrickless United shows an inability to play between the lines.

Bit of a ridiculous game really.. Missed so many chances, missed a pen, another pen not called, they score a jammy deflected free kick goal and in the end we lose. Our final ball is atrocious, it really is. We get in good positions pretty often, but Mata, Herrera, Di Maria, Valencia, Young all don't know how to cross. Shocking really.

LvG's equivalent of Moyes vs Fulham ?
Yeah, except our players were blatantly instructed not to use the channels or try to pull the defence about at all. They were told to go through the middle and try pot shots from the 16 yard line.

It was bad. Really bad.

But on another day it could have been different. Easy to say, but it's true. West Brom really did do feck all, and we had plenty of half chances, full chances, and bloody sitters.

That's not to say we should not worry. As Manchester United, we've been used to teams sitting back, and having to work really hard to break them down. Spraying the ball around and having all the possession is impressive against the top teams, but against the likes of West Brom at home, it should be a given. And we should have been able to break through, regardless of luck.

Anyway, I'm not too panicked yet. Top 4 should still be ours. But it's put a dent in my Saturday night, that's for sure. Someone pass the gin...

  • Fellaini was useless yet 90 minutes
  • Rooney is not a midfielder
  • ADM wasted everything
  • Mata was very meh
  • Valencia was valencia
  • Young was good
  • RVP was good but we needed that penalty
It was pathetic, shambolic and a fecking disgrace to the club.

The top 4 race should be over now its a fecking dogfight, Not good enough from the players, We MUST win next week,
