4.00 xG according to Fotmob, feels about right. Good performance though. Just missed goals.

Mainoo and Garnacho class. Love Garnahco on the right wing, I've missed seeing those type of winners for United. That's what we need.

It’s a win, never really felt like Wigan particularly got anywhere near us apart from that early chance, but we aren’t exactly great either. Too many chances wasted by McTominay, Hojlund and Rashford who was really frustrating in the 2nd half. Will need to massively up our game if we are to beat Spurs next week.

We’ve got another lower league game next round which is quite the turn around from the barrage of premier league teams we are used to getting in the cups.

Comfortable win. They never looked like threatening. That crap from Matterface at the end saying what might have happened without the pen is just embarrassing.

That was... alright. I thought some of our attacking play was very good and build up was nice to watch. I felt we were in control of the match which was good to see.

Certain players need to be better with their decision making though because 9/10 times it's killing our attacks.

Easy win, we squandered a lot of chances and on another day 6-0 would have been a fair reflection.

Mainoo outstanding, such class on the ball. Hes set to become a United regular. Garnacho played well.
On to the next round.

Hope, We Lose
Lucky that Dalot found a nice finish because Hoijlund, McTom, Rashford and Bruno's finishing today was at best 3/10

Mainoo kept winning the ball and looked like the only real difference in quality between the 2 teams

As good as Mainoo was on the midfield as bad was McToninay!! Thing that there is almost 10 years between them

Mainoo is a boss. Rashford is still jogging around like a toddler who is not allowed sweets, hojlund just cannot score, no drive to play till the full time whistle, hannibal had a chance to bring the ball up for one more chance, instead he slowed the game and went backwards. Our overpaid losers got a couple of scares for Wigan but some good performances out there. It's clear, only a few players deserve to be here, cannot wait for Ineos to come in and shake things up.

Nevertheless, we are through, easy on paper next round but Spurs next at home, we will be back to square one being scared fragile babies.

Just a League One team but I enjoyed this. Forgot the feeling of United dominating and missing ton of chances. 2-0 but could have been 6 if we take our chances well, but that was a fun and quiet night. I'll take this.

Some of our fans hate Bruno so bad they are willing us not to have a clear penalty given, huh? Bunch of weirdos.

Shame we didn’t get a few more goals early on so the youngsters could get more minutes. Finishing was pretty atrocious as was a lot the of decision making in the final third.

Disappointed we didn’t score several more as it was a great opportunity to get some real confidence into this team. I think the players will feel a bit disappointed with all the missed chances. Marino and Garnacho were bright.

Great win?

Seriously, is this how bad it's got?
A "great" win in so far as explained in the rest of the sentence - through to next round with every chance going through to the next round.

Mainoo shone but Rashford, Bruno, Hojland and McTominay were poor. I just don't buy that Rashford is suffering from lack of confidence, his game has alarmingly nose dived and against a league 1 defender he huffed and puffed but had zero quality all match.

Good to have a win and progress but can't help thinking we'll go out against a half decent side.

Penalty might have been soft but it was a clear penalty by the rules of the game and Bruno did the right thing going down once he felt contact.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
McTominay invisible, Rashford (unfortunately) visible, Bruno poor but got the pen.

Garnacho very good, Mainoo MOTM (McCoist is an idiot), nice early save from Onana, defence ok but a few scares and against a low team.

A win‘s a win.

(if Gnashers is ok on the right, try Antony on the left and tell him to cross, cross, cross. At least try it).

Can't believe the state of our corner kicks. Just, how?

Clear pen and was needed to help us beat them and not let them think they had a chance of equaliser late in the game so thank feck Bruno felt that little nick and made the most of it.
Other than that we struggle like feck to play football

Happy with the win but disappointed with the overall attacking performance. Real lack of creativity combined with consistent selfishness / terrible decision making really makes us look terrible.

If that was in the Prem then I’d be happy as the quality of the opposition would have been far superior. We put a strong team out there tonight against a decimated Wigan and if it wasn’t for the penalty (embarrassing Bruno rolling around) then who knows how it could have ended.

I’d keep Mainoo and Garnacho and get rid of the rest from the midfield going forward. We all laughed at Wout but it looks like Rasmus might be his distant cousin. Rashford trying to shoot and hoping the five players in the way just dissolve.

The positives are that back line looked solid enough. Who knew at the start of the season that Evans was going to be our best signing.

It feels like ETH tells the midfield and forwards to go out there and just do what they like. Feels like there is no synergy at all.

Mainoo best on the pitch. Garnacho was lively and promissing. Defence was alright. Hojlund unlucky and low on confidence. The less said about the rest the better.

We win easily but if we can’t score a load against Wigan, who can we score a load against in the Premier

Don`t agree that it was comfortable, they had a couple chances they could have scored from. And our ability to score goals is so bad. Not expecting goals anymore, regardless of quality of chance.

Kobbie is joy to watch, head and shoulders our best option in midfield. At 18…
Someone should be hanged in public for that fact.
EtH is a fecking pussy for not giving players like Pellistri, Hannibal, Willy some more minutes. Scott and Marcus were not up to much, take them off at 60 and give these young talents a proper chance.

He's clearly desperately trying to play certain players into form. However after 5 months, if it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck...

... then chances are they're never going to fecking score. And doubly true for an assist.

If we give up possession as much against Spurs it will be a massacre. Wish we could play Wigan every week.

We need to kick out Erik, Rashford, McT and the rest of the deflated players from this club as soon as possible, before they ruin Mainoo, Garnacho and a handful of other young gem players we have
